If you are even thinking about buying comics, a board game or playing in groups, you NEED to get over to Ryan's. The place is immaculate with wall to wall action of top line merchandise and games. I went here twice and both times I was treated rudely. I go in and the workers looked at me as if I was in the wrong store. I let that slide and went to get my comics that I wanted. When I went to check out the guy he looked at me and said "getting comics for your bf?". When I said it was for me, he started to question me to see if I actually was a fan. And the second time I went the girl got annoyed with me because I asked her a question. The store is pretty neat , the comic selection is great, but the people are mean. read more

Hands down the best comic book place in the IE. This place is incredibly organized, very clean, very inviting. I just absolutely love this store! They feature game nights, etc so def check those out if you are interested in playing a new board game you haven't played before. Amazing customer service and always answers all of my questions! Decent and clean store that is organized and well stocked. Hubby is addicted to this store and it's nice to know that the owner is mingling with the customers vs hiding in the back like other comic book stores. After moving down here from Orange County I must say this is my favorite comic shop I have ever been by to. Huge selection of comics, board games, figurines and even back stock comics. This is a very aesthetically pleasing environment to buy comics. Its clean and its colorful and full of comics. I have a pull list going there and I don't even live in the town its located. New comics are discounted and you get 15% on comics from your pull list. I buy nothing but deadpool comics there, and will continue to do so. Went in to see what kind of collection they had and there was so much to look through. I spent a good hour looking and what I got from Ryan was that he is childish and unprofessional. I did my best to just avoid him but how I saw him treat other customers wanting help and he snapped at them. So disrespectful. horrible experience i do not recommend this comic store many others who do better business! i was disgusted and insulted on several levels. upon arriving the gentleman was badmouthing other places and talking very unprofessional with another gentleman. i had some collector comics i wanted to sell and when i asked if they bought them his remark "gotta buy them to sell them" rude! yes would have been fine then did not even look through them to know what i had and told me trash them they are of no value. he failed as a business horrible experience with his demeanor i cant believe they are open! i took in the amazing spiderman #15/#18 1964! he saw the top comic and assumed. read more

The employees are all really friendly and helpful plus they know what they are talking about, which is always important. They have a great selection awesome deals and are always willing to work with you to help you find something, and it's not just comics they have figures, cards, shirts, cases, boxes, pretty much all the thing your little nerd heart could desire. Okay, if you are like me, you don't see yourself going into Ryan's without good reason. Well, I had some old Magic the Gathering cards I wanted to get checked and the staff here are super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They could see that I didn't know anything about these cards and took time to go through them and give me accurate information. They were not condescending and I felt comfortable in this shop. This is an amazing comic book store. By far the best store in the area (and basically the only one). Ryan is an awesome guy who knows a lot about his product. Very friendly and informative and the rest of the workers are amazing as well. Although I do not go to Ryan's for the comics, I can easily tell he is always constantly updated with all the new stuff and has a lot of vintage issues as well. The store is extremely clean and spacious. Organized very nicely and is stocked with every thing you are looking for. I go to Ryan's Comics for the trading card games. He has weekly tournaments for Magic The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh. As a primary Yu-Gi-Oh player, I am often in attendance at his Saturday and Sunday tournaments (which both start at 1:00 P.M.) and there is a good amount of entries every week. Magic The Gathering tournaments also have high attendance as well. Every one is extremely welcoming so anyone interested in comic books and/or trading card games will love it here. read more

Great place to hang out and read a comic...free fun events for kids of all ages, even the big ones! Ryan is a great guy and you can see he loves what he does!! Went tonight for the first time and it was their Star Wars launch party...was really fun! Darth, Luke and Lea was there to take pics with kids. Yeah this place is pretty legit. Confident sales people, clean areas, no real drama to events. They do a lot of outreach to community. If you are in the area and like comics, hit them up. It's a good old school feel for those growing up in 1990's without any of the normal dirt and grunge of the pro amateur comic type shops. Seems very nicely maintained and run. Just can't even go here anymore, the people that work there are rude as hell. Ryan is a hit or miss. One day he's nice. The next he can be a prick. One year I was checking out the spider man comics I forgot what series it was, but overheard Ryan having a conversation with a customer "yeah not everyone likes that spider man series" and then he saw me checking out that series and said" well maybe some people like it..." then he and the customer laughed and I was a couple of feet from them thinking I can't hear them? Ryan is the comic shop owner from simpsons. The last time I tried to buy comics from this place was a while back and once I walked in the store a girl who was a the register looked like a twelve year old and gave me a rude look like I don't belong in this store. International Tabletop Day was my first time visiting this place. Although it is an hour and a half from where I live, I can honestly say that I am willing to make the drive to visit this place. I am absolutely blown away by how awesome the shop is. They're willing to special order anything you can't find elsewhere. I'm new to comics, I have only really read manga and have been wanting to get into the marvel comics. The owner, Ryan, is very knowledgable and super helpful with suggestions. And his staff is absolutely awesome! 10 out of 5 stars. Can't wait to make my next visit to Ryan's Comics and participate in some of the weekend events that they host. read more
