I don't have many choices when it comes to retina specialists in the area. Doctor Korot is very knowledgeable, but did not spend a lot of time with me. This was hard as a patient. I get other patients might have more urgent needs, but if I waited over two hours to see you because my retina is detaching, I'd appreciate better "bedside manner." Annual check ups matter too!!! If I could get a referral to a different doctor, I would change offices. Second reason I do not recommend this office: my appointments have been canceled last minute, and rescheduling is damn near impossible. I can never get anyone on the phone! The folks who do take calls don't work in the office and have to leave a note with the office. It took over five times for me to call and leave a message to get a returned call! Again very frustrating from the patient side. Finally, paying a bill is more difficult than it should be. You get the bill in the mail with a number to call. But guess what? The operators say the office is busy and they'll "call you back." I'm not sure what else can be done, aside from going into the office to pay my bill. I would argue that you have to go to the office to schedule and pay bills in person because the phone and email do not seem to work. Please do better, retina specialists of Michigan. You can hire more people to help with admin work, this might actually help patients.

Doctors are the best, wonderful, can do painless eye injections. But when it comes to attempting to…read morepay the bill, it is a nightmare. If the doctors were not so good I would leave this practice. Who would imagine paying a bill would be difficult? Paying online was supposed to work but it did not. When calling, first you get an artificial assistant that frankly I first thought was a real person who did not know how to listen, but no, it was AI. Eventually I got a real person who said I would be called back by a biller. Never happened. I called at least 3 times. I don't drive but I may have to get a ride and go there in person to pay my bill. I am so frustrated.

The receptionist hardly looked me in the eye and just loudly said "DRIVER'S LICENSE AND INSURANCE PLEASE." No one wears a name tag and no one introduced themselves.. never knew who it was working with me or what they were doing. The guy helping me asked if I wanted the transition sunglasses and I told him no because I wanted the clip on sunglasses. Everything seemed to go well. It took nearly 3 months for my glasses to arrive. I kept calling and got different excuses as to why it was taking so long. Very soon after I got my glasses, less than a week, I noticed that there were issues looking through the lenses. Spots of light all over the place. I went back to see what the problem was and they tell me that there was no anti-glare coating on the lenses. I told the guy that checked me out that I wanted everything but the transition sunglasses because I was getting the magnet clip on sunglasses. Apparently he screwed it up and didn't add anything to my lenses. It cost me another $100 to get this added. It took another 3 weeks to get my glasses back. Last week, less than 1 year of wearing my glasses, one of the magnets came out of my lenses. This made my clip on sunglasses useless. I went in today to see about getting this fixed. I was told that since I didn't have a warranty that it would "probably" cost $50, she really didn't have a clue. The magnet that I need replaced is almost as small as a pin head. She then told me that they would have to send my glasses back to the lab for the repair. She then said, seriously, that the other option would be to order new lenses. I said, irritated, that that would be over $500 and she responded by saying "yeah". I told her that I would never return to GRO and that I have never had such horrible service in my life. I walked out. During this whole ordeal they acted like it was MY PROBLEM, not theirs. The ridiculous delays, the conflicting excuses and I was powerless. They had my money and all I could do was wait. I DO NOT recommend anyone using GRO for yours frames and lenses. Take your script and go somewhere else. SVS has always treated me well and I've never had any issues with them. They just don't offer clip on sunglasses.

Fro the beginning of treatment until my last visit I received excellent care. I was first treated for dry eye and then had another type of presurgery treatment in both eyes. I had Lasik surgery years ago so I opted to get what was probably the best option for me was the LAL lenses! Both Dr Trevor who did the surgery and Dr Felicia who did the final adjustments and lockin were great. They explained everything and were kind and caring. I was told that I might need reading glassesbut I reading is not a problem. My huusband will need cataract surgery in the future and he plans on seeing restortion Eye.

To be honest, I don't even know where to begin on this one. 1 star is far too generous. However,…read morethe front receptionist, Emily is fantastic and was of the nicest medical receptionists I've encountered so I'm excusing her from this review. I was referred here after a routine visit at a SVS vision as a possible glaucoma suspect. My doctor wasn't concerned due to my young age and zero family history of this but wanted to do his due diligence which I appreciate. Upon looking into this office I saw that it was brand new and thought it kind of strange on SVS's end to refer me to a very brand new practice yet but alas. The day of the appointment, Emily, the receptionist, ran all the testing on me. In the middle of one of the tests, Dr. Trevor Smith came in to "assist" Emily and not once did he introduce himself or say anything to me. The testing of my eyes took all of 15 minutes if that. I was then taken to another room and waited for the doctor. He came in the room and this is where it all went downhill. I don't expect doctors to be overly warm and fuzzy by any means but I do expect at least an ounce of acceptable bedside manner which this man had absolutely ZERO. He was aloof, smug and cold for the entirety of it. He said some vague things about my eyes, gave me a nonverbal diagnosis (I had to prompt him to even tell me what he was trying to say, to which he nodded his head yes in response to my question. At this point I'm clearly upset (who wouldn't be?) I sat there crying while this man stared at me like I was an alien. No sympathy, no understanding, nothing. Just pushes me off to the front desk receptionist who I'm positive heard the entire exchange because the door was left open the entire time (so unprofessional). Who doesn't close the door when discussing patient health information? If there had been ANYBODY sitting in that waiting room, (now I see why there wasn't!) they would've heard all of it. The entire exchange felt surreal due to how rushed and wildly uncomfortable it was from beginning to end to be honest. When I left that day, I was disturbed, extremely upset and honestly a little traumatized after the entire experience. I've never left a doctors office feeling so confused and skeptical and my skepticism is ultimately what saved me in the end. ALWAYS get a second and third opinion if something doesn't feel right. After taking some time to process and discussing it with family and friends I realized how many red flags were raised throughout that appointment and that my gut instinct did not feel right about the swift diagnosis without a FULL panel of thorough testing. And let me tell you, THANK GOD I trusted my feelings and advocated for myself before returning to that doctor or doing any of the "treatments" he pushed on me. I decided to immediately pursue a doctor who was a highly esteemed specialist in glaucoma (go to a specialist, it matters) and has been treating patients for decades. Sure enough, my eyes are perfectly healthy after doing 3 and a half hours of testing (compared to 15 minutes) with an eye doctor who is not only competent but understands how to speak to patients and doesn't give vague, unspecified diagnoses without even bothering to do a FULL panel of testing. Not 15 minutes. I went on to get a THIRD AND FOURTH opinion just in case, and lo and behold, my eyes including pressures, retinal imaging etc, the whole 9 yards, are FINE. A good doctor will know what to check for and how to compare data to make a truly informed and educated diagnosis. Everyone that I told about my experience, including the different doctors I saw were absolutely BAFFLED by my experience here. Really makes me wonder if SVS vision or this "practice" makes a commission off of getting patients referred here. This place has scam written all over it. DO NOT GO HERE.
