Excellent customer service and fresh food each time I visit. I really don't understand the prices though. The quantity of the food you receive is not worth the price. Bacon Egg and cheese with barely any bacon, a Cuban toast and an OJ for $17.... I would just stick to the empanadas and juices. Everything else is overpriced. read more

Mambos Cafe - "Bacon" Egg and Cheese Cuban, Cuban Toast, & OJ $17.... - Dominican Near Me - Tampa, Florida

What a great find! THE best Cuban sandwich in Tampa. If you're looking for the original/traditional sandwich you need to go to. Mambo's. Great garbanzos and black beans, too. Friendly, local place. You can even find guava goodies and soda. read more

The staff was pleasant as always and Cafe con Leche great! BOWL OF BARELY WARM OATMEAL $6.99 PLUS TAX!!! That is absurd. Partially my fault for not asking price. I called to verify this was the correct price for large oatmeal. Eggs are $6.00 at Publix but oatmeal is as cheap as dirt. $6.99 is ridiculous for oatmeal. read more

We enjoyed having our wedding catered by Mambos Cafe this past weekend. The food was the highlight of the evening, featuring generous portions and a stunning presentation of trays. We had a variety of guests at the wedding; all of whom raved about the food. I cannot wait until our next event. We shared the contact information with everyone interested. Such a warm and caring family to work with at Mambos Cafe. Special thanks go out to Alejandro and Jose! read more

Ethnic Cuisine # 65. Dominican Food. This cafe is interesting. Less than $10 you can have your meal. Better than fast food choices. It is off Armenia side street. It is local cafe restaurant. They don't open at night and close after lunch service. I was attracted by one of the picture post about the the Pernil pork shoulder. I said I got to try that. I got my lunch with that choice. They give me a good portion with their gravy. I also added the fried pork belly. The skin is crispy. My second dish was the king fish. I saw they have cold fish on display. They immediately offer me if I want a hot piece not the chill fish. They fried a big piece while I am waiting. All lunch come with rice and choice of side. I got the cucumber salad and the sweet plantain. Food is delicious after 30 minutes drove home and eat. The store clerk was friendly. I like to try their juice and coffee next time. They do have sandwiches on the menu. But I like the display food. read more

Very tasty and authentic Spanish food with a Dominican influence. Located on North Armenia, just past MLK in Tampa. The Mangu with pickled onions is perfect. The Palomilla steak & eggs very yummy. Café con leche was spot in good and served very hot. Many other traditional Spanish meals available - pernil, various rices, chicken and more. Very casual location. If I were a regular, I'd probably start bringing my own utensils instead of the small plastic utensils provided. They're functional...I'm just saying that if I were going here several times a week that I'd prefer to eat with larger utensils. Not a knock on the restaurant... just me being me... read more

Once you try Mambos Cafe, you will become a frequent customer. Located near the corner of MLK and N. Armenia Avenue, Mambos is centrally located in Tampa. My pork and yellow rice was juicy so tasty. Been coming to mambo's for years! Always great food! I get the pork with yellow rice and black beans. Over the years many places have closed their doors or just lost quality. Mambo's is standing strong and consistent! Great food! read more

Good little Caribbean cafeteria. I was curious to try Dominican food. There were some classic Dominican dishes here, like chicharrones and mafongo, but I'd say the food was more pan-Caribbean. Roast pork, beef stew, Cuban sandwiches, etc. I had the roast pork. There's an onion oil (sofrito?) that you can ask them to put on top. It came with two sides. The server already scooped yellow rice, so I went with that, and then I asked for black beans. I also asked for a few pieces of chicharrones for the drive home. ;) This huge amount of calories was $10 with tax, which was impressive, since I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. The food was fine, although somehow in the 20 minute drive home, the rice and beans were cold, despite being packaged in styrofoam (must not have been hot on the line). The beans were well seasoned and were warm when I got home. The chicharrones were not warm either. They were perfectly cooked, crunchy but not dry, but a little underseasoned. They require masks to enter, and while there is the option to dine in, they have reduced the total number of tables. read more

The food is amazing! The staff is very friendly. A great local joint. I recommend if you miss your mons cooking.

My family frequents here about 1-2 a week. Lately the owner guy has been rude. My husband said this would be our last time coming back when the owner made a big deal about us asking for a piece of bread with our meal. Told my husband "she doesn't eat it" If I'm paying for it, what does it matter what I do with it? (It cost $2.50 for a whole loaf) Today my husband went back on his word and tried mambos again, this time ordering a Cuban sandwich Togo, he got it wrapped in a paper bag, normally they give us plastic bags Togo. He got out of the front door and his sandwich fell threw the bag on to the sidewalk. My husband asked if the sandwich could be remade but in a plastic bag. The woman stated to make it but the owner said he needed us to pay for it. I get it, it wasn't his fault the sandwich fell. But it is up to him to make the customer happy. No discount was offered, nothing. Customer service is everything when you run a business. read more

I order a palomilla steak and was like a rock with a bad flavor. I talk the girl in the register and she talk me what do you want me to do eat the sandwich. I will never comeback to this place and I don't recommend to anyone. read more

Quick spot to pick up something to eat fast. Best thing is their Cuban toast and cafe con leche!

The food was amazing and the plates were a very large size and the service was amazing as well everyone was so kind!

Lunch isn't my favorite but the breakfast sandwiches are awesome. We usually get the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and they load up on crispy bacon which awesome. Def try it out! read more

This place reminds me a lot of the restaurants in NYC where you get a whole meal just for $7! Everything here is delish, now I could only recommend this place if you are ordering for pick up. If you are dining in here, it didnt seem like a place you would want to sit and eat, as every server here is attending mostly the people coming in and out for pick up. The amount of food they serve for $7 literally gives you 2 servings. It is good Dominican food! I highly recommend. read more

Fantastic food at great prices. Their oatmeal for breakfast is the best ever. Great empanadas. Definitely recommend.

The guy at the register is D bag...so rude...Placed and ordered and half the stuff was missing, when I went to the registered and told them he said to wait for them to add it...20 minutes when buy and order still wasnt ready...he said they forgot to tell the cook in back to make it....I went up again after 10 minutes he said he just checked which was BS since he had been arguing with one of the ladies that work out front...another 10 minutes and I just said look refund me and then he went out back and food had been sitting back there for a while since it was cold....the guy the register is RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! read more

The Mangu breakfast was delicious! Also had a palomilla steak sandwich which did not disappoint! So far the service is fast and friendly. The prices are excellent as well! Will definitely try some more dishes. read more

Good food. Good service. Low prices. How do they do it, I don't know. Highly recommend if you want to eat latin food in the Tampa area. I had chicken, white rice and garbanzo beans. You can mix and match however you like. There are also sandwiches and natural juices made with milk or water. The papaya with milk is deliscious, but be careful if you are LI. You know...Enjoy! read more

This is a great restaurant. You can see the food you are ordering since they have it in hot serving trays behind glass. All you need to do is point and say "I'll have that, and that, and that, and that." You get the idea. I had a Cuban sandwich, rice with pigeon peas and 2 ham croquettes. I also had cafe con leche and black beans and rice on a previous visit. Everything was great. The Cuban was one of the best I've had. It tastes like they carved the meat right then. It was very juicy and the pork had a nice seasoned flavor. The rice both times was flavorful, with the peas and with the black beans. Authentic flavor. I liked the cafe con leche. It was strong and had a nice foamy taste with the milk added. The croquettes were really good. They fried them up for the order. The breading was tasty but the minced up ham inside was extra tasty. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. I'll be back once a month when I see my doctor nearby. It will be a regular spot for me. The food is excellent. read more

Yummy Spanish food. Cafe con leche was on point. If I can't go to Puerto Rico, mambo's is a great place to find the taste of the island.

Best steak and egg breakfast sandwiches!!! I could eat here every day. And the staff is all so nice. Love this place.

Witnessed the manager of the store being rude to one of their customers. He basically blamed her for the credit card machine not working when it clearly stated that the machine was offline. He was rushing her to order/threw an attitude when she literally just got there. Walked right out when I saw this. This is not good customer service..... at all. It was very disappointing and I decided not to order anything because of this. read more
