Got a cold brew and it was horrific. $5.75 and super bitter and dark. Don't recommend.

Came on a Sunday around 11am and it was packed but our order was taken pretty fast. Has a nice selection of drinks and some food and pastries. We ordered a Latte and one of their siganture drinks Hawaiian Latte Iced. For me the quality of the coffee is extremely important and this one was excellent. The Hawaiian Latte had the Coconut/Macademia flavor taking you back to Hawaii. Loved the ambiance, they even have a section of local goodies to purchase. Parking is the only thing that you may have to park wherever you find parking and walk, but Liberty Station is meant for that to enjoy all the cool things it has to offer.

Moniker General…read moreCo. is a bustling coffee shop located right in the center of it all--next to bars, breweries, mini-golf, actual golf, crafts shops, maker markets, restaurants, beauticians, and even an airport! Parking is tricky here because there's so much happening around the shop. You'll be able to find some parking along the big ring that runs around Liberty Station or in the nearby parking lots, but it may take a few minutes walk to get to the cafe. When you're at Moniker General, it's a bright, artistic, and open-air environment. The double wide doors open up to the street and tall windows let in plenty of natural light. Studying or working here is a dream. You'll find stressed students and corporate slaves alike lounging about. One particularly interesting thing that happens at Moniker is you get a lot of families and groups of people with kids stopping by on their day out at Liberty Station. I come here once or twice a month when I feel bored of the usual cafes and want something more spacious and less packed. But I always, always have one specific disappointment... My only (and big) issue with Moniker is their drinks--the actual coffees and teas they make and sell. Everything tastes rather bland for a drink that you are charged $10 on. As I was sipping my chai latte drink, the second drink I asked them to make after my first order of the Tiramisu Latte was not having a tiramisu vibe at all--I realized I didn't even like their chai! I was too nervous to ask for a second re-make, and I felt defeated. I wish I had gone to Starbucks instead. I have been to a dozen cafes in San Diego and Moniker's chai is special to me for tasting like shitty syrup. If you come here, pick something safe that's hard to screw up. Perhaps a black coffee, tea, or a lemonade. I wouldn't try a latte or crafted drink unless you're really okay with whatever comes out of their gorgeous cafe. ----- 3/5 STARS + Aesthetics + Name brand (people like Moniker as a local hotspot) - Drinks taste bad (in my opinion)
