Tiny little fun cozy bar!! Went to hear a friend's band play and eat bar food!!! The food did not disappoint! We each had a burger with excellent onion rings and fries. Well made and delicious!!! Sabby's is a great little bar. It's been around forever and it's a staple in the Saint Clair Shores community. What I like about the place is how welcoming everyone is. I came on a busy Saturday night which is one of their karaoke nights. They were also celebrating a birthday for a friend of mine so it was a full house. Everyone gets along, everyone is gracious while they're waiting in line for a drink but most importantly the food and the drinks are good here. I tried their smoked wings and was impressed. None of those small little wings. These were good size and smoked instead of deep fried. They still retained that crispy outer layer that I love but juicy inside though. It looks like they had a pretty good menu including a sirloin steak with sides. A few people mentioned the burgers were excellent as well. Prices are reasonable too. The bartenders working behind the bar were quick and friendly. You never had to wait more than a minute to order another drink. They handled a big crowd with ease and it was fun to listen to the singers here. I've been too quite a few karaoke bars in the metro Detroit area especially on the east side but Sabby's has some pretty talented singers which was a pleasant surprise. The food and the service were very good. This is kind of your typical bar that serves food, not a lot of frills and kind of basic beer selections from what I could tell. My husband ordered a basket of the chicken strips since they were out of wings. I was pretty impressed with them. Nice breading and flavor, didn't seem or taste like something that frozen My burger was good, nice toasted bun, the onion rings were also really good. All the food came out piping hot and the beers were cold. Probably the only downside was that it was a little pricey. My burger and onion rings were $16 but I did add bacon. Horrible service. Sunday evening around 6. Sat outside. Got 2 diet cokes, ordered cheese sticks. She brought the app out, 1 dirt coke was more like ginger ale...watery. asked for new DIet. Never saw waitress again. Went inside to bartender. She tries Diet, says it out. I go back outside. I asked staff member to get our check, we never got orders taken, plates, silverware, not even a napkin. Waitress say " They're cheeseticks!". Sabby's Lounge is a typical neighborhood bar on Metro Detroit's Eastside, located at the corner of 10 Mile Rd and Harper Ave. in St. Clair Shores. On an average weeknight, there are regulars and a few locals stopping in to catch a Tigers baseball game on one of several TVs or to grab a bite to eat at the bar. The bar has a fun, laid back atmosphere. It seems like just about anybody would be welcome here. I haven't tried the food, but what I've seen looks good. In one word : AWFUL I wonder : Who is in charge here? Do they care about the guests? What is the standard of service? I seldom have the opportunity to visit the competition, and of course when I do : my expectations are high. I am the customer; my business should be appreciated. I had just finished a long day of work and I simply wanted a quick cocktail and table alone to relax. I went directly to the bar which had 4 people behind it. The first person to acknowledged me was the male worker, who gestured for me to proceed to the end of bar rail for service. I quickly complied and waited for his undivided attention so I could place my order. As I waited, I heard several people asking for ..... drumroll......SERVICE!! Not a good sign....it was not busy (less than 50 people for sure) and I had not seen any wait staff at all, just the 4 people behind the bar. When the guy finally got close enough, I couldn't help but notice that he had this weird look on his face like he was lost or confused-- when I politely asked for a jack and coke - he just smiled --- I then asked 'what do I need to do to get a drink in here?' He proceeded to tell me that I needed to ask the guy sitting next to where I was standing??? Hum, was this a joke? Or was this person in charge of the alcohol? I just sat there for a few seconds before asking the guy behind the bar if he could or could not get me a drink- his reply was 'no' .... he smiled and began talking to one of the ladies behind the bar. She was dancing around, laughing now, and I wondered was she even an employee? I continued to wait for an actual employee, and eventually a bartender took my order-- I paid for my drink - left a 40% tip -and I made my way to patio area- I choose one of the very back tables, as they were empty and I did not want to be bothered. I had not even taken a second sip when a guy sat down right by me. He immediately started talking and I tried to remain polite-- He was obliviously impaired, so I began to ignore him- He kept talking and then he got very creepy/ weird/ and scary- He pulled his chair closer to me and declared ' pleasure and rage' are alike to him- What in the hell? I asked him to stop talking to me, but I was forced to relocate at other end of patio- when he returned to inside bar, I reclaimed my spot near the back of bar- but less than a minute later he appeared again- I looked out from back patio and noticed another set of chairs - a lady was seated there and I asked if I could join her- I told her about the creep and she said - sit her with me - we had a nice conversation: she was a Sabby's employee - but I didn't hold it against her.. She said they was getting ready to do last call & asked if I wanted to drink a shot with Her- then out of nowhere this crazy lady came up - removed my drink/ and proceeded to tell me I could not drink in that area - Are u kidding? This was a new concept: this area is : reserved for employee alcohol consumption!! I followed the lady with my drink back inside the restaurant- she was so rude & obnoxious- when I asked her why she treated me like a criminal? I told her the other employee told me it was okay to sit with her and drink - I didn't know that area was employee drinking only!! What a joke - worse yet - I asked the server who took my drink if I could please get a shot - She look annoyed but replied yes - But not right now -- she had a bad day and she was taking a break ?? Sabby's: Shame on you!! Everything was wrong - your employees think they are more important than the guests - they don't follow policy - you allow non employees behind bar,-and just so you know - I never got that shot::the waitress went on break before last call - she was stressed out - how inappropriate/ unprofessional/ and completely disrespectful I was your guest - I worked a 15 hour day and got treated like an inconvenient visitor -- Your bar needs to retrain staff Monitor the alcohol area And fire the guy who acts like he is a bartender- along with Steve (the guy sitting a end of bar whoi was told had to approve of me even getting a drink (later I heard this guy's name) This visit was a real eye opener- Never again read more

Great fish on Fridays! Get there early it goes fast. The whole menu is very tasty and they have good drink specials.

It only gets better, they now have Piedmontese(?) beef hamburgers available and boy are they yummy. Ordered one on a pretzel roll(also yummy) 2/3 lb for $9ish which included fries and a beer. I wish I could have finished it but just couldn't stuff it in anymore, well not after a cup of good warm chili to start things off. Friendly staff and very clean restrooms etc. Great daily specials, todays was filet and a lobster tail, pot, soup and salad for $14, how can you beat that??? Decent prices, average food, good service. Was there for dinner one night. I had the frisco patty melt and wife had a regular cheeseburger. Patty melt was slightly below average and wife liked her burger a lot. Other people in the party seemed to like their food okay. Only hiccup is that someone's wings came out looking, and tasting, burnt. They were sent back and another batch came back out alright. Great, local, family-owned place. Rocky is a classic karaoke rock dawg. Great sound and he's just a great karaoke host. The crowd is rambunctious but friendly and fun. I never feel in danger or on edge like some places. Pitcher prices are very affordable, and the food is solid and comes out fast and hot if you're hungry. We went there with my Mom on St Patrick's Day and they were so sweet they just straight out gave us a couple of bitchin bright green Sabbys St Paddy's Day shirts just for showing up. Tonight was our first time at Sabby's. We love a dive bar so the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Since they claim that their bugers are famous we decided to go for it! My husband ordered the Double Decker. I ordered The Big Richard. Mine seemed to be as described on the menu. His was not exactly as described. Both burgers were overcooked and dry. We ordered a basket of fries. We didn't get almost $5 worth of fries. Their drink specials are good. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. We definitely will go back for drinks. I had a bad experience here a few years ago but thought I should give this place another chance since I moved closer. That was a bad idea. I received some of the worst customer service I have had in a long time. First off, the people seated five minutes after us got their orders take first because they knew the server. Next our server did not write our orders down and forgot my partners order. She served me my food without his - I HAD TO BRING IT TO HER ATTENTION THAT HE WASN'T SERVED HIS FOOD. She then lied and said she didn't forget to put his order in and that the kitchen was really backed up even though we were one of three tables in the whole place. Do not waste you money or time here.
