I've been coming to Ryan Automotive for about 5+ years now and been satisfied with each visit. They don't try to sell you on extra things you don't need and they get the job done. Mostly my visits are for annual inspections, and they're always done in a timely manner. I recommend calling ahead if you would like to arrange your visit for maximum smoothness as they can get busy at times. The service is great, and prices are, too. Some of the best service shops are right in my own neighborhood. I've always taken my car to Ryan Automotive when it comes to tires as well as inspection and have always been pleased with their work. They are always busy but never too busy to help this damsel in distress whenever that low tire pressure indicator light comes on in the car. They are a Goodyear company and sell quality tires. Bill is honest, extremely hard working and during today's visit we discussed getting new tires as recommended by my service visit. He told me he wanted to examine those tires first before ordering new ones. I did think it strange I would need tires again so soon but I do much city driving and chalked it up to that. I got a call at home later from him explained to me that my existing tires had double the tread life still in them and there was no need to replace at this time unless I wanted to. My husband and I came over to get the car and he showed me how dealer mechanics don't always check the tread in multiple spots but usually will pick the center and assume. He asked me if I still wanted the new ones. I graciously declined and was glad about the savings that will help me pay my deductible when my car goes in for repair following the skid accident. He will revisit those tires in the fall when it is more likely they will need them. We discussed service intervals. He told me that I didn't need to show him my maintenance book. All I need do is advise him of the mileage and he could look it up on his computer for what the service interval requires. I have been happy with all my tire purchases and they offer a tire protection plan which if you are driving around Pittsburgh I would recommend with all those potholes and construction. Pricing is fair. They have a waiting lounge but with my living so close it's an easy walk. You can also check out the Crafton Ingram shopping center if day is nice since it sits right on the corner. No more dealerships for me. You can get an apt within a matter of days. Just be willing to go with the flow on their schedule and I guarantee you they will get your car finished within the time frames specified. read more

Super FAST service! I had a flat tire and needed a quick fix. I called them around 8am and they told me they might get it done around 12p. Came in 5 mins later and found out I had to get a new tire. I thought it's going to take them a whole day. They finished it within an hour!! Staff is super friendly and helpful! read more

No matter what time you schedule your appointment, they are always behind. My left wheel bearing went bad while I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach. I had it replaced by Goodyear before we drove back to PA. When we got home the sound came back. I called Goodyear and they said it was covered under warranty and I could take it to Ryan's. I took it there and they said the wheel bearing wasn't bad. I knew it was though from the same sound and feel when driving. They refused to fix it. I took it to the Goodyear in Robinson and they found out the mechanic in Myrtle never changed the bearing they only greased it. They replaced the entire thing under warranty. They said it was obvious the wheel bearing was bad and couldn't see why Ryan's lied? Don't trust Ryan's Auto. read more

Bill and everyone else at Ryan Automotive are the best auto mechanics around. I trust them with all of my car inspections, tire replacements, and to give me auto repair advice in general. I called Bill yesterday to run a transmission issue I was having with another shop. He talked to me for 5 minutes on the phone explaining the problem in terms that I could understand, and giving me advice on what to do. To be clear, it wasn't this shop I was having issues with, and I wasn't paying Bill anything at all. He talked me through an issue to help me in the right direction just because he's honest like that. That's the kind of guy Bill is. I don't think I'll ever be as trusting of another auto mechanic. Bill and the other guys have spoiled me. I'll be a customer of this shop for a very long time to come. I live right around the corner so it's a great location. You see the goodyear name and get scared but they pointed out to me they are independently owned. My wife and I have taken our cars there several times already and this place is awesome! They always get us in when they can. Bill and Dan are good, honest and hard working people! Their prices are always fair and they do a great job! One example is I had a flat tire in the Morning. Bill said come in after work at 5pm because they close at 6. I got in at 5pm, he said we'll give you an economy tire for a cheap price. In and out in an hour for 91 bucks!!!!! This really is a great place to take your car. read more

I've come here for repairs multiple times and the stuff they fix never stays fixed. My window is still broken even though I payed them to "put a new motor" in it. Then my ac and heat was messed up and they had no solution whatsoever. What place doesn't have an answer? Smh. Well today was the last straw. After spending thousands of dollars at this place. I schedule an appointment for inspection. I'm told to bring it Friday and they will get it done. I show up at 3 pm and they close at 6. Nothing is needed done for my car to be inspected. Only the emissions test. They tell me they can't take it until Wednesday. They could have easily let me leave it there until Saturday and completed the easy fucking job. This shop is as good as it gets. The crew at Ryan Automotive truly understand that people come first. While I was visiting Pittsburgh to check out the neighborhood I'll be moving to, my check engine light came on and my RPM's began to increase while my speedometer wouldn't accelerate past 65 mph. My car was shaking and thought that it may be a serious transmission issue. Since it was a Sunday, and I had to get back to New Jersey, I had no choice to bring my car to PepBoys for a diagnostic (which wound up revealing spark plugs and an ignition coil) . Following the diagnostic, PepBoys (as expected) gave me an absurd estimate and so I did some in depth online research. I read nothing but positive reviews about Ryan Automotive and gave the guys a call and was met with nothing but courtesy and assurance over the phone that they would do right by me and not only address the issue but offer a fair price. I must say, my first impression of Crafton, Pittsburgh, and the surrounding is a great one due to the professionalism and friendliness of the staff at Ryan Automotive, so much so that I am writing this review during my incredibly busy work day. LOVE these guys! The last two times I've been in have been for "noises" that I thought would be big ($$$$) problems - the crew at Ryan found the trouble, luckily just small, easy fixes and took care of me. I always feel comfortable here, they are honest and do a great job. On my last fix I called Friday morning, they were able to get me in on Saturday, everything, including my inspection, fixing the "noise", and some mileage based upkeep was done quickly and my girl was ready by noon. This shop is the best. They are super trustworthy which is hard to find when it comes to mechanics. A friend of mine had recommended that I get a second opinion from them after I had just bought new tires at Sears and they were trying to tell me that something else (super expensive) also needed done. I called up Ryan's, and they didn't have any appointments open, but told me to stop by anyway, and someone would take some time to check it out. I got there, someone looked at it immediately, and within 15 min. was explaining to me that he could see why Sears had maybe mentioned it, but that he saw no reason to go ahead and do any work. So 20min. of my time, and $0 later, I wasn't spending an arm and a leg on something that hadn't even needed to be done in the first place. I will always take my car to Ryan's. read more
