We have been going to Comet Burger in Royal Oak for years. We loved the new owner and he told us he opened up a spot closer to us. We haven't had the chance to stop by. Today was the day we got to finally stop by. They have seating outside and a drive thru. It is pretty cold out so we went through the drive-thru. It didn't take a super long time to order our food. They had the same food as the other location. It is a cute little spot. My husband ordered space cowboy burger and it is his favorite. I got a comet slider and it was delicious. The fries were good but to be honest I am going to admit they taste even better at the other location. The service was amazing. The lady working told us that she loves the owner. Meat is brought in fresh every day. The fries are dropped fresh every time as well. We would love to come visit again soon. read more

Ayyy! Yelp will actually let me review something that's permanently closed, for the time being at least. So very unsurprised by this closure. As everyone and their mother has already pointed out their prices were too damn high! It's one thing to pay more to go to a sit down burger joint in Royal Oak where you get to soak in that classic 50s theme all around you with extensive decor but what's the point when it's a former Checker's in St. Clair Shores with only a drive thru and a couple of outside tables with zero ambiance. You can sit and look over at the Burger King where everything would have been cheaper. Or at least you could. The food isn't that special to justify the extra expense. Went here a couple times which was one too many and the grub didn't seem nearly as good as the OG Comet Burger in Royal Oak. Me typing out this review is the very definition of beating a dead horse and I got over a hundred other things to review but I just couldn't resist. read more

We did a call-in order of a particularly large order for pickup for about 10 people, I was impressed because it only took about 15 minutes and when we got there it was ready. Not to mention the call in process went smoothly with the employee on the phone. Although they did give us something we didn't order and missed two things, they quickly fixed it and able to cook it up fast and give it to us. Good thing we checked our order before we left, but their service was good and fast! My family enjoyed their food. I ordered their grilled chicken salad and it was actually a pretty large portion. We ordered burgers, tuna melts, seasoned fries, wing dings, chicken tenders and onion rings. They had a nice variety on the menu to choose from. Everyone enjoyed their food for this small drive up takeout. My family has been coming back and will be coming back here to try different things! read more

I went through the drive thru to order and take home to eat. The drive thru is a little slow but they are making the burgers fresh so it is worth the extra wait time. The burgers are juicy and delicious. The only drawback on Comet Burgers is they are pricey. But that seems to be the trend everywhere. Try them, you will like them. read more

While on a late-night drive, I had a craving for French fries. I drove past Comet Burger, which I had waited for to open last summer. Not sure when they opened. I pulled into the drive-through and located the fries on the menu. I ordered the garlic parmesan fries. For $6.50, I thought I would have received more fries than I did, but it was an okay amount. My fries were well seasoned, crunchy, and soft at the same time, and you get this garlic mayo sauce with them. It took a while for me to receive my order, but the gentleman at the counter explained that everything is fresh to order and suggested that next time if I want to try their online ordering. Good fresh food, polite staff, and they played some good tunes over the speakers. The only knock is the cost. Inflation sucks. read more

A very good hamburger place serving them up fresh. I had the Don Lon Burger, which is a 1/3 Lb. Burger (their standard burger size), topped with grilled onions, bacon, fried egg, american cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, and Comet Burger sauce ($13), among with their onion rings ($6). The hamburger was large and well-cooked and the toppings were all fresh. The onion rings were well-flavored and crisp, not soggy (a pet peeve of mine ). This isn't inexpensive fast food, averaging about $20 a person, but the flavor and quality make up for it. Ordered online and their website was very user friendly and easy to find detail info for menu items Ordered "Comet Loaded Fries" which was decent. Cheddar sauce, thousand island dressing and griddled onions on top of there fries. Gotta say have had better variations of this. "Cuzzy Burger" - basalmic onion jam, Gruyère cheese, garlic mayo and zip sauce. This was a very tasty burger which I would recommend. My only gripe is it came well done. Would have like choice for how well cooked burger. Prefer my burger medium well Ordered a Reese's Shake which was very creamy and perfect consistency of peanut butter ratio for perfect taste. I've been waiting for a long time for this place to open. Tonight I finally got to try it. I ordered from their website, which was very easy to use and pay with Apple Pay. When I arrived to the restaurant, my order was ready and I was in and out within 30 seconds. I ordered the chilly cheese fries soft and a Jupiter burger. The fries were perfectly cooked and tasted just like you'd expect chili cheese fries. The burger was cooked well but poorly seasoned. It had no flavor at all. It's like they didn't even put salt and pepper on the patty at the very least. At $17.49 for 2 items and no drink, I would expect the food to be at least good. To be honest the only thing they have going for them is that you can order your food online and pick it up so fast. I moved to Saint Clair Shores last year and I always passed by this restaurant called "Comet Burgers". I always want to try this burger so badly until few days ago, it finally open in Saint Clair Shores! We went there drive through and ordered the top award of burger called "Cuzzy Burger" and Comet Loaded Fries. It was absolutely delicious and amazing, we would like to order it again. It is way better than Mcdonald or Burger King or Tastyee's Burger in my opinion. The other thing we went drive through because we didn't want to order it at outside since it was super cold. We worried about drive through because we are deaf where we aren't able to communicate so we used our phone to type on noteapp to order what we want and they were so super FRIENDLY, and we relieved!
