Strike 4 - Was told it is against Federal Law to give 2-year prescription - but I am a retired lawyer who once represented several optical companies and I know better. Strike 5 - When I asked "what specific Federal Law is that ...?" the manager got testy and said "You have to leave now." So I got tossed out for calling her bluff. Crazy. I got a real, comprehensive exam. She has adorable kids. My eyes are good, but they have changed since the exam at the "other" place. They take my insurance, which is great! I like to wear vintage cateye frames from the 50s. Wasn't a problem. Natalie got it all measured up and sent out. She is very knowledgeable about vintage frames. They do seem to have a nice frame selection. Vicki was very pleasant too. I was concerned at first that Grandville was a drive, but definitely worth it. It's right downtown and easy to find. She took a full hour with me and explained different procedures with me, such as cataracts, contacts, bi- focals, eyelid correction& answered all my questions! Coming from a background where my brother Dr Dale Van Dyke, was always our family optometrist! I had moved back to Grandville and he was retired, so I tried the fast paced eye care places,like RX OPTICAL, etc...only to find rushed , and assembly line care. I picked the piece that I had envisioned and was very happy to know that cost included a lifetime warranty if anything was defective by the manufacturer. Including missing crystals, discoloration of the gold and will help fix anything so I'm satisfied! As long as it wasn't a user error and I had the original item.
