We already know I love Saba To Go from my previous review. Now I love Saba the restaurant too. I was there for the first time ever with the husband and a couple of friends. As a starter I shared the squid (husband doesn't eat it so I was glad I found a calamari sharing friend) and I want to say they were the best ever. So I'll say it: best ever. The presentation was pretty neat, they came in what looked like a newspaper (see photo) and with a nice chilli dipping sauce. The massaman as a main was nice too, as tested before with the take away, the portion very generous. The waitress was lovely, knew her stuff and was very attentive - some of us were pretty annoying (not me!) so thumbs up to her. The place feels very welcoming, quite dark but not in a bad way, with framed pictures all around the room.

The place is nice but there are better places to eat thai, we tried two curries and was quite average.

You order at the counter and they bring your food over to your table. It looked to me like they can seat 40 people or so. The interior is a pleasant mix of brick and paneling with some very cool artwork on the walls, like an image of someone walking holding a giant pole on their shoulders with a big basket on each side. I also saw a big mural of a guy with a toothy grin smiling at the dining room. The menu is pretty big and pretty reasonable -eleven appetizers at no more than six and a half Euros, if you don't count the Selection Box for Two (€12). They also offer three soups, three salads, five curries, seven noodle dishes, seven stir fries, five fried rice dishes, four House Specialties, ten sides, and even a children's menu of four things like peanut noodles and sweet and sour chicken. You can also buy their dipping sauces by the bottle. We started off by splitting an appetizer of Phukett Tiger Prawns (€6.50 for 4 pieces) which we really enjoyed. It was a shrimp stuffed with diced chicken and ginger, wrapped in a pastry and served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Simple and delicious! Our entrees were 1) Pad Thai served with chicken and shrimp instead of the usual one or the other. It ran (€12) and was delicious, and 2) Pad King Beef (also €12). The Pad King was a delicious stir fry of ginger, mushrooms, bok choy, scallions, and of course plenty of tender beef slices served with a bowl of rice. It was wonderful. Our food for two cost just €30.50, or about $37 -not bad for a big city dinner.

Shrimp and vegetables were cooked perfectly even w takeout time. I have mostly kept only Thai dishes. Oh, spicy chicken wings were fantastic - goes well with beer or white wine.
