I called ahead to place a special order for 3 dozen donuts, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. The customer service was excellent, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The donuts were absolutely amazing, easily the best tasting donuts around! Donut shop located in the heart of Castaic! Wanted to try and support some more local businesses out here and this place did not disappoint. It was empty both in the parking lot and inside of the donut shop on a Tuesday morning around 9am. There was still a good selection of donuts available. They did all of their donuts to perfection, and I thought the ham and cheese croissant was delicious! Would definitely want to come back and try out more of the donut flavors or even their coffee as well. We came in for a quick mid morning treat and it did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable as well, around $8 for a half dozen of the normal donuts, but the speciality items costed a little bit more. Definitely will be coming back! read more

So far every time I've gone in I noticed they have a special different pastry to choose from. Today it was pineapple upside square. I think that's pretty cool they do that! I don't like to write bad reviews. So if you get a bad review from me it's bad. So this is now the second time when I have been here and the owner has told me the "Apple Fritters" weren't ready. Okay the first time no big deal, I was in there early (6:30am) but the first time me told me to come back the first time at 7:15 and they would be ready. I declined and said I would be back another day that I'm local. So today 3/7/20 at 7:10 a.m. and guess what he didn't have ready yep the "Apple Fritters" . So he "the owner" tells me they would be ready in 20 mins, I told him that was fine that weren't ready last time either. I left and called my daughter because she was coming over in an hour and asked if she wouldn't mind picking it up for me. Well, she gets there at just after 8:00 a.m. and she asked him for an "Apple Fritter" guess what wasn't ready yet, you got it!!! He tells her 15 mins I have to make them. My daughter texted me and asked if I wanted her to wait. I told her "Nope, just leave. I'm done there" . So if you want fresh doughnuts and at a way better price just go to "Ralph's" bakery right up the street. Castaic doughnuts runs out of doughnuts very fast because he makes a very small amount. Needless to say, I like to support small local businesses but when you have bad business practices I can't support that. read more

There's nothing special about this location, they have your typical donuts. The biggest issue I have with this place is how weird the hours are, and how every time I seem to try and stop by it's closed. And on one of the few occasions I stopped in, I tried to order one of their croissant sandwiches that were on the menu and they told me they didn't make them. I pointed at the sign out of confusion but they repeated themselves and were clearly irritated. Why do you have it on the menu if you don't serve it?? read more

It seems cliche to start off by saying "Best donuts around!", however, I think that is truly the case here. The donuts are always fresh. One of the biggest perks of this location is the fact it's open 24 hrs! I drive truck through the area frequently, and sometimes a fresh donut and coffee at 3AM hits the spot. Haha. They are always cooking up fresh hot donuts, so with luck, you time your visit just as they are coming off the rack. The apple fritters are the best around!! I love apple fritters and have tried many. These are my all time favorite. Just the way an apple fritter should be... Slightly crunchy on the edges... Soft inside... Delicious apple cinnamon filling throughout with a sweet glaze on top. They're pretty big as well! Another donut I recommend here is the glazed buttermilk bar... Always delicious, but I've even been lucky to get some that had just come off the rack 10 minutes prior. Can't get any better!! This shop also sells a selection of hot "donut shop" foods such as croissants, and also a selection of beverages (Coffee, milk, etc). Very friendly people with great customer service! My biggest beef with them, and the reason for the low rating, is the fact that they have items on their menu board that they don't actually offer. I'm a french cruller fan. I'll take those over any other donut, if possible. While they advertise them on their menu, they don't actually make them. "They're not cost-effective for us to make them", is what we were told when we asked, after two trips at different times of the day, specifically to get crullers. I will say that their cake donuts are light and fluffy, and the maple bars are very well done. I don't mean to sound like a complainer but I'm disappointed in the lack of customer service here. I ask about placing an order for tamales and the girl doesn't know. My husband goes in she tells him to call, he calls and the same girl tells him to call closer to the date for their order. Then WHAT IS THE POINT to call and place an order if your not going to take the order down. I'm calling to place 4 dozen order and you can't take it. I'm asking for a different time. Pretty good donut! We got maple bars, chocolate, sugar and glazed. They were good and the glaze wasn't overly sweet. The one complaint our car full had (which I didn't mind) was the donuts were a little flakey rather than fluffy. If we were in the area again we would definitely stop in. Its just barely off the freeway and down the road from gas and starbucks so it wasn't too far out of reach for our trip! read more
