Visited this quiet, oasis of a restaurant tonight. Steps away from a very busy Talbot street, the quiet of the place was so welcome. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. We started with veggie rolls that were amazing. The greens and carrots topped with the house dressing garnished the plate and about stole the show. I ordered Pad Sew Ew. Large portion came out quickly made with plenty of veggies and tender beef. I asked for siracha and was brought a house made chili garlic sauce that was the best I have ever tasted. My sisters also ordered noodle dishes and were very happy with their choices. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection, not greasy and very flavorful. If you're looking for solid, well priced Thai in Dublin, this is your spot. Cannot recommend highly enough. Gréât little spot off the beaten path, but easily accessible from many points in Dublin. A nice change from the abundance of Irish stews and other pub grub options. I was a single diner and was immediately seated on a late Sunday evening, but there were only a few tables open. Food was fresh, plentiful and balanced with flavor and spice. Just the perfect place get some quick Thai especially if you are in the area. Great customer service and welcoming employees. With almost at capacity they were attentive and got my food to my table in a reasonable amount of time. I picked the wanton bag and Tom Yum Gai (soup) for a quick dinner. Wonton: Having had American style wontons, I was really impressed how fresh and delicious the chicken was in these wontons. The outer pastry was golden, crispy and not greasy. The dipping sauce was sweet and light I can drink it by it self ( I did not haha). The dish also came with a small side salad. It might be garnish but had a small dressing on top so I enjoyed it quite well. Tom Yum Gai: this is a spicy medium sized soup with fresh mushrooms, grape tomatoes, sea weed, chicken and chives. It had a spicy flavor indeed and of course the chives added good flavor as well. Apart from that it decently oily as it should be. I would've preferred the mushrooms to be cooked a little longer as they were a little on the crunchy side. Although they did not have the mushroom taste which was great. The tomatoes also kept their taste but that's pleasant as it adds a burst of flavor. Chicken was well cooked and a great add. Overall it was a cheap and great soup especially for when it is cold outside. I gave this place 5 stars for their speedy service even when it was busy. May I say it was just two people serving the whole place without any busboy. Top mark to this place. read more

This place was awesome, we came because it was right across the street from Molloy's pub and were very impressed. The service was great and the food came out very fast. The waitress recommended the special fried rice as her go-to favorite and it was absolutely amazing. The duck rolls were very flavorful as well and perfectly held together. This place is quite a find! I had checked out the reviews on Yelp and everyone seemed happy with their meal and the quality of food. The restaurant is not right in the middle of the city centre- it's about a 10-15 minute walk or €7 taxi ride from College street, but believe me, it's worth it! We started with the sharing platter which was one of the best I have had- delicious chicken satay, calamari, parcels, wings, sweet corn cakes, dips and salad- fantastic! I then had the beef red thai curry with steamed rice which was quite spicy but delicious. You can ask for the meal to be mild or medium which I will do next time. I had a lovely glass of Sauvignon blanc which washed things down nicely. This was a highlight of my trip and I look forward to visiting it again! read more

I ate here with a friend when she suggested it for lunch. Despite having worked nearby I hadn't known it was there. It's a really nice Thai restaurant with good food - and they usually do a special which is 8 or 9 euro. For a place that's a bit off the beaten track it certainly filled up at lunch time, which just goes to show you that these things get around. The food is obviously Thai and a little more authentic than you'll get in a lot of places. However it's a small enough restaurant and the tables are very close together, which is fine for lunch but would not make it an ideal place for a romantic dinner! read more

This is a great little Thai place in a totally unexpected place. The place is quaint so it fills up quickly, but the food is definitely worth trying to get a spot here. My friend and I shared the Thai Spice platter and boy were we glad we got it! At a very reasonable €5 each we got our fill of chicken satay, spring rolls and chicken wings, and on and on. Trying not to pig out too much we also shared an entree. We chose the Chicken Pad Panang. It was gorgeous and a lot more authentic than a lot of the other Thai places I've eaten at in Dublin. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I really don't think there is a better value menu in town: 2x starter, 2x main and bottle of wine (or 4 beers) for 42 euro. Nothing really tickled our fancy though on this menu, so we went a la carte instead. My friend went for the special curry of the day (a green curry for only 9 euro including rice- ! They seem to have a different 9€ special on every day) and I opted for one of my all time favourites: Red Duck curry. It did not disappoint, it was loaded with duck (and no fatty bits!), pineapple, grapes and peppers. nom. Include the rice and it set me back 16 euro. We shared the Banoffee. The lazy man's version of a banoffee: crumbled biscuits in a glass and banana/ toffee/ cream thrown on top. MEH! Could have made a better Banoffee at home to be honest. This place is just around the corner from work and a great old reliable if feeling peckish at a certain time of night. Which as it happens, was last night!! I went for the Thai spice platter which consisted of chicken satay skewers, spring rolls, chicken wings, wontons, vegetables in batter and calamari with olum sauce. All for the princely sum of €12. OK so this really is my favourite Thai restaurant in Dublin (Saba coming a very close second). Thai Spice wins over Saba though because of the relaxed and extremely friendly vibe to this place. Also how crazy cheap this place is. The menu may not be as diverse and "cool" as Saba but its substantial and although I have never been to Thailand I believe the food to be very authentic, especially in comparison to the other bland Thai offerings Dublin seems to have on offer. They do a daily special which includes rice for 9 euro. Big portion too. They also have an anytime deal of 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of house wine for 39 euro. I have tried most things on the menu but for the dinner special I would always go with Tom Yum Gai for starter and the Phad Talay (a hot fish stir fry) for the main. Both of these dished are pretty spicy, I generally ask for the dishes to be extra spicy and boy do they come out blowing your head off. ^_^ My favourite dish is the Laab Namtok... This is the hottest dish on the menu. AMAZEBALLS...... Chilli, lime and mint leaves throughout. I usually go with beef for this. Nom noms..... The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is fab. This is a small restaurant and tables are close together as said in a previous review but it is in no way cramped. They have a beer garden at the back and is fantastic if you get a good summers afternoon/evening. I have had many work lunches in this beer garden in the summer months of 2010. Also a few evenings drinking some beers and having some Laab Namtok. Heaven!!! These guys also deliver to the local area. They have a sister restaurant in Stoneybatter. I really enjoyed this lovely little spot just off Talbot Street! With some lovely authentic Thai food and a great selection of beer to accompany it its hard to fault this place at all, the only reason they didn't make the 5 star mark is the location, it's not a part of town I like very much and to be honest its a bit dodgey! We stated with a platter allowing us to sample a range of starters, this was perfect for me as a Thai virgin and it really gave me a good feel for the cuisine. For a main I had a lovely beef dish (I won't even try to spell it, I couldn't even take a run at pronouncing it on the night but luckily they provide numbers to order by). The calamari and vegetable rolls were fresh served with the perfect sauces to match. The pad kee mow was cooked perfectly full of flavor and spice. The gang dang (ordered extra spicy) was great, lots of fresh veggies and the perfect amount of spice. Loved the curry. We split a bonnafi for dessert which was a great end to the meal. The house red wine that was included was fruitful and served our needs just fine. Couldn't beat the deal anywhere! Having worked in a Thai restaurant for a couple of years when I was a student, I found the food was the most wonderful cure after a heavy night out. One of the chef's used to love when I had a particularly big night the night before as I would get her to make the dishes so hot they would almost blow my head off. Guaranteed cure every time. Thai spice has that cure in the form of the Laab, it's on the border of being too hot but just holds back from the edge. It's not for the faint hearted so be warned, it can cause excessive sweating - great for fast tracking the flushing of alcohol toxins away. If I'm craving comfort food, the Special fried rice is the perfect dish for this, it's not spicy at all, just like getting a big hug of rice, with plenty of fresh veg, chicken, pork and prawns, so a bit of everything. The Pad Thai is also a good choice, sticky flat noodles with plenty of fat prawns, chicken and chunks of tofu, I would say that it's one of the best in Dublin. The only negative comment I can make is the interiors are a little like someone's living room, but it's substance over style here as it is comfortable. Service has always been excellent any time I've sat in, although I normally go for a take away, which is the guts of a quick 5mins. Excellent for the impatient. read more

Grand local eatery for the odd lunchtime treat. You either have the 12.15 or the 1.15 booking and if you're not gone by the agreed time you will be presented with your bill as a not so subtle hint to make a move! Staff are very personable and friendly. Food is ok, have had better, have had worse. I had a duck curry and while it was tasty, the sauce was quite watery and it could have done without the grapes thrown into it! Have never had grapes in a curry before (stalks and all!) and wouldn't be keen on this addition again. It's a tiny little restaurant so it can get a bit squashy, where I was sitting with my back to people coming in I was continuously being brushed against as people squeezed past to get to their tables. I'd go back again as it's one of the only decent places to get a nice lunch close to my work but it wouldn't be top of my list. read more

The food here is amazing, some of the best Thai food I've had in Ireland. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is just that right level of cozy that you can't help but feel compelled to stay for dessert (even if you promised yourself you wouldn't have any). I've gotten friends of mine hooked on the food here and they are always shocked at the low prices. They have a wonderful delivery service as well and your food always gets to you long before it even starts to go cold. All in all this is my favourite place for Thai in Dublin and I hope you partake as well. read more

Excellent atmosphere and authentic Thai cuisine! I just happened to stumble in while waiting for my train to arrive at Connolly and I was pleasantly surprised. They play smooth jazz with accompanying decoration and the seating is very comfortable and casual. Prices were reasonable: about 13 euro for main dishes, 5.50 for beer, and they have a dinner for 2 for 42 euro that includes two appetizers, 2 mains, and a bottle of wine. When we walked down the street to this little restaurant I wasn't so sure and just looking at it from the outside I was not convinced. We sat down, I had a look at the menu and there was loads to choose from. I couldn't make up my mind. They all sounded delish, from currys to stir frys and European dishs too. The staff were excellent very friendly. The presentation of the food was brillent and the flavours oh my, I got the gang dang witch is a red curry the veg was very fresh cooked perfectly with still that crunch the different flavours popping in my mouth I could not get enough of it. I was well surprised at how good the food was everything was just perfect from start to finish. I do not have one complaint. I rarely go to non halal places in Dublin but decided to give this one a go this evening. The menu was filled with Seafood and I like to have them once in a while. Started the course with some nice fried calamari with sweet chilli sauce. I love calamari and hadn't had some in a good while. It was very very nice and the decoration that came with it was pretty. For the main course I had stir fried prawns and vegetables with soya sauce and black pepper. It came with fried rice or noodles, I went for the noodles and they were succulent and so fresh. The staffs were very welcoming and friendly. Only downfall was that the restaurant was a bit small and the chairs and tables are right next to each other. But thankfully it wasn't that busy, but I'm assuming on busy nights you might not that a lot of space. Other than that it was a great experience with great Thai food and quite affordable. read more

I had a dealrush voucher for here & tried it on Friday night Paddys weekend. The restaurant is small and basic, but cosy and a decent room. Our waitress was friendly & knew the menu very well. In response to my queries about gluten friendliness, she said they would adapt anything on the menu, except things in batter. Now thats what I like to hear. My starter of chicken satay was possibly the nicest Ive ever had, with lots of delicious peanuty sauce. My date enjoyed his prawns but had food envy. For main I had a spicey beef salad thing, zingy and tasty. And the stirfry my partner had was yum. Our wine was also reasonably decent. I'd definitely go back as its great value & tasty food.
