Dr. Dewitt was great to work with! However, the other staff…read moreI encountered weren't the greatest. The receptionist hardly looked me in the eye and just loudly said "DRIVER'S LICENSE AND INSURANCE PLEASE." No one wears a name tag and no one introduced themselves.. never knew who it was working with me or what they were doing. Name tags and introductions are so important, especially in an office setting.

Last year, July 2023, I had an eye exam and needed new glasses. Big surprise…read more I went to GRO was because they're the only place in town that offers magnetic clip on sunglasses. The guy helping me asked if I wanted the transition sunglasses and I told him no because I wanted the clip on sunglasses. Everything seemed to go well. It took nearly 3 months for my glasses to arrive. I kept calling and got different excuses as to why it was taking so long. Very soon after I got my glasses, less than a week, I noticed that there were issues looking through the lenses. Spots of light all over the place. I went back to see what the problem was and they tell me that there was no anti-glare coating on the lenses. I told the guy that checked me out that I wanted everything but the transition sunglasses because I was getting the magnet clip on sunglasses. Apparently he screwed it up and didn't add anything to my lenses. It cost me another $100 to get this added. It took another 3 weeks to get my glasses back. Last week, less than 1 year of wearing my glasses, one of the magnets came out of my lenses. This made my clip on sunglasses useless. I went in today to see about getting this fixed. I was told that since I didn't have a warranty that it would "probably" cost $50, she really didn't have a clue. The magnet that I need replaced is almost as small as a pin head. She then told me that they would have to send my glasses back to the lab for the repair. She then said, seriously, that the other option would be to order new lenses. I said, irritated, that that would be over $500 and she responded by saying "yeah". I told her that I would never return to GRO and that I have never had such horrible service in my life. I walked out. During this whole ordeal they acted like it was MY PROBLEM, not theirs. The ridiculous delays, the conflicting excuses and I was powerless. They had my money and all I could do was wait. I DO NOT recommend anyone using GRO for yours frames and lenses. Take your script and go somewhere else. SVS has always treated me well and I've never had any issues with them. They just don't offer clip on sunglasses.

Had an appointment with them just this morning. Issue one--Told them over the phone I just needed…read morean exam because I hadn't been in a while and she asked if I needed contacts and I said maybe, yah, maybe. So the exam was supposed to be 49 bucks. When I pay, it's now 89. I asked why and she said because you got a contact eye exam. I was so confused and said on the phone you told me 49 and she said yes that's correct but its 89 for a contact exam. No one there told me there was a difference and that it would be almost double. Issue 2--I had to do some pre-exam screening. The girl did the first test, then did the puff of air in the eye test, and then said another test was 15 extra. So I said sure, let's do it (after all, i thought i was spending 49). Then when I get into the office with the doctor, she says I have great vision. I said well if i wasn't wearing my contacts I couldn't have seen anything. Then she says "you wore your contacts during the tests" and i said "yes" and she said "the girl didn't ask you to take them out?" and I said "nope" and she asked "did she do the puff of air in the eye test with your contacts in" and I said "yes". So we had to do them all again. Issue 3--glasses are signed at 2 pair for 89 bucks. When i chose two pair ( and before I was told that I got bait and switched with the eye exam) the lady totaled them up and said it's 159 each. I was floored. She said there are add on and it's because of my prescription. I passed on the glasses. I don't know what kind of scam is going on there, but I won't be spending any more money there and I recommend you don't either.

She put my lenses in a different frame to get me by and After working with Maria, she was very gracious to replace the lens and frames, free of charge, when we returned from our trip. Thank you for working with me. It was greatly appreciated.
