So the family decided to take a walk with the dog to the local donut store one spring morning. Its not the donut store we usually come to but we wanted a new adventure. It was a good distance and we all worked up an appetite. We arrived looking for some good donuts. I was craving something bigger, like a ham and cheese crossiant or a bagel sandwich. There was no one else inside but we took turns waiting outside with the dog, and everyone placed their order in turn. I must say, I was a little disappointed with our options. The kids were easy enough to please but I found the food to be, well, plain. There were limited donut options. I went with a ham and cheese crossiant because the only bagels they had were plain. The crossiant was significantly smaller than what I'm used to and the taste I found to be average. The service was ok. I did notice that no matter how happy or friendly we were, none of us ever received a smile. I feel like smiles are easy and go a long way, even more so in the service industry, so I was a bit disappointed to feel like we were annoying the staff. We ended up taking the food outside and had a nice time just hanging out together and talking but I can't really say that was a direct result of the donut shop. We'll probably go back to our normal shop next time. read more

S&S has some of the best donuts in SCV. There are multiple locations around so you can get one close to you. This location is in the same parking lot as the 99 cent store, for reference. They must have sold a lot before we got there because the selection was dwindling. The guy in front of us cleaned them out of scones...thanks buddy. They have good scones too. Great donut spot for foodies! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES. I have always been a huge fan of S&S Donuts! Every time I come to Santa Clarita I try and stop by to get the family a morning sweet treat. These donuts are always so fresh and fluffy, they practically melt in your mouth. My personal favorite is the plain glazed donut, you can't go wrong with it. The owners who work here are so nice and friendly, they are currently abiding by CDC guidelines. You must wear a mask to enter. They are located in a huge parking lot for finding a spot will never be an issue. Prices are very reasonable averaging around $1.25 per donut. I think it is a steal for the taste and freshness! I also like to give a nice tip because these are kind hard working owners. Outside the environment is in a small vicinity. Upon entering, expect to pay over 1$ for each donut. I paid over 40$ for two dozen donuts! Cmon Santa Clarita! Had to pay for them for a party and was hoping donuts weren't so overpriced. Pictures will be shown. The service was very average. The lady at the counter was very annoyed that a customer came in early in the morning while she was taking a nap in the back. I rang the bell and sensed the bell by opening the door multiple times. It finally woke her up and she came to get me the donuts. Drinks? Milk, sunny d, water and coffee, expect a hefty price tag. I was going to buy a half dozen of sunny d and guess what, 12.99$!!! What the heck bro. My experience here was disappointing. Below average service and high prices, no wonder they are still in business, taking huge profits from customers, well this is my final time coming here and hopefully you take my advice. read more

I was lucky enough to have these donuts for free for several years through my local church, which also started my love for cinnamon roll donuts. I've honestly tried lots of cinnamon roll donuts from some of the best donut shops across cities and still have not found the way that S & S do it. And tbh, I actually never really liked donuts until my mid-20's and even now, the fried-ness (which I know is the point), sometimes makes me yak, but the way S & S donuts do it, they make it fresh and the dough itself is slightly chewy, which I think most donut shops miss that part of the eating process. **Many reviewers have complained about the price, but I for the flavor and the elasticity of donuty-goodness, I'm all in. read more

About a week late reviewing this location, our last donut sampling, and a first time from this particular S & S location. My wife usually frequents the one on Soledad, but since she was in the neighborhood, convenient. She brought home a half dozen of our favorites; glazed, buttermilk and twists and every bit as tasty as the other shop. The one drawback was them being placed in a bag rather then a box. Leading to crumbling bits and pieces by the time she arrived home, some of which I first thought were donut holes. No donut holes, just broken buttermilk donuts. I ordered a custom cake for my birthday and was so impressed with it. We have always come here for the donuts (which are delicious!) and I would notice super cute sprinkle cakes in the display. This year for my bday my one request was a cake from S&S. When placing the order, I was pleasantly surprised that you get to customize the entire cake! I was able to chose my cake flavor, filling flavor, and even my sprinkle colors. I chose a marble cake with chocolate mousse filling, very yummy. They added a super cute fondant message banner (I smudged it in transit, uhg) for no extra fee. Total for the cake was under $30 and served 5 people with plenty left over. I am a foodie who loves donuts and I have never found a donut place to compare with S&S. My family goes so often they know us and our usual orders. My favorite is the white cake donut with sprinkles. So moist!! They definitely do the cake donuts better than any other place I've found. Most places don't get them as moist as S&S. Some reviews I saw complained about the price but quite honestly if that's the price they need to charge to pay rent and stay in business I would gladly pay it -I'd even gladly pay double! This place doesn't have many reviews on yelp but it is super popular with locals and is one of those hidden gems that deserve recognition across SoCal as an artist in donut making. This is one of the quintessential neighborhood donut shops. It's reasonable in price with excellent customer service and a decor that makes one feel nostalgic. The donuts are really done very well and are quite delicious. Normally, other donut shops have sub-quality dough and try to hide that with sugar. At S&S Donuts their dough is prepared perfectly and boasts excellent quality. They have great breakfast sandwiches that are beyond whatever you can get from a drive-thru, and really delicious smoothies with a variety of flavors, from coconut to strawberry-banana. Went to this location due to convince and time. Normally we go to the S & S Donuts on Decoro. Not exactly sure why they charge 14.95 for a Dozen donuts which makes it more then $1.00 each when the Decoro location charges $10.00 a dozen. So I paid $30.40 (0.50 cent credit card charge) for two Dozen when I would ha e paid $20.00 at the other location. The only reason why this was frustrating is because they don't even advertise on their board how much a dozen is the price is blank. First and last time at this location. read more

Great donut/sweets and cookie shop. It's obviously very popular with the locals, and service is fast. Cookies for Fathers Day were outstanding with shaped and frosted saws, hammers and mustaches! Best eggrolls I've ever had at a donut shop. Wait, what? Yes, the friendly Asian lady behind the counter makes the eggrolls herself, and she told me she's been making this same recipe for 45 years. If you can imagine 45 years of homemade eggroll-making by a woman who looks like the Chinese grandma you never had (but wish you did), that is what these eggrolls taste like. They're $1.75 each and bigger than any eggrolls I've ever seen, loaded with a flavorful mixture of shredded carrots, cabbage, ground meat and who knows what else. I have been looking for a real egg roll (not the crappy spring rolls that are oh so popular out here in figure friendly LA) ever since i moved here from Chicago some 20+ years ago...and i find it in a donut shop?? Who'd a thunk it?? I came here a couple weeks before Christmas about 10:45am after reading the review from Derek T (thanks Derek!!) and thought i'd snag me an eggroll...but they were already out of them. OK, bummer...but i understand. It's a bakery and they make things fresh. I need to get here earlier. Unfortunately, i live in Canyon Country and i work super early hours...so i guess i'll have to try again when i have reason to be here. Fast forward 2 weeks...it's the Friday before Christmas and my work is having a holiday party. They don't serve food 'til sometime around 10AM, but the kids and i need a little nosh to hold us over. S&S Donuts here we come. I snagged 2 eggrolls that the lady behind the counter heated up for me, my daughter a chocolate bar, my son a sugar sprinkled twist. All i can say is OMFG!! I bit into one eggroll and i was instantly transported to Wayne Moy's chinese food on 63rd street in Chicago Ridge. It was so good. I let my daughter have a bite and she was also impressed. So much so, she begged me for the other half of the eggroll since i had to drive and couldn't continue eating it. Begrudgingly, i let her finish it. When i finally arrived at work, i scarffed down the other one...and i'm telling you...these are to die for!! Totally awesome. Next time, i will buy all the ones in the case!! The donuts were also great...atleast that's what my kids said. "this is my favorite donut place" is the exact quote from my son. Is a donut shop really about customer service? I never thought about it until reading these reviews. My usual experience goes a little something like this: Employee: (one or more of the following: greeting/look/smile/gesture) Me: Hi. I'd like a [whatever]. Employee: (gets it, gives it to me, names price). Me: (handing over money, taking bag). Thanks! En fin. I mean there are no overzealous greetings when I walk in, but I don't like those. And sometimes they don't say anything at all, but they look at you and get the tissue ready to get the donut! As for niceties, I know if I had to get up at some ridiculous hour to make donuts, my already-lacking people skills would nosedive. It does seem to be the only place in town that consistently has apple fritters on Sunday mornings. And I will drive across town to get one. I will say that there is a horrible rotten milk smell in the parking lot of this strip mall. My advice is to park close, hold your breath and make a run for the shop. And eggrolls? Really this place is a 3 star because there's only one lady who works there that's nice. Everyone else seems to hate me (it's okay, I'm used to it.) Also they prominently display a Christian fish on their business card - presumably meaning everyone else isn't welcome. But they've so far been pretty lax in checking - I'm a Bright and my wife is a Zoroastrian, and so far we've been served without incident. I just have to remember not to wear my "Christians are Hypocritical Assholes" t-shirt. But it's 4 stars cuz the goods are GOOD. The raised donuts are huge and fluffy. An awesome selection of specialty donuts including a chocolate chip topped twist that makes me very happy. They've got coffee drinks, tamales, eggrolls, cakes, and other junk but I haven't tried those. My Mom loves their scones (and she's Christian, so she'll always be welcome!) read more

S and S has the best filled croissants I have ever had. I found them back in 1987, I used to work at the pizza place next to them. When I moved the the SFV, I worked the graveyard shift and always tried to find a similar chocolate croissant. I criss crossed the valley hitting up all donut shops without luck. Thankfully my stay in the SFV was short and I live back here now. I can go to S&S when I want, though I have to eat sweet stuff more in moderation now. Reading the reviews on here, it looks like I should try one of those egg rolls I always eyed suspiciously in the case. The family who works here is quiet and keeps to themselves. My wife somehow knows them through school or something. When I went here with her one night, they really warmed up and were chatting with her. They do not take credit cards, which is a pain since I rarely carry cash. One other gripe is that they often run out of certain donuts early. If you have a favorite do not be surprised to find it gone sometimes by 9am. read more
