Dr. Prager is a doctor who does it because he loves it and wants to help people. Erica the nurse practitioner is the best I have ever dealt with. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a very difficult disease to deal with along with all the pain that comes with it and Dr. Prager and Erica keep me functional and working. When I have had problems, they are always there to help no matter how long it takes. I cannot express how appreciative I am of how much they help me. You are not going to find a better doctor or nurse practitioner anywhere. I have been dealing with doctors all my life given my chronic disease and I am so thankful I am a patient there. It is so hard to find a doctor or nurse practitioner who went into medicine to truly help people and is not simply rushing you out of the office in 10 minutes because they are trying to move tons of patients through every day. I have never felt rushed and they truly care about how I am doing and try everything possible to help me. I don't have a single complaint about them at all. The staff is also extremely helpful, friendly and completely competent. If you suffer from a difficult condition or need a real doctor, this is the place to go. I am able to work and function because of their help. Without it, I would be disabled and unable to fully function. Scott

There is a Dr. Gerald Sacks in Santa Monica who is Great. He is NOT Dr. Gilbert Sacks, but it is…read morethe same address. I think she is at least a bit confused. I have been going to him for over 20 years, first from the removal of most of my left, back, shoulder muscle, due to cancer. More recently I have been going to him for a Spinal Cord injury, in the military on 9/11. I have a Spinal Cord Simulator implanted in my head, I get "deep skull" procedures at Cedars on the Spheno-Palatine Ganglia regularly, get spinal epidurals also at Cedars, with "Super-Scapular" injections from Dr. Gerald Sacks ever other week. I have always been treated well, have known his staff for over 20 years, including the 2 office managers he has had during that time. I have never seen him treat patients or staff rudely. I do know that while sitting in the waiting room, ever other week, I hear people who complain they can't get the opioid narcotics they are seeking. I have never had to ask or beg for pain medication, because Dr. Sacks know my test results and what kind of pain I am in. So, I am prescribed the medications, including narcotic. I don't particularly like opioids, as they can make you a little "loopy", have a bit of Vertigo, NOT SAFE to drive on, and give then give you HORRIBLE Opioid Constipation that requires another drug to counter act it, or when it is impacted, having to use a medical glove and "digitally" remove it. Without proper tests and observation, any decent doctor would have a difficult time, morally & ethically, prescribing opioid narcotics to someone who may either not need them, or who is already "hooked" on them and is abusing them. I know the FDA IS CRACKING down on doctors. Dr. Sacks has taken me off of Oxycontin and put me on another opioid narcotic. Although he knows I don't abuse the meds, he has insisted I keep an Narcan device in my home, "just in case". I don't want to ever have to use it, and don't understand people who are NOT in SEVERE PAIN, wanting opioids. I used to be a jet pilot, now with a Spinal Cord injury, I use a walker, wear a Cervical Collar, have the Spinal Cord Simulator implanted (I HAVE to "charge" myself 1 - 1 1/2 hours EVERY DAY), wear a Lidoderm (Lidocaine) patch on my forehead, have those "deep skull" procedures at Cedars and get neck & shoulder nerve blocks from Dr. Gerald Sacks ever other week. I'd GLADLY TRADE PLACES with ANYONE who wants to have a REAL REASON for strong narcotics, ANY DAY. I find it interesting that if the person before me, Jennifer K, from Hacienda Heights doesn't even know the doctor's first name right, she is likely a new patient, trying to get narcotics before any tests or evaluation. If she doesn't know him already, why is she coming from Hacienda Heights to Santa Monica??? Likely she is pain management doctor shopping, in hopes of finding one who will be easily swayed to give her what she wants. The Dr. Gerald Sacks I know, will NOT give out opioid narcotics to people who do not really need them. He keeps great records, follows up, provides referrals to other doctors for other medical needs, and determines what tests and evaluations that he has had done or reviewed BEFORE prescribing opioid narcotics to me.

Let me tell you:…read morejumping off that fence into Dr. Mahjoubi's clinic was one of the best decisions of my life. The Ketamine Healing Clinic isn't just a clinic--it's a sanctuary for those of us who have tried everything else and need a new lease on life. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth, compassion, and a feeling that, maybe for the first time in a long time, I was in the right place. Dr. Mahjoubi is an absolute blessing. He's not just a doctor; he's a healer who genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to listen, explain, and make you feel safe in what can be a pretty daunting process. I never once felt rushed or like just another patient. The treatments themselves? Life-changing. I walked in feeling hopeless and walked out feeling like I had been given a second chance. It's not magic, but it's the closest thing I've found to it. The calm, the clarity, and the relief I've felt since starting my sessions are indescribable. It's like someone turned the lights back on in a room that had been dark for years. If you're tired of feeling stuck and are ready to try something different, do yourself a favor and book that consultation. Dr. Mahjoubi and his team are truly doing something special here, and I can't thank them enough for giving me my life back.

My situation changed financially so I couldn't afford to go back but I honestly felt like it was very helpful while I was in the program. Compared to other Ketamine options, I found his pricing to be reasonable for the care offered and would not hesitate to return should my finances allow.

I have to drop off a star sadly…read more Let me first point out that this change is brought on completely and utterly by the staff in charge of billing at this facility, and does not reflect the wonderful care and experience with the actual doctors and nurses. I can't stress enough, that in a medical related situation in the US of A, always always always, make people tell you every single thing you will be charged for. The woman at the front desk did not tell me of her own volition, and the "business office" (or so they call themselves) did not inform me either, upon many phone calls. I was completely unawares that I could even be charged more on top of the $1200 I forked over the day of. But today I received an invoice from the surgery center asking for $2100. SO If they put a lunch lady hat on your head, ask about it. Find out how much those booties, and the warm blanket, and whatever else, cost you. The serious lack of communication about how much procedures cost at this and other medical facilities is astounding. NOT to mention the severe failure in correspondence between medical facilities and gigantic medical insurance companies. Luckily I have a family friend, who used to own her own consulting business dedicated solely to handling the correspondence between physician's billing people and insurance companies. She will hopefully put enough pressure on all parties involved, who are claiming my condition was pre-existing and want to make me pay for the whole thing, despite having medical insurance. So in conclusion, if you are anti-health care reform go F-yourselves. The system is broken, and completely anti-care. AND ALWAYS ask about every single thing you're going to have to pay for upon entering any medical situation, even if your insurance will cover it, you have a right to know.

It is clear this surgery center is in business to squeeze every last cent out of the customer…read more I had good insurance, and as a result the initial amount they quoted me was too high, but you are forced to pay when you walk in the door. Once I received the final papers from my insurance company (4 months after the procedure) it was clear I had been overcharged. I checked with the center, and they said they would look into it. This precipitated a 2.5 month ordeal in which I had to fight with them every step of the way to get my money back. They never called me, so I ended up calling them every couple of weeks to make sure they were on track. This proceeded through them calling the insurance company to confirm that the amount they had received from the was correct, waiting for over a month to receive internal approval for a refund. Most glaring, after they had received authorization to refund my money they did not let me know about it but only told me once I called in again to ask about the status. Completely unprofessional. Most facilities I have been in are similar in level of care (doctors and nurses are generally caring people) - the difference is generally in how they treat you once you are not in the facilities. I'd go somewhere else.
