Just can't even go here anymore, the people that work there are rude as hell. Ryan is a hit or miss. One day he's nice. The next he can be a prick. One year I was checking out the spider man comics I forgot what series it was, but overheard Ryan having a conversation with a customer "yeah not everyone likes that spider man series" and then he saw me checking out that series and said" well maybe some people like it..." then he and the customer laughed and I was a couple of feet from them thinking I can't hear them? Ryan is the comic shop owner from simpsons. The last time I tried to buy comics from this place was a while back and once I walked in the store a girl who was a the register looked like a twelve year old and gave me a rude look like I don't belong in this store. Go to the comic shop over in Temecula their staff is more friendly and love helping new people who are trying to get into comics. read more

I was looking for a new local place to get Magic cards and Ryan's was the closest. Walked in and found it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, which is good, because they have a huge selection of EVERYTHING. The prices are a little bit below what I've seen at other stores, and some of the merchandise is cheaper here than it is online. The atmosphere is really laid back and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and know their stuff. Will definitely go back if I need some cards or feel like playing a game. read more

There aren't that many comic shops around temecula/murrieta, but its a good thing we have Ryan's Comics here. The staff is super cool and helpful, they have a great specials all week long, and really cool events. If you are into Board Games, you should also check this place out. They have a board game night and their collection of games is actually better than a local board game shop I have visited. Good selection of back issues and they also get some nice vintage books in as well. read more

We have been here many times. Love all the comic books. My son has played in many YoGiOh tournaments and had so much fun! The staff are always welcoming, friendly, helpful and just all around great. Ryan's comics is an awesome store to go to. he has the prices clearly stated on all products so you can check and compare prices with any other store or "right person" before you buy from him. does it get any more fair than that? its a super laid back place to read a couple comics and play cards. it also attracts a pretty cool group of people. Ryan's Comics is one of best comic book shops I have EVER been to. The shop is easy to get to and is in a great shopping center. The shop is very neat and clean with HD TV's so you can read comics and watch sports at the sometime, very cool. They have all types of tournaments from Yugioh, Magic, and yes Call of Duty. The best thing about the shop is that they are very friendly and the knowledge they have about comics. Ryan's comics is a great comic shop. They have a great variety of comics as well as games and toys and aren't super expensive. Not a boring comic shop like others and has a great staff. I took my exchange students from China there and they loved it, they couldn't believe the huge selection. My two sons also went there to look at cards and some comics, they said they loved it and thought the workers were very friendly and helpful. Ryan is very helpful. My Star dock is due to availability issues that seem to plague comic book stores. Which hinders having one thay you can go to exclusive. Great Shop. They utilize on-line pull lists (Comixology), so you never miss an issue. They know their product. I hate going into "Comic" shops and the kid behind the counter doesn't know Batman from Officer Barbrady. The fan base for this stuff is in too deep to be a casual employee. Went there not even an hour ago to sell an ultra rare Exodia set. The african american employee said... Employee: Are you the guy that called me asking about card exchange and hung up? Me: Yes, but my cell phone died, now i'm here wanting to sell Employee: Sorry, now i'm not buying them. Because you hung up on me. It's bull**** like this that screws up America. Just because someone looses communication, doesn't mean that you need to refuse service. My best guess is if you're selling your possessions to them. Ask for a different employee then the African American. read more

This shop has a lot of comics, but it's Russian roulette with the staff. Either you get a helpful person or you get someone who doesn't want to help or just puts your taste in comics down and dismisses you. Problem is more times then not it's the rude ones. 3 stars for the selection -3 for the employees. I take my kids to comic shops so they can have that feeling you get when your new issues of the comics you love come in. Bad staff will ruin that experience. I had them order a comic for me and finally got it 2 months later. This was not something special just a comic they didn't have. I will be ordering online from now on. read more

Ryan's Comics is the best comic shop I've ever been to. I've been to 30 plus comic stores, in other states too, and this is hands down my favorite. The store is very organized and clean, which seems to be a rare thing. They have a huge rack of new comics, organized drawers of back issues, another rack in the back of indie comics, and tables for card games. Multiple televisions, local artist displays, and OLD old comics line the entire store. The staff are really nice and approachable. Ryan also has a ton of weekly games and hang outs all free of charge. I don't play any card games, but this place seems to be poppin for Magic and Yu-gi-oh also. I am editing my second review for clarity purposes and examples. Ryan's is a nice shop in a nice location. They have a good supply of everything from Comics to Warhammer. My friend Michael and I fell in love with x-wing miniatures while visiting the store one day and an employee named Sean really helped us out. I haven't been back to the store since December. The reason being is that the owner can be condescending sometimes and I'm not the only one that feels that way. For example, there was a guy who had obvious mental issues. He was asking what the difference between the two Star Wars Comics and why the two had the same number but different covers (it was Darth Vader and Star Wars), instead of politely telling the man that they were two distinct comics, he rudely responded and belittled him. That was one of the first instances I noticed. I kept my eye out after that. In November the owner started an X-Wing league and most of the players had instances like that also. A case where my friend asked a simple question about changing his list, brought forth a rudely responded facebook message from the owner. Luckily, my friend is very forgiving, but things like that bother me. My friend said a joke at his black friday sale and the owner flipped out on him, yeah I'm sure its a stressful day, but you can NEVER show the costumers that you are having a bad day. My original review on here may have been harsh, but it did not deserve to have a threat about my job in the facebook message that followed. The reason why I am stating this is not to "bring [Ryan's Comics] down", but provide a review that forces the owner to hear my feedback. Recommended Reviews from 07/06/2015, 02/10/2015, 02/27/2014, 08/11/2014, & 10/23/2014 have not had much success, but maybe mine can. I have updated my stars to 2 stars since knowledge of some of his issues may be health related. read more

Well let me start with the positives, this store is very clean and super nice inside! It's a comic book mansion with like 5 or 6 big flat screen t.vs. I love that about this store very cool. Now the negatives, first is the hours the owner will close his door earlier then 7:30 when theres 10 plus people inside like what the hell? Second is the customer service is bad at best, except for the guy working in the morning he's was nice. The last reason and my biggest complaint is the owner, he's rude and gets really bitter. Ive seen him yell at kids in the store like who does that? If this store was ran by a different owner or if the owner cleaned up his act it would be a 5 star store. That's my take on it, I perfer to drive to Franks over this store or orange county. read more

I love this shop. We stumbled on it accidentally when the shop we used to frequent moved to a location over an hour away. The staff is always awesome and super nice and Ryan is really cool and fun to talk to. He really goes all out when it comes to special events and a good time is had by all. I called on the phone last Saturday and was told by a female co-worker that they sell Magic The Gathering/Baseball card sleeves for 25 cents a page. I told the nice women I would be down shortly to buy them. I hung up. I sent my dad in 2 hours later to pick up the 5 sleeves. My dad went into the store and spoke with Ryan, the owner. Ryan was behind the counter at the far end playing a game with a friend. My father told Ryan that we had called just 2hrs ago and he was there to buy the individual sleeves they said they had for sale. Ryan told my dad that they did not have any individual sleeves for sale. They were "out". Ryan said all this from a chair without even getting up and looking (in the white binder which I later find out is behind the cash register in plain sight that reads 25 cents a page on the cover of the binder.) Ryan then asked my dad if he only needed a few sleeves or a whole box? My dad said only 5 sleeves. Ryan then got up from his chair and handed my dad a box of 100 sleeves for 19.99 and said, "this is all we have." I find two things very suspect. A: In those 2 hours from when we called and from when my dad went into Ryan's Comics that they miraculously SOLD OUT of the individual sleeves? B: He didn't even look in the white binder to see if they were out. He just said they didn't have anymore. Being the nice dad that I have, he bought the box and brought it home. When I found out what happened I went back to Ryan's Comics and few days later with the recite and unopened box of 100 sleeves for 19.99 to get a refund. Ryan was not there when I came in. There was a female co-woker behind the desk. I asked her if she remembered me calling about the sleeves they had for 25 cents each, she said,"OH YES." She then picked up the white binder behind her and said, "this is what you wanted, right?" (the binder was filled with sleeves). I told her the story with my dad coming in and Ryan selling him the whole box of sleeves and asked if I could get a refund? She told me that they Do NO REFUNDS on any products they sell. NO matter what the case. (What kind of store has that kind of policy with an unopened product with a recite?) Seeing and knowing the whole story, as she was the one who told me they sold them in the first place, she called Ryan on the phone to see what she could do for me. Ryan told her there was NOTHING he could do. I was shocked and amazed that he was not willing to do anything. The co-woker was friendly and very helpful. I could see she felt bad she could not help me out. I left the store a very unsatisfied costumer. So, here are some things RYAN "could have" done for me, since he told his co-woker there was NOTHING he "could do. " 1: OPEN the box he up sold my dad and sell him 5 pages, instead of selling him a whole box. It would seem that they needed to open the box anyway to resupply their individual sleeves they claim they sell. 2: He could say, I will call you when get some more individual sleeves in. 3: He could have understood the situation and refunded or give us a store credit in exchange for the unopened box of 100 sleeves he sold my dad. Ryan's Comic is not a place I will ever shop again. I have a lot of comic and gaming collecting friends in this community. They will be told this story. When people say to "support" your local gaming/comic book store... how can I when they do not support me as a costumer? I know that AMAZON and many other gaming/comic internet stores I have delt with in the past would have bent over backwards to please their customers, too bad Ryan does not share their same philosophy. I guess Ryan's Comics can afford doing bad business, they just won't be getting any of mine. read more

One of the workers had a ton of attitude, and the hours the run and the hours posted on line or even on here are lies. I wish I could put more stars on this. This is the best comic book store around the Inland Empire with very friendly and helpful staff. The store itself is very clean and very organized, very spacious, with a whole array of selection of comics and even MANGA! Ryan has helped me out with Y: The Last Man, and even recommended some cool comics or graphic novels for me to read. Sean was also very kind and helpful in showing me how to play hero clix. They have a bunch of other cool stuff too such as shirts, and action figures. You can browse and even read for free on all the comics, they have chairs so one can definitely hang out and chill in the store. They also have a lot of events, like tournaments, or you can also find them in the movie theater in Temecula whenever comic-related movies come out, and they have real good prizes to give! This is definitely the place to go to during Free Comic Book Day because it's so much fun, very well organized event and full of surprises! Two thumbs up! I just hope they close a little later than 7 pm though so I can hang out more. But other than that, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I inherited some comic books from family member who passed and I took them to Ryan Comics to have them appraised. Not only did the owner want to charge a ridiculous price to appraise them, he really went out of his way to make me feel stupid. I truly feel he was trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge about comics. The place seemed really seedy (almost like a porn shop) and I will never go back. I strongly recommend that you find another place to do business where the people actually treat you halfway respectable and aren't so repugnant. 1 star is too much. read more

That person that works at the store tries to be all nice and funny, when I figured out that all he's trying to do is rip me off when buying cards.After I called him out on it he refuses to sell the cards and talk to me. To be honest, if you know what you want just check the prices before hand before you enter this store, because chances are your paying more then you think. I don't want other people to be deceived by this store or the staffs in it. The comics and cards are pretty legit don't get me wrong but make sure to talk to the right people about buying something before you talked to the ones working there. read more

The woman who works there was extremely rude. She didn't say hi, rather she let me know that I bothered her when I handed my purchase to her to check out. I guess I bothered her computer time. I almost became a regular customer this week until I had a situation at the store. Ryan was going to give me a price I didn't want for cards- so I turned and mentioned to my friend I'll go to Tier 1 to sell (a local competitor) and immediately he took my cards from the table and told me to go to Tier 1. It wasn't a bargaining tactic I honestly felt like I would get a better deal. His customer service was really bad at that point. Then, we decided to try and sit down to duel. He got up said they were to use the tables for a draft and angrily left with a shitty tone "Oh yeah, they have space for you in Tier 1". He was disrespectful and seriously childish to say that comment. We've been good customers up until today taking no bias between shops. In my week of going to the store I remember him also debating trivia about the World Cup in the same disrespectful manner. I've been to many cards before and I've never experienced an ego that large. He lost a potential regular today. read more

I was told the response was rude when she asked about their return policy. I have no need for this game or any game worth $100. I work down the street and have been meaning to go in for a while. Yesterday i decided to go in around lunch time and was given an uncomfortable stare from an overweight guy at the counter. No one would help me with anything so i just stood and waited. The overweight guy got into a confrontation with a customer who didn't seem to be doing anything wrong. The customer was speaking very calmly about what seemed to be a refund on something then the overweight guy behind the counter started screaming at him to get out of his store. It seemed totally unprovoked and he did not care about any of his customers. I left and will never be back and will pass it along to all my friends that were curious about the place and planning on going. Two thumbs down for sure. read more
