Came on a weeknight for happy hour (Great happy hour deals: EVERY DAY from 4-8pm; all day on Sundays). $7 cocktails, $1 nigiri, and more. The fish quality is decent, good for the price. We enjoyed the ube fries. The cocktails were pretty good. The waitress was friendly, however, later in the night, folks were seated by the sushi bar, and we were the only ones in the other area so we had to find a staff member to get the bill. There are some specific parking spots in the Days Inn parking lot, next to the restaurant. Bathroom is located in the Days Inn, on the second floor.

We came here before going to the Drafthouse Arlington and this place was such a great find. They have happy hour every day (even on weekends) and the HH menu is very broad. We got Ube fries, 5 different rolls of sushi, coconut shrimp, hot sake, and several other items that were all on the HH menu and very reasonable. Service was great, the food came out quick and was delicious, and we had a great time. We will definitely be coming back here especially when we go to Drafthouse again for another show!

So glad we found this cute spot. Great sushi selection, tasty Tai teas and exceptional service. We were blown away by the freshness of the food and nice ambiance. We shall return for dinner and enjoy their happy hour!

My partner and I found this place to be delicious, cute/clean, and it had good service! We got both sushi and curry, and we preferred the sushi over the curry (although both were still good). It is slightly slightly pricier than our typical sushi spot - however, it was nice to go somewhere new and try it out. Definitely a spot to check out, and although we have our typical sushi spot still, we'll probably return here when we want another nice place to go to!

Nigiri

I've come back here another 2-3 times and while their $1 sushi/nigiri are still a good deal, I noticed they started using smaller pieces of fish. I still like the white tuna escolar, inari, surf clam, and tamago pieces though. Note this spicy tuna rolls don't seem to have mayo. Also their expanded happy hour specials from 4-7pm are good. We enjoyed the ube fries. The service was good, they came to take our order and any additional orders before happy hour ended. They were also able to split our bill.

Rainbow roll stuffed with stale tempura flakes

Ordered dinner via doordash after seeing all the good reviews. Not sure if they're having an off day but won't be trying this place again. Salmon and salmon belly sashimi were not fresh. But had a very distinct funk. Alaskan roll and rainbow roll contained small amounts of fish inside and were stuffed with stale tempura flakes. The amount of tempura flakes inside the roll is very off putting.

Beef Gyoza, Hokkaido Roll, Jasmine Thai Green Tea

Very poor quality. Sushi consisted of mostly rice and had horrible texture and flavor. Gyoza was basic and was very small in portion size. I'm definitely not giving this restaurant another try.

Jo Sushi (front) & sushi assortment lunch (back)

Overall very good quality sushi and will continue to support this spot! The Jo sushi is good value since it comes with a toro scallion roll which I rarely see. Texture of rice is excellent. Part of a larger takeout order that included other yummy classic rolls (really good salmon skin roll and a spicy scallop roll not covered in kewpie mayo) The only strange thing is that this is the second time where the fish on at least 2-3 pieces have been sliced incorrectly (so with grain instead of against) which made it difficult to eat. See the yellowtail and darker tuna next to the surf clam.

This place has a REALLY great happy hour! $1 nigiri really can't be beat. I would order anything from the nigiri menu + the spicy tuna maki is a MUST try - rarely do I see places do a spicy roll thats *actually* spicy, so this was pleasantly surprising. Very worth dining here if you're in the Arlington area! Staff is really nice too. Their happy hour also recently extended to 4-8 pm every day + all day Sunday.

Perfect raw squid appetizer, especially the sauce! The squid itself was incredibly fresh, tender, and naturally sweet, but what really elevated the entire dish was the perfectly balanced dipping sauce.

Chicken Drunken Udon
Joshua K.

I recently got the chicken drunken udon for takeout and it arrived on time. The chicken drunken udon was fine-the portion size was a bit small, the chicken a bit chewy, although the udon were good.

This last visit tells me that this last lonely location is on its last legs. I know that it will be closing soon to make way for a new condo building. The truth is that this restaurant should not come back. Every meal is a little disappointing. The ambiance of the dining room is severely lacking. The service is not up to decent standards. The food is okay but nothing more or less. I hate to see something from my long-gone youth go away. And I hate that another generation will not experience the good food and the good times that I experienced at Il Radicchio (all of them). But, it is time to say goodbye! It picked up later in the evening, with more people preferring the outdoor seating it seemed. My parents loved their dishes and my chicken parm was also very good though notably it was grilled chicken and not breaded - not what I was expecting, but delicious nonetheless. The bread bowl for the table was also a winner (not pictured because we devoured it!)

L.A. Bar and Grill is perhaps one of the last "dive" bars in Arlington; and I even hesitate to…read morelabel this place a "dive" bar since while it's not fancy, it certainly isn't a dump either. Once upon a time when I lived along "the pike" (as it's affectionately known to area residents), this place was a regular haunt for me. Circa 2012, there were uncomfortable wooden booths, a mish-mash of sports memorabilia on the walls, music that usually was too loud, and the food was an afterthought. I recently met up with an old friend who still lives along "the pike," and I'm pleasantly surprised with the changes over the past several years. The old wooden booths have been replaced with more modern and comfortable tables/chairs, while still at bit dated, the design aesthetic is more 1990's Applebees as opposed to sports bar, and the food...the food is really good! And what I really love about L.A. Bar and Grill (the L.A. referencing "lower Arlington" before the area was rebranded into "North" and "South" Arlington) is the fact that it does not try to be one of the overly pretentious establishments which are commonplace is the Clarendon/Ballston/Court House sections of North Arlington. I used to hit those places up also in a former life, but nowadays, I'd rather spend my hard earned dollars in a place like L.A. Bar and Grill. And did I mention that it's not a super loud place, so you can ACTUALLY have a conversation without having to yell to be heard? Places like this are more intended for folks to hang out and chill while grabbing a drink and bite. For starters, they have one of the BEST and LONGEST happy hours in the entire DMV! Not sure when HH starts, but as of this review, M-F it goes until 8:30pm. It's not listed on their website, but my mental notes seem to recall $2 off appetizers and a good discount on draft beers and house wines. My buddy and I ordered the L.A. Chicken Quesorrito and the Spicy Chicken Mango bites. For so-called bar food, both dishes were really good. The Quesorrito was a ginormous portion of pulled chicken, jack cheese, rice, black beans, corn, and pico de gallo, all wrapped in a tortilla and given a quick sear on the flat top. Honestly, it could have fed three people. And the bites were nice deep fried breaded pieces of white meat chicken and then tossed in a sweet and slightly spicy mango sauce. And talk about value. Three beers and two appetizers came out to around $35; throw in a 20% tip and you're still leaving for under $45. L.A. Bar and Grill is definitely more a neighborhood joint with a good mix of regulars who walk over from the many apartments along the pike. As we were leaving around 9pm, a whole new crowd of folks were coming in, many of whom the bartender and staff were familiar with. It's been too long since I've been back to this section of Lower or South Arlington, but I was reminded that I need to make more of an effort to patronize places like L.A. Bar and Grill more often.

They are located in a lovely old building with dark green/blue walls, a romantic glow from a fireplace, and backlit cases of whiskey lining the walls. It's the perfect atmosphere. There are two dining areas, the tasting room downstairs plus the upstairs. We sat downstairs, and it was nice, but I badly want to come back and try the upstairs. We came in January 2026, and every time someone opened the door, we were hit with an arctic blast that made it very uncomfortable. They should install some kind of short wall or curtain by the door to try to avoid this. However, the cold didn't take away from a 10/10 cocktail experience. Fitting for a bourbon spot, their menu has an old fashioned. What I love about them, though, is you have tons of choices of different bourbons or ryes for your drink. I went with the fanciest of the options, which has their signature private selection maker's mark. All the old fashioneds come with a touch of madeira and allspice dram, which make them one of the richer, cinnamonier old fashioned around. I loved it. It was one of the best old fashioneds I have ever had, and I am excited to get another. All told, I believe they had about 20 cocktails listed on the menu, so there's something for everyone, plus a few wines, beers, and a truly impressive N/A cocktail selection. Before leaving, I tried one of their negronis, because they infuse their gin with teddy grahams, and who could pass that up? It was delicious as well, really smooth and tasty. We had dinner as well. The food was a bit more hit or miss, but the hits were spectacular. The side onion rings are some of the best we have ever had. To make an onion ring feel special is pretty unique, and these are absolutely packed with flavor. So good. The gougeres are amazing, too. They have some kind of everything bagel seasoning and are so delicate despite being filled with pimento cheese. I highly recommend it. The caviar was forgettable, though - it had little to no flavor at all. The burger is also one I would skip. It was not as elevated as the gougeres or rings, and the cheeses they use overpower the other flavors. Based on the quality of the gougeres and rings, though, I still say this is a place whose food is worth trying. The space is quite small, so if you come during a weekend, a reservation will likely be needed. There is a bar, but it has only 4 or 5 seats and seems difficult to score. All the tasting room tables were occupied during our visit, and even with a reservation, we needed to wait about 10 minutes. Bonus points because they frequently do tastings and events that sound really interesting, including Blantons pours and historical cocktail tours.
