Beware of this company if you are looking for full disclosure and want to take an active interest in the repair of your vehicle.
My wife had an accident and brought it to this place and they took pictures and information they thought pertinent. Since this particular accident was considerably more serious than my wife's normal dingers, I chose to be a part of the business affairs. My wife and I showed up at this business on 12-22-17, no one at the desk, so I walked into the shop. The owner was working on a bumper and I didn't stop him from his chore,...neither did he offer to stop working to address me. I told the owner, Stephen, that I was taking an interest in this particular job as I had a higher financial interest in this repair. I told the owner that I am also employed with a company that works with the types of metals in automotive construct so that I am aware of the properties of various metals. I told the owner that I want to see the estimate for repairs and he told me he hadn't worked them up but as soon as he did he would get them over to my insurance company. I told him I wanted to SEE the estimate BEFORE him sending it to the insurance company. At this point the owner was pretty much put out that, in my opinion, a customer would dare demand to be a knowledgeable and interested customer during the repair process of vehicle in question. I asked the owner when he thought he would have the estimate ready and he said in about 2 hours, so I told him I'd be back around noon. The owner had his wife call my wife 15 minutes before noon and say that he declined to take the job.
It is certainly okay that S & A Collision refused the job, after interaction with the owner I have to believe that S & A stands for Shady & Atypical.
The owners business ethics are seriously in question when refusing service because someone comes along, that has some knowledge of the materials and tools he will use, and requests answers to be provided to the questions that will inevitably arise. I suspect businesses like this prey upon people who do not know and put blind faith in claims like this owner does of his business. Be careful not to fall for the pictures showing this company working on police cars because you might think that since the police department trusts them then they must be good,...truth is, its the City that contracts out work and not specific departments of a city. Another flaw in this company's business ethics is their treatment of a customer's belief that they have certain rights to disclosure before work is started.
I my opinion, despite the reviews to the contrary, this company should be approached very cautiously, and remember that blind faith should never be used except in religion. Something Shady & Atypical about this company and their business practices,...based on my opinion, based on my brief encounter with the owner. read more
