No one wears a name tag and no one introduced themselves.. never knew who it was working with me or what they were doing. The guy helping me asked if I wanted the transition sunglasses and I told him no because I wanted the clip on sunglasses. Everything seemed to go well. It took nearly 3 months for my glasses to arrive. I kept calling and got different excuses as to why it was taking so long. Very soon after I got my glasses, less than a week, I noticed that there were issues looking through the lenses. Spots of light all over the place. I went back to see what the problem was and they tell me that there was no anti-glare coating on the lenses. I told the guy that checked me out that I wanted everything but the transition sunglasses because I was getting the magnet clip on sunglasses. Apparently he screwed it up and didn't add anything to my lenses. It cost me another $100 to get this added. It took another 3 weeks to get my glasses back. Last week, less than 1 year of wearing my glasses, one of the magnets came out of my lenses. This made my clip on sunglasses useless. I went in today to see about getting this fixed. I was told that since I didn't have a warranty that it would "probably" cost $50, she really didn't have a clue. The magnet that I need replaced is almost as small as a pin head. She then told me that they would have to send my glasses back to the lab for the repair. She then said, seriously, that the other option would be to order new lenses. I said, irritated, that that would be over $500 and she responded by saying "yeah". I told her that I would never return to GRO and that I have never had such horrible service in my life. I walked out. During this whole ordeal they acted like it was MY PROBLEM, not theirs. The ridiculous delays, the conflicting excuses and I was powerless. They had my money and all I could do was wait. I DO NOT recommend anyone using GRO for yours frames and lenses. Take your script and go somewhere else. SVS has always treated me well and I've never had any issues with them. They just don't offer clip on sunglasses.

Normally doctor offices will give you a time frame on how long it will take for someone to get back with you but she would give me no time frame at all. I asked her if it would be a day or a week and she said another office recently closed their doors without notice and they were currently trying to reschedule "thousands" of patients. I asked her if I should be looking for another eye doctor and she repeated that someone would reach out to me and then abruptly hung up in my ear. The rudeness and unprofessionalism of this office is OFF THE CHARTS!

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes (the Covid-19 pandemic was beginning to spread). Everything was closing, including the surgery center in Portage. I was the last patient for more than 2 months. That meant my second eye surgery was cancelled. However, I was able to contact them if I needed to and get answers to any questions during that time. Dr. Joseph Doe had done my husband's cataract surgery and he has been very happy with the results. When the surgery center reopened, I was contacted immediately for my second cataract surgery. I am now on my third day after surgery. I have been back to be checked to make sure everything is healing properly. I am THRILLED with my 20/20 vision! Only inexpensive reading glasses required! Dr. Joseph Doe is friendly, kind, and reassuring as is everyone in that office! I'm 79 years old. I have NEVER SEEN BETTER IN MY LIFE! I highly recommend these folks.

They dilated my 6yrs eyes and then left us in a room for 40 minutes giving her enough time to work herself in a frenzy of fear. Then they got impatient with her for her anxiety attack. The day of radio silence so we thought all was well.... wrong... apparently they tried to call me multiple times. They had my phone number wrong, buy didnt even try to call dad. They then sent an email a hour before our appt as we were on the road to the appt to inform us the glasses weren't in. They gave such attitude when we got in like why did I give them the wrong number... I didn't... they did that to themselves. Plus they also had dads number. They also had all day to send an email and not RIGHT before the appt. Definitely will be will looking for an alternative pediatric optometrist. Do not take your children here. We ended up getting recheck at the Grandville office and they were so kind and amazed at how bad the Holland office messed up my daughter's prescription.

I called ahead of time to ask about these and was assured that staff would mask if requested. I have been back there at least 6 times and each time, had to remind a member of the staff to mask. Once, the response was, "Oh, now I have to go find a mask!" Dr. Tomaselli even once had to be reminded. I saw numerous patients masking and I know from experience, people are shy about asking someone to mask. It seemed as if I was the only one for whom they masked. I feel that if you are treating someone who is masking or at any rate, getting within inches of someone's face, it might be a good practice for all staff to mask. During my cataract procedure, a nurse named Mary Beth had a mask hanging off her nose, not attached in the back, so her mouth was virtually not covered the entire time. In the surgical center. Aside from the masking, there is the issue of impersonal treatment. Not once was I asked about myself or did the doctor spend more than five minutes with me. However, the wait was always at least an hour overall to get in and out of the offices. Not thrilled with the service whatsoever. Staff seemed overworked and unfriendly. The only conversation I heard was complaining about scheduling. I was very surprised that there was no online interaction with the office - for appointments, instructions or anything. Like any other medical facility in 2023! Nothing. I was given papers while sedated to explain procedures and had to call numerous times to make sure appointments were in the correct facility. Overall, not a very professional or satisfactory experience.

I don't have many choices when it comes to retina specialists in the area. Doctor Korot is very knowledgeable, but did not spend a lot of time with me. This was hard as a patient. I get other patients might have more urgent needs, but if I waited over two hours to see you because my retina is detaching, I'd appreciate better "bedside manner." Annual check ups matter too!!! If I could get a referral to a different doctor, I would change offices. Second reason I do not recommend this office: my appointments have been canceled last minute, and rescheduling is damn near impossible. I can never get anyone on the phone! The folks who do take calls don't work in the office and have to leave a note with the office. It took over five times for me to call and leave a message to get a returned call! Again very frustrating from the patient side. Finally, paying a bill is more difficult than it should be. You get the bill in the mail with a number to call. But guess what? The operators say the office is busy and they'll "call you back." I'm not sure what else can be done, aside from going into the office to pay my bill. I would argue that you have to go to the office to schedule and pay bills in person because the phone and email do not seem to work. Please do better, retina specialists of Michigan. You can hire more people to help with admin work, this might actually help patients.

Eventually I got a real person who said I would be called back by a biller. Never happened. I called at least 3 times. I don't drive but I may have to get a ride and go there in person to pay my bill. I am so frustrated.
