After collecting loved ones from the airport we went to breakfast at this café. Our visitors from Australia and Russia wanted to taste a Traditional Irish Breakfast.
When our breakfasts arrived there was no pudding on the plate. It was 2 sausages, 2 rashers, and egg, and half the plate was covered in potato cubes. My dad asked the waitress politely if the pudding was being brought out on a different plate. The waitress then proceeded to inform us there is no pudding with the breakfast. My dad then said he ordered the Traditional Breakfast. The waitress then got very rude and condescending telling my dad to read the menu, then she began to read the menu in an aggressive and confrontational manner when we had just asked a question.
Appropriate customer service is an apology for any misunderstanding and the offer of some pudding to be brought out for you. She did not apologise once. She left to the kitchen where we could hear her giving out about us. Some pudding eventually got sent out to just my dad but we had already finished eating at that point.
The breakfast was a premium price for a mediocre meal. The potato cubes were not nice at all, and everything else was average. The service was the most disappointing of all.
We went into Ryan's because we wanted to show our visitors what a warm and friendly people we are in Ireland and what a good Irish meal is. We got neither. Will not be going back again.
By way of proof that they are misleading with the title, 'Traditional Irish Breakfast', here is a link to what can such a meal can be defined as: http://www.discoveringireland.com/the-full-irish-breakfast/ read more
