Which is probably why the original owners attempted to convert it to gas. We wanted wood, not gas, and we wanted to get the 26% federal income tax credit. So we visited A Fireplace Store and More and spoke to the woman working there. She set up a date for Rony to come out and give us an estimate. Rony showed up on time and we settled on a modern high efficiency biomass fireplace insert that qualifies for the credit. Parts and labor was not cheap, but we wanted a quality appliance and this business has decades of experience, which we also wanted. We put down a deposit and set the installation day, which was today. Rony and his team showed up on time, worked quickly, did good quality work and cleaned up afterwards. Rony explained how to use the new fireplace and was all done in a matter of 3-4 hours. Very happy with our purchase and service and we can't wait until we can use it this winter.

They swapped out our main fireplace with beautiful new RH Peterson logs--which they conveniently had sealed and ready to go right in their truck! In addition to installing the new log set, they completely sealed the exterior with improved flashing, applied a full waterproofing spray to the entire chimney, and installed two new chimney caps to ensure everything stays protected from the elements. To top it all off, they successfully troubleshooted and serviced an ongoing issue with our basement fireplace that we had been struggling with. By the end of the night, both of our fireplaces were running perfectly and we were already sitting back enjoying them!
