The reason I am giving sanctuary treatment center a one star rating is due to the emotional…read moredistress that was caused by "chef" Lydia. During my time here, I had three interactions with Lydia that were hostile, passive aggressive, confrontational and flat out mean. This morning, when I went to take out the blender from the kitchen that she uses to cook, so I could make breakfast for me and my peers, and she kicked/slammed the cabinet door with her foot to close the cabinet door shut in an attempt to show her dissatisfaction that I was borrowing the blender. After she kicked the cabinet door shut, I calmly expressed to Lydia that I was going to close it but I had my hands full with the blender. Then I mention that it wasn't her kitchen to get possessive over, and her response was "really, it's not my kitchen?". My response to her was no it was not her kitchen. It's a communal kitchen. My hope is that upper management and leadership can review the video footage from this morning to prove that I was not aggressive or rude towards her this morning. Last night, Lydia also locked up the Ziploc bags to prevent me from using them, and she also locked up the spices despite of me, returning the spices back to its original location in the kitchen that she uses. I have shown time and time again that every time I prepare a meal, I always wash the pods the pans and the dishes and utensils. I used to make my meals. Lydia does not have the kindness, professionalism, and empathy to interact or be nearby patients. She does not treat the patients with the respect that we deserve. What's alarming is that I am not the only patient that Lydia has had unpleasant interactions with. I don't feel she is fit to work in a facility where patients are working towards getting their emotional, mental, and physical health back into shape. Another aspect that was disappointing from my stay at sanctuary, is the cleaning. I have requested my bathtub to be cleaned and not once has it been clean. The first time I attempted to take a shower there was orange slime, or some other kind of fluid, I don't know what it was, but it looked gross. I asked support from the staff, and I ended up cleaning the bathtub myself, which I don't mind cleaning up after myself but I hadn't ever used that bathtub, but the list in the bathroom where it states the bathroom was clean has dates on them and signatures that do not reflect the bathroom actually being cleaned. When the cleaning person sweeps the stairs, she kicks up all sorts of dirt and dust while we're in the room inhaling all of that dirt and dust, I feel that a vacuum would be better suited to clean up the stairs opposed to using a broom and spreading all that dirt and dust while we're in the same room, inhaling it. It was also frustrating to witness some of the staff members serving themselves food first before the clients had the opportunity to eat. A courtesy notification that lunch and dinner was ready would have been appreciated. I expressed this concern two times during my time here. As far as, Anthony, the house manager, I am super grateful for his attempts to make my stay here comfortable. Anthony always made an effort to make sure I had what I needed and that I was comfortable. The other staff members that I deeply appreciate are Yaz, Jason, Jordan, my case manager, Jessica and my therapist, Denise. I want to make it clear that the house manager takes his job seriously and I see his efforts in running the best program for patients that he can. The last thing I will say, is that I wish we had a daily schedule of the times we are meant to meet with our counselor, therapist, and case manager. That structure would be extremely helpful to help us once we go back into the real world. I am appreciative of the staff here who was kind, who was respectful, and who listened when we were in distress.

I felt so comfortable with them. Luda the nurse always had my meds available and worked overtime to help find them if needed.. Most importantly the techs are incredible.  They were always around for me.  They listened and shared their story which was great because I felt they really understood what I was going thru. I could tell they really cared .  The chef was amazing.   The house at Altus was beautiful. It had everything I needed.  They offered yoga, massage, kickboxing and more. There isn't any other place like Altus.  I highly recommend  them. They gave me a wonderful start in my recovery.

This place is a scam and it did nothing but drain me and my family of their money. They don't care about anything but money. I ended up leaving this place and found a much more suitable program in Palm Springs that really understood my needs and took the time to work though my issues instead of just demanding that I contact my insurance to get verified. Stay far away from here!! A lot of illegal activities going on here! There were clients using drugs in the home and even the staff was nodding off during their shifts. Like what kind of a place are you running here? Toxic!

It was all coming at once and we latched onto Ascend Healthcare seeking answers, and a change for our daughter -- to pull her up and help her thrive again. What we initially got was charged A LOT Theres a "wellness fee" they charge on top of insurance, it's not in their contract, but it's about an additional $4500 a month. I was stunned to pay this once and requested to pay again after my daughter had been in treatment a month here. Besides this, the care my daughter received I believe was extra ordinary. Damilola Adefeso Psychiatric Mental Health, Nurse Practitioner worked greatly with my daughter. He kept us in the loop and described what she was going through in language we could understand. Also, her Therapist, Alexandra Rodriguez took time to work closely with my daughter. My daughter followed a good schedule here, and had outings. She stayed for a little over two months, and came home rested and loaded with new skills to combat the anxiety as well as new medications which seemed to improve her mood and look on life. I will say they the packing list was a bit monotonous yet they never used much of the items we had packed for our daughter. Once we got very scared because our daughter was unreachable for about 24 hours, as was Ascend. My husband and I worried something happened. We later got word that three was internet and phone problem and no one could call outside or be called. I found this excuse to be dumb because you'd they'd have a good old fashioned copper wire phone line that didn't exist on internet. They should definitely have a plan for this. This is mainly why I can't give Ascend more than 3.5 stars.

I followed the rules, made progress in my recovery, and even served as Head of Household for three weeks with no disciplinary issues. Despite this, I was treated unfairly and experienced retaliation after reporting staff misconduct. Major issues: * Retaliation -- After reporting a group facilitator for targeting and unprofessional behavior, staff attitudes toward me changed and my progress was blocked. * Delayed phase advancement -- I was not phased up appropriately. My counselor later admitted I had not been given required assignments, yet my progress was still held back. * False accusations -- I was accused of not participating right before I was supposed to phase up. This was untrue and contradicted my documented progress. * Lack of transparency -- When I asked for written policies explaining decisions affecting my treatment, they would not provide them. * Denied critical emotional support -- I requested support for a major facial reconstructive surgery appointment at the cancer hospital and was refused. This caused severe emotional distress and a panic attack. This facility talks about recovery but does not practice fairness, accountability, or trauma-informed care. Clients deserve honesty and respect. I did not receive either here.

For someone with such experience and expertise, she's extremely down-to-earth and approachable. I came to Dr. Vause at a time of change in my life (at work, with family, and in my relationships), and my stress was surging. My depression and anxiety levels were becoming hard to manage, and I was turning to drugs and alcohol to cope. Dr. Vause helped me get through it. In addition to counseling, she guided me through some challenging but needed adjustments to my medication regimen. Every med suggestion was explained clearly, Dr. Vause answered all of my questions, and I knew what to expect in terms of effects and side-effects. I never felt as if pills were just being pushed my way; she really wanted me to participate in my own treatment and understand her reasoning. In addition to the excellent medication recommendations and adjustments, she is a wonderful therapist. Since seeing her, I have felt much better, and have experienced real improvements in my life. Her combination of innate sensitivity, compassion, and deep medical expertise is quite rare. I feel completely comfortable and secure in this relationship, and am fortunate to have found this exceptional doctor. I know I am cared for as a whole person, not just a bundle of problems, and there's nothing I hesitate to talk to Dr. Vause about. Having her in my life is itself therapeutic and a source of strength for me. Thank you Dr. Vause!

She seemed completely unapologetic and I felt like I was simply wasting her time and she just wanted me to hang up. Obviously since she has no openings for new clients there is no harm to her business by posting this...only saving others from wasting their time. I am suicidal and need a doctor asap. But I don't need a doctor that lacks compassion and has no interest to help unless you happen to be an existing patient.

I can say he is one of the few doctors that I trust with my medical care and that I would highly recommend to my family and friends or anyone seeking pain management. He hasn't gotten rid of me though because now I am starting migraine treatment with him. The office is beautiful. The moment you walk in you are greeted by the wonderful ladies at front desk. Huge thanks to Leslie for always squeezing me in and answering all of my questions and to Lisa for always making my check-in process easy. Nikita is amazing and friendly always making me feel calm while doing my medical intake (it would always cause me anxiety to discuss my medical problems). And Julie, she's at check out, super sweet and helpful when it comes to insurance questions and booking appts and procedures. The surgical center, hands down the best! From front desk to the nursing team, they are all super comforting. I had Sonia and Chelsea as my nurses and they always went above and beyond.
