I was in dyer need of an eyebrow trim and was in the area for an appointment. Since I had some time to spare, I got on trusty yelp and found Sabi's threading not too far from my appointment. Arrived and parked on the huge lot where Mr Pete's restaurant is located on the corner in a mini mall. Parked right in front and was greeted by Shelly with all smiles. Shelly was fast, yet thorough. She was very gentle with her hands and I felt relaxed being in a shop I was unfamiliar in. I love my brows all over again! I am such a crybaby!!! It has been so long since I have threaded or waxed my eyebrows. But one of my friends mentioned that I should have it done for my engagement photo session. I decided to to hear with all the great review. Was greeted immediately and asked to sit down. I let the lady know that I wanted a natural look and to be gentle with me because it has been so long. She was nice and it took about 5 minutes but those 5 minutes seemed like 5 hours. Because I was being such a crybaby. It was nothing she was doing but GOSH I do not remember threading being so painful. After finishing she (sorry did not get her names) asked me to take a look and asked if I liked them. Sabi used to be my go to (look back at all the five star reviews from a few months ago) and I was willing to drive nearly 30 minutes to have her do my eyebrows. The past two times she has not been there, and another women has been running the shop. She was not bad, but not nearly as efficient or painless. I was unable to ascertain if Sabi still owns the shop and just happened to be gone when I was there. I will need to call next time. I came here a few times years ago but stopped coming. Then I decided to try this place again last week but now I remember why I stopped coming to Sabi. She leaves a lot of hair and doesn't trim the eyebrows enough. I left with one eyebrow thicker than the other. I had to thread and trim all the excess when I got home. She also wanted me to pull an ingrown with my nail. I don't do that unless I have clean hands. I told her I'd pluck it when I got home and she argued with me about it. I don't like when threaders tell me how I should do my brows or tell me what to do. They're my brows and I'm paying to have the service done the way I want. I won't be returning. read more

honestly i came in expecting this place to be great because of the reviews but was left disappointed. I came in on a Sat morning, no wait, lady was.. not rude but not friendly either.. kept hitting my other eye when she was doing on eye (i get my eyebrows threaded monthly no other place has done this to me before), I asked her if she could be a bit more careful and she blamed it on me not holding my eye lids down (once again, i do this stuff all the time, nobody else has said anything).. overall price is cheap but service was sub-par and results were definitely sub-par as well.. looks like I won't be coming back. read more

I tried Sabi's for the first time today and I am completely happy with my eyebrows! The service is very friendly and the staff did my eyebrows exactly like how I wanted it. I really appreciated how she took the time to detail my brows and made sure that I was completely satisfied with one brow before she moved on to the other. Used to go here for 3 years and I always requested Sabi. The other women used to hit my opposite eye, used to take forever on each eyebrow, used to have the thread scrape against the bridge of my nose (which resulted in irritation and my skin peeling) or used to cut my upper lip with the thread... Hence... 3 stars. If Sabi wasn't there, I would leave and come back. Then one day, Sabi must not have been paying attention and ripped a portion of my eyelashes out! It was incredibly painful. Stumbled across this tiny place by accident, and bravely went in ...blind ...so-to-speak. Sabi is sweet and knows what she is doing. I normally go to Ziba, but they have gotten so inconsistent that my eyebrows are now crooked! Sabi looked at me, told me what she would do to fix them, and then quickly got to work. I was out of there in minutes. I'm very pleased and happy to have found this place not too far from my home! I'd give it a five for service, but gave the 4 simply because of my personal preferences on the look and feel of business establishments. It was clean, but there was incense burning (which makes me sneeze) and lots of tchotchkes I could do without. Service was wonderful, though. Check this place out. read more

Not happy with my experience at Sabi's today. I only went there because I had completed my frequent use card so I was looking forward to getting my eyebrows done for free only to be told she wouldn't honor my card. She lied and said they stopped taking the cards a long time ago and would only give me 50% off. No where is it posted that she is no longer honoring the cards therefore it was really poor customer service on her part to not take the card. I was never all that thrilled with her eyebrow skills anyway, as she is too rough. I eventually found a young girl that worked in her shop that I liked but it appears she has left. Then there's an older lady that works there but is just okay. With all that said I won't be back to Sabi's. It's time to find a new threader. read more

I got tired of making the trip to Vinita's all the way in Cerritos and I decided to check out this place based on the other Yelp reviews. Came in today for a much needed threading. Well...yes my eyebrows turned into caterpillars and they were about to cocoon and butterfly out! Sabi is effin' amazing, friendly, and she LISTENS to what you want. My eyebrows turned out wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anything better. This will be my new go-to spot. I would've been here sooner if it werent so hard to find (Sabi's been opened up for 2 years!!! I've been wasting gas money driving all the way to Vinita's), but the location of the place makes it very easy to miss. It's hidden in the same plaza as Pete's Burger on Carson/Orange. Its walking distance from my house so when I need to fix my eyebrows quick and not drive too far, I come here. I'm giving it 3 stars because i feel like every time I walk in I'm being rushed on my face & they don't talk to me like they talk to the other customers that walk in. I get one of the three scenarios: Sit.....quickly finish my brows.....silence.....get up pay. or i get: Sit.....talk to OTHER customers while doing MY brows.....finish brows....get up pay. or i get: Sit.....talk to other coworker in Hindi.....finish brows....get up pay. Ive waited in line to get my brows done, and while waiting i watch them as they talk to every client that they are doing the eyebrows for by asking them how their day was or something of that sort...just basically being friendly... but when its my turn its completely different. :( They have punch cards so i think for every 10 you get one free. So I finished 10, and i give her my card to redeem it. The lady looks at me, and gives a big sigh and says, you don't get a stamp today okay?! does she really think I'm THAT CHEAP or DUMB?! no crap lady, duh! I just wanna get my 11th eyebrow threading for free. Way to treat your valued customer! LOL! I cant really complain that much, because they do an awesome job with my eyebrows, & never really effed it up, but the service kinda sucks. i don't know if its just me that they don't wanna talk to, or if its cuz I'm asian....lol (cuz when a non asian person comes in....they get all OH HIII LONG TIME NO SEE SWEETIE!!!) I have been searching high and low for a good threading place here in LB since I get lazy driving to Cerritos for it. My eyebrows don't have that natural arch and it's frustrating! It's tucked away on this strip mall where pete's burger is at on orange and Carson and off I went without a reservation. I have been coming to Sabi every since she was working for another place. She opened her own place and me and my wife have been coming here ever since it's been years. Today I went in to get my eyebrows done and there was an older lady there doing eyebrows I am in a rush so we just got them done I have to say this was the worst experience I have ever had. It felt like torture my eyebrows look like s*** I didn't want the lady to even attempt to fix them because it hurts so much.
