Well, my daughter was out at a youth event for the week in Ft Worth, we are from the Rockwall area. On Thursday night she called and let me know her 2011 Jeep Wrangler was overheating and steam was coming from under the hood. She was able to get it back to where she was staying that week. I drove out the following day and was able to identify that the radiator had cracked. it was about 10:30am on Friday. I called around to several shops and most were willing to do the work, but couldn't get it done until Saturday or maybe even Monday. This was not ideal. All that changed when I called Don Perry's Garage. I was talking to Donny and he said he could probably get it done that day. I told him I was just passing through and he said he'd definitely get it done that day. He said "cmon down and we'll get you fixed up. I'll pick us up some lunch and you can hangout here till it's done." This is 100% true! So I headed on down and spent the afternoon with Donny and Kelly. We ate lunch together and chatted for a few hours. Hanging out there I got a real behind the scenes look at how they run their business. How they communicated with their customers on the phone or in person was all top shelf. The transparency they shared with their customers is like nothing I've seen in this business. If they made a mistake, they owned up to it. If they could get a better price on a part, they would and then would pass the savings on to the customer. I've got to also give a shoutout to their senior tech James. He's been there over 30 years and knows his stuff! There's a reason they have been in business as long as they have! The reality is, I probably will never need their service again. Our paths may never cross again. I took my car in for a misfire cylinder and they fixed it. And how I'm paying for is through payment they're very great. The quality of the service was the best that I could ever ask for. After I got my car two weeks later my light came back on and than went off a week later and than came on after a week that it was off. So that was fun! read more

I had been getting my vehicle serviced here since spring of 2023, solid folks and service. These past couple of trips I did notice how much more traffic there was and bit of a decline in terms of turnaround, but nothing noteworthy. Here recently, I dropped my car off after work 3/25 and ended up having to pick it back up 4/1 with not so much as a diagnostic being completed. A week to get your car out the shop is fine, but I hadn't even received a quote yet. As I truthfully understand and support being busy, but what I can't get down with is providing dishonest status updates. I dont know what happened. I have used don's garage for many repairs and they always provided great service and value. Took a car in for them to diagnose and fix and they just "claimed"' they couldnt fix and then charged 50 dollars to roll up a broken window. Not FIX the window. Just roll it up. I took my car to be looked at. Thought it could be something with the radiator. Was called back and told it was the water pump and $180 to replace. When I informed them they were the same Garage that installed the water pump they said they would take care of it. Recieved a call saying the vehicle was fixed. I was then informed that it was $150 for work on my radiator. I was shocked because they never called and said there was a problem with the radiator just the water pump. They found a new problem to charge me money since they were fixing something for free. Go somewhere else! read more

If I had to sum it up in one word it would be HONEST. I would recommend to anyone. They don't do any advertising, all word of mouth referrals. I went in for an oil leak and they figured out that the place I had my oil changed last had misfilled my oil by removing the dipstick, which has caused oil to leak out. I took my car in and when I called to ask when they would be able to LOOK at it, not repair it, just look. They told me they didn't know. I then called again the next day and they repeatedly dodged my calls. I called then more than 10 times. Finally they got back to me and tried to tell me it was $1k+ worth of work. I will attempt to keep this short. I've been without my vehicle for a month after fairly routine ac repair. They damaged the radiator initially and when replaced did not secure the trans cooler lines so it had to be towed back in after picking it up for them to replace the transmission. Our A/C went out on a very hot afternoon road trip to FW on a holiday weekend. We did not know any repair shop in the area and chose Don Perry's garage through Yelp. I made a phone call just before they opened and Ray, the owner, answered the phone. I told him what was going on with the car and he said we could bring it in. When we arrived we noticed the message painted on the building about how they do not "over repair" cars and how nice the building was. We stepped inside the office which was also very well-maintained along with the shop it was a busy morning with lots of cars there. They pulled our car in immediately and said that we could wait if we wanted to while they evaluated the situation. The people in the office including Charlie, Bill, and Ray could not have been friendlier and more helpful. And speaking with one of their longtime customers while waiting, I learned that that was how they always are and at the shop enjoys a very good reputation. These are the nicest repair people you could ever find! My husbands family has been going to them forever and they do not try to sell you stuff you do not need. The call you with a free estaminet before they do any work. Really quality people and almost always done the same day. We took our car in a day or two before we got married and mentioned that we needed to get it inspected before we drove it on our honeymoon. They do not have an inspection bay there but in known to us they took it down the street to get it inspected for us so that we did not have to worry about it! Any place I've ever taken my car to, I tell them the issue then they come back with a laundry list of things wrong with my vehicle - it's beyond frustrating! This doesn't happen at Don Perry's. These guys are honest, they do excellent work and they seem to be reasonably priced. They even wash the exterior of your car when it is ready to be picked up! Everyone is very nice. It was time. My 2004 Ford F-150 needed some work. Has over 168000 miles of hard driving on it and has never had more than oil changes and tires. I read some reviews on this business and felt very confident. They did great work on my pickup! Full tuneup, bearings, inspection and even had my manual windows fixed as they didn't roll anymore.
