Staff greeted me, cleaned my chair, and took me to quiet area to fill out forms. About five minutes later the Doctor came to greet me and perform my diabetic eye exam. He wore a face mask during my exam, which made me feel better. The doctor was very friendly, asked me many questions and answered me with respect. I had a few questions on my own and he was very helpful; I did not feel I was "talked-down" to. The cost for the service was the best in town, only $57, worth the price, as other clinics in the area charged $30-35 more. Purchasing eye glasses and frames were not available at this time due to COVID. I was able to walk out with my prescription; I will order my frames and glasses on-line at a later date. So the exam was supposed to be 49 bucks. When I pay, it's now 89. I asked why and she said because you got a contact eye exam. I was so confused and said on the phone you told me 49 and she said yes that's correct but its 89 for a contact exam. No one there told me there was a difference and that it would be almost double. Issue 2--I had to do some pre-exam screening. The girl did the first test, then did the puff of air in the eye test, and then said another test was 15 extra. So I said sure, let's do it (after all, i thought i was spending 49). Then when I get into the office with the doctor, she says I have great vision. I said well if i wasn't wearing my contacts I couldn't have seen anything. Then she says "you wore your contacts during the tests" and i said "yes" and she said "the girl didn't ask you to take them out?" and I said "nope" and she asked "did she do the puff of air in the eye test with your contacts in" and I said "yes". So we had to do them all again. Issue 3--glasses are signed at 2 pair for 89 bucks. When i chose two pair ( and before I was told that I got bait and switched with the eye exam) the lady totaled them up and said it's 159 each. I was floored. She said there are add on and it's because of my prescription. I passed on the glasses. I don't know what kind of scam is going on there, but I won't be spending any more money there and I recommend you don't either.

Couldn't get an appointment in Kalamazoo to have my cataracts removed, they were scheduling four…read moremonths out. A friend told me about Grand Rapids Opthalmology (GRO). I called them and got a consultation for the following day. Dr Muallem was very professional and suggested the Light Adjustable Lenses, which corrects the near and far sightedness. He said that there was a 99.7% success rate. I had the surgery a couple of weeks later, five days apart. Three weeks later I returned to see Dr Flikkema for the adjustments, a week apart. Finally the sealing took place and now I have 20/20 vision and no glasses needed. I found out later that only the large cities have this procedure. I couldn't be more pleased. Only downside was the 50 miles one way (9 times) trips to GRO. All in all definitely worth it.

They premeasured our kitchen way in advance and created templates for the new granite tops. When the day came to install the granite top, it went like clockwork. They also made the backsplash so its thinner than the counter top. Very nice to look at. This may be a minor detail but its important. I thought their price was fair for the quality of the work. One thing noticeable was that they color-matched the adhesive they applied between the backsplash and the counter. Because of the cost of putting Granite (or quartz), we took our time (about 8 mos) selecting a contractor. We shopped at 5 places plus attended the Parade of Homes where we could see the installed work. The parade of Homes is a great way to get ideas and see work of various contractors. IMHO, selecting a contractor to do granite, quartz or any solid surface work cannot be rushed. And price should not be the sole basis. Best advise - ask to look at several of their work. I have seen work of other installers that made me feel really good that I went with GLGW. There are cheaper alternatives out there but as they say "you get what you pay for". I highly recommend them.

Took them back and re-explained the issue. Did an exam which showed I was correct. Lenses sent back and corrected. This past July I dropped off frames to get new lenses. Explained again and was told I was overdue for an exam. I stated this prescription was working perfectly and was not necessary. He looked up my cover​age in VSP, said "You've got good insurance and your exams are free." Turned down the exam. Not necessary. Prescription fine. Paid my deductible. Next morning, he calls me dayong the insurance company turned it do​wn without an exam and wanted yo schedule an exam. I turned it down and told I'd be in to p/u my frames and refund. I immediately called VSP who stated they received yhe request that's pending and did not/would not tell them that. I returned and picked up my frames and refunded copy. If I was told it was their policy, I can respect that. He lied blaming VSP to get the "FREE" exam out of my insurance company on top of the $600 sum lenses. I will mot do business with a dishonest retailer. The exam every two years is a recommendation not a requirement per VSP.​​​ ​​​ I will give someone else the "FREE" exam who doesn't lie to me to get it cause VSP will pay it. And we wonder why healthcare costs are up?
