Their rep insisted on a 3-year contract at the last minute, even after I explained I was planning to move. He became passive-aggressive when I declined. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for reliable home security.

They did not tell him he had to send them a letter to cancel. We had had their service for several years before cancelling so we were on a month to month basis. our equipment malfunctioned or had stopped working altogether and they acknowledged that fact. The service had been turned off according to their equipment . In fact their faulty equipment had been collected by one of their employees. They refused to refund us for the year 2023 when we had no service. I sent them a letter of cancellation a that point only to have them e-ing, texting, and calling wanting us to sign up again and they would sell us new equipment that worked and not out dated as they referred to our old equipment. This went on for a month even though we told them never again would we sign with their company.

This review serves as a formal public complaint regarding my experience with ADT and its billing…read morepractices. I was charged for services and/or fees that I did not authorize and that appear inconsistent with my agreement. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter through customer service, I have not received a clear explanation, proper investigation, or satisfactory resolution. The responses provided were inconsistent and failed to address the specific billing discrepancies raised. As a consumer, I expect transparency, accurate billing, and good-faith efforts to correct potential errors. Instead, I experienced significant difficulty obtaining accountability or meaningful assistance. Unauthorized or unexplained charges raise serious concerns regarding billing oversight and consumer protection compliance. Unless this matter is promptly reviewed and corrected, I am prepared to pursue further action, including formal complaints with consumer protection agencies and regulatory authorities. I strongly encourage prospective customers to carefully review all contractual terms and closely monitor billing statements when dealing with ADT.

I have used ADT for several years and have always been unhappy. The only reason I have stayed with…read morethem is that I have considerable fixed cost for their initial equipment. Nevertheless I am now switching. There equipment is terrible. Just changing a battery in one of their sensors is a nightmare. It takes weeks to get a service call. After changing a smoke detector battery and could not get it to seat correctly. The design of this is terrible, making it almost impossible to remove or replace. As I tried to replace the smoke detector it got stuck, requiring a service call to fix. That involves an almost $60 service call and a wait of three weeks. I have had many similar problems in the past. Also, it gripes me that anyone with a camera (even a doorbell camera) must pay DOUBLE the monthly rate, even though this does not involve any extra cost or effort at ADT.

I…read morewas a customer of the former company for over 16 years and never had anything but great things to say about them. Have referred them to many people and businesses. This new company is based out of state and just isn't a great fit for the community. There's no real connection to Nevada and the Reno-Sparks business community. Talking with many others, I've learned that a lot of people are leaving this company and working with other locally based alarm businesses. I recommend that you find someone truly local for your alarm needs.

Customer focus LOST in move to Mountain Alarm from Burgarello! We had been customers for 11 years,…read morewith both companies, but not anymore. Don't let them rip you off! We received an automated phone message that their system was not talking to our alarm, so we no longer were being monitored. When we finally reached a real person, they said we needed to pay a significant amount for a service call to determine the problem, even though they did not know what caused the outage, after working fine for 11 years. We decided to change alarm monitoring companies, finding more service and less expense, and since Mountain Alarm has raised their rates 22% from 2019. Since we were required to pay in advance, we asked for reimbursement for the time their services were not provided due to the unknown technical issue, but they refused. We requested a call from the GM or Supervisor, but just heard back from the person who answers the phone, with a bullshit rationale for why they were keeping our money that they did not earn. We suggest that management needs to either be accessible or empower their employees to make customer service a priority. Don't get caught by excessive charges after you sign up for their alarm monitoring, Mountain Alarm is not the highly ethical Burgarello anymore!!
