The new owner has ruined what used to be a great donut store. I'd drive 45 minutes to buy donuts there because I haven't been able to find a better donut shop in southern California. But yesterday, I made the 45 minute trip for the last time. The donuts used to be big, they had a lot of frosting on them, and they had this amazing donut that was glazed and then dipped in either chocolate or maple that were outstanding. Unfortunately, the owner retired and sold the donut shop to her nephew and he's ruined the business. Now they're just like every other donut shop. The donuts are smaller, they're very greasy, they now only have a small amount of frosting on the donuts, and he decided to no long offer the glazed donuts dipped in chocolate or maple. I also think he changed the Fritters donut recipe because they no longer taste as great as the recipe they had before. Their donuts have always been expensive, but it was worth it because the donuts were so amazing. Now they're still expensive but it's not worth it because the donuts are just like the crap donuts at every other donut shop, and so I won't be back. read more

it pains me to write this bc I have LOVED foster's for a very long time. The old owners were great & even the two young lady's that worked there recently have been nothing but sweet, but the new ownership has ruined it. The donuts are smaller for the same price, the taste is noticably different, and the overall vibes just aren't the same. I can only eat donuts occasionally, so it's important that I make good choices. This donut shop is terribly inconvenient for me, but well worth the drive. It's nothing fancy, just a few counters and old decor, like it's been around forever...which it has. Who cares what it looks like? Those counters are filled with a large assortment of the biggest and most beautiful donuts in the valley. The fritters and cinnamon rolls are the size of a plate. Do you want your cinnamon roll with icing or crumble topping? No problem, they have them. Buttermilk donuts and old-fashions? Choose chocolate, vanilla, maple, glazed or plain. All delicious. By the way...compared to other shops in town, they are a bargain, too. Probably the least expensive shop but delivering large, high-quality donuts baked on site. Service isn't overwhelmingly friendly, but it is prompt. Not worth ditching a star for, but smiley faces are better than not. Personally, I'm not going there to be friends, I'm there for the donuts and coffee, but a smile for everyone would definitely help. Strongly suggest this shop for donuts! read more

Foster's Donut is an old school donut shop. You walk in and it smells like fresh baked goods. This location is spotless and the owners are very friendly. Their menu consists of drinks, donuts ,shaved ice and a few other items. The donuts are large and fluffy . They have so many different varieties of flavors. She always makes friendly conversation with my special needs friend (who will sometimes say very unusual things) and with me, and also answers any questions we have . It seems some were uncomfortable when new management came in. But just because it's slightly different doesn't mean it's not good...working its way to wonderful. I've eaten at a bunch of different donut places in town. I don't make donuts and I don't know how to make a good donut... I'd imagine how often they change the oil and how long they let the dough sit around before cooking it all plays a factor, among many other details I couldn't guess, but these seem fresher and tastier than anything else I've had in town. The inside looks a lot nicer and more modern than the outside, service is polite, quick, low key, and friendly. The inside temperature is comfortable, and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Since this store has been under new ownership the donuts are smaller and are oily. On top of that they raised the prices, you only get 6 donut holes for $2, I used to get the white bag more than half full for $5. I have been going here for 20+ years for donuts but every time I have tried to go there since new ownership, I'm just disappointed. Lost a great. New staff is nice, new layout is ok. Donuts look appealing, but lack in flavor and moistness. Seemed drier and less fluffy inside with that right amount of fried crisp on the outside. Major deduction, They got rid of the chocolate glaze (glazed donut with chocolate frosting on top) a Foster's staple! I've given three times since new management and third time wasn't the charm. These donuts unfortunately do not taste good. For years this was the best donut shop in Santa Clarita, but unfortunately, when the business sold the recipes changed. I hope somehow they're able to bring back the original Foster's recipes. So sad! read more

Big, delicious, buttery and oily glazed decadent donuts. That was a whole review itself. Doesn't matter what time of day...the donuts are always good. Probably because thought is put into the actual dough itself. If the DOUGH is well-made, the actual finished product itself is going to be good without having to rely solely on icing. These here are sweet, buttery and slightly oily...generously and completely covered 360 in glaze...lending for some badass donuts. Trust. And shame on me. I've been to every donut joint in the SCV including yum yum, donut inn, dunkin (the WORST, save your money), and all the local mom-n-pop shops and this place, Fosters, is by far the best. The donuts are always fresh, they're huge, and they taste great. Are they the best of the best? No, I'd rate Voodoo tops, then maybe Krispy by virtue of how they melt in your mouth. But unless you want to drive 40 miles to burbank or further into LA, this is the place for premium donuts. The owners are also super sweet. It's worth adding that they also serve boba, ice cream, banana splits and other confections though I've never tried them. Just a donut man. read more

This is literally the best donut place, though it is a chain, I love this place individually because the family is so cute and sweet here. This donut shop is by far hands-down the best out of there. I have them above dunkin, Krispy Kreme and Yum Yum. The texture of the donuts here will melt in your mouth depending on what time purchase them. If you were an early bird and get there before 6 AM they still will be warm OMG I never thought they were glazed twist can't equal such ecstasy. And the size of their donuts are pretty healthy, you just need one and you'll be squared away until lunchtime. I went here knowing nothing about the place. Just saw an open donut shop and wanted to get a maple glaze. It was around 8pm and options were scarce. I didn't have high expectations. But I got an original, sugar glaze, maple glaze, chocolate sprinkle, and coconut donut & after bringing the donuts home, I was thoroughly impressed. The donuts were good! Airy. Not too sweet. Soft. Considering they were probably the end of the batch for the day, I assumed the donuts wouldn't be great. Now today, the day after, I'm finishing up the box of donuts and they are still food.
