Chicken and beef empanadas
Par K.

Went in on grand opening day. It was pretty packed so I got empanadas to go, they didn't have much flavor in them but they were hot and fresh. The fruit juice had fruit pieces in them, but it was very sweet for my liking. It was fast and quick service being that it was their grand opening day. Will be going in again

Pechuga a la plancha : Grilled Chicken Breast Sweet Plantains White Rice - A foil container holds white rice, two fried plantains, and a piece of grilled chicken, served as a meal.

Disappointed with the presentation of what I have ordered. They do give enough food but just by opening the lid to my take out container, my sense of starvation felt unsettled. My dish looks so PLAIN. I ordered grilled chicken which is simple enough for my current diet, but where's the color in this dish... no tomato, onion, cilantro, NONE OF THAT. Traditionally, there's some type of little salad (aside from sides) that gets added to a dish like this. Not even a slice of lemon... it tastes so plain :(

This place is right In the heart of Middlesex . I have stopped in previously for just a mango…read moreshake or empanadas but me and my husband decided to give a try for dinner . The staff is super friendly but the food we order lacked flavor . I've eaten at a lot of Colombian places and unfortunately this place fell a little short in the flavor department. I ordered the Bandeja Piasa and my husband order beef and onions . Both although decent they could have used more seasonings.

I originally stumbled across this place as my grandparents moved and live nearby. Originally, the…read moreColombian restaurant I used to go to closed a few years ago :( (Punto Cubano - North Plainfield). However, I love the ambiance of this place, and already before you go in, there are some tables and parasols outside, and a bright, Colombian flag! Inside, it is a bit small, but I've never seen it super crowded. However, I don't think it would be authentic if it wasn't "intimate" lol. In any case, I have tried the following and everything has been great: Mini Bandeja Paisa, Bandeja Paisa, Filete al Ajillo, all of the bakery items except the churros, and the fruit juices with water). The portions are very generous and I always have leftovers. The lady that I always see there is also very nice (I can't remember her name though). All in all, I really like this place and it reminds me of the places I would at with my family in Popayan. Thank you again for the lovely service!

The restaurant was laid out with tables to the right & left, a coffee/juice bar and a bakery section in the back. Since my Spanish is nil, I believe who was one of the owners helped us choose our meal. Peruvian Beef Stir fry with rice and fries & Pueblo Style fillet of fish (tilapia) I had plantains & black beans as sides. Both were portions for two people & absolutely delicious. I had a tamarind drink and my friend had a Batido Mango (made with milk) The staff were all sweet and helpful. We got to-go bags. The prices were very reasonable for what we got. After we paid the check we were given caramelo flan ~ we said we would never finish it - well we did! Pretty much licked the plate. Can't wait to go back! And since I watch Celtic, premier, euro soccer, have found a new place that opens early! Soccer was playing on the screens while there! Another plus. Definitely check this place out, they have traditional Costa Rican, Peruvian and Salvadoran dishes - just to name a few!!!

The eggs were cooked perfectly as I asked. Over easy to med. And the yoke was coming out, but not pouring. Eating on the go can not be over easy as I like. And now I been here twice in two days. This could pretty much be my new breakfast spot.!!!! There is a dining area. But I always get my order to go. Breakfast and TV works better for me. I was kind of in a hurry so I had to get something to go instead of eating in...which is a shame because I would have have loved to have have sat there for more of a meal. As it was, I ordered a Chili Cheese Dog and a Chicken Empanada. I had the empanada first and I didn't love it-not because it was bad, but it had a lot of potato inside and I kind of just wanted chicken. The dipping sauce/salsa was outstanding. The dog was a different story...not sure of the brand (she told me 'Parks'), but it was done nicely on the grille, was a good sized dog that was longer than the bun, and the toppings were really tasty. I love when the chili tastes great, but doesn't overpower the taste of the dog. I wish I had take pix, but you'll just have to rely on my words. I will be back the next time in town so I can eat my meal there.
