I purchased a new pair of glasses less than six months ago. Both of the lenses started developing multiple cracks at the top of the lens. I stopped in to see why and what could be done. I have been a glasses wearer since the 1st grade. As a fully grown adult that is a long time. RX Optical in gull rd is a good place for people like me. They take their time with the exam and with your eye wear selection. I also appreciate the kindness expressed when explaining to you how vision changes as you age. There is no judgement when you ask them to make your glasses look like they are for fashion. They are a little pricey. However the quality of service makes it worthwhile. read more

Went for an eye exam and found I had cataracts. They were supposed to get back with me for a referral to an ophthalmologist . After 3 days I finally called back to find out what my referral was supposed to be. After being on hold for 10 minutes the receptionist came back and said there it was not noted in my account and said he would have to talk to the doctor....still don't know what my referral is. Decided to go with RX optical due to proximity to home for my latest pair of glasses. Picked out a pair and was sticker shocked by the 2x amount I usually pay by a gal that clearly didn't want to be there. So upon return I was handed the glasses and got ready for the inevitable adjustments with the same gal with the bad attitude. When I saw that they were loose and would fall off my head I related my predicament and handed the glasses back to her she looked at me and said "these glasses don't adjust". So for a year or so I've had the worst glasses I've ever had. I can't see right through the transitions, their foggy, they scratch easy, and they fall off and need to be pushed up on nose every 3 - 5 seconds that I've paid double the usual amount. I've also read the reviews here and am surprised at the positive reviews on employee's. I watch for companies that hold on to there help as I want to frequent those establishments who take care of there employee's. High turn over = poor management. In my particular location at Gull Rd, there are new employee's anytime I have gone in, including the person that helped me. My advise is to go elsewhere for glasses. There are so many other options nowadays that are waaaaaay cheaper. read more

Another failed customer experience here today. My past experiences have been so poor I use another local store to get my glasses made. However our insurance insists we use them. Today RX Optical notified us 2 hours before our daughters appointment it had been canceled. They said she had not confirmed her scheduled appointment. Note she called and confirmed last week by phone. My wife had an appointment for today also, that's how we learned the daughters appointment was canceled (not by a call!). They had asked her to confirm her appointment last night also. For over 60 minutes and 20+ attempts we kept calling but no one would answer. Once whe got through she confirmed both appointments for today. So not impressed. So wish we could get competent customer service.!!!! If you have the ability, go anywhere else but here!!! read more

I have been a faithful customer at this business for well over 20 years. I have brought my husband and my son to this business as patients also. I am usually given a very prompt appointment when I call, but do to Covid I had to wait 2.5 weeks this time. I understand this completely, no problem, however when I asked if they could order me some contacts to get me through until my appointment they refused. (Because my perscription expired 5 weeks ago). So the contacts I wore just days ago may have been an inappropriate perscription?) I had no other choice but to go elsewhere so I could see for the next two weeks. Would have stayed with you forever, but I found better service that understands sometimes you just run out of contacts without realizing it. I'be been going to the store for several years and never had issue. Glasses always fit great and prescriptions were right on. It's been 2 years since my last eye exam so I recently went for and eye exam and new lenses. The exam with the Dr. was not as long as my prior exams, less tests, it was different. Anyways got my new lenses and they're not right so I went back to return them. I customer service girl was rude and insisted the prescription was right and that they wasn't much difference from my old glasses. I told her I didn't want them. She went to talk to the doctor or someone in the back offered another eye exam to confirm the prescription was right, I went and no change so they recommended wearing them for a month to see if my mind would adjust. There has been no change so these lenses are going back and I'm taking my prescriptions and finding a new doctor. Sad. read more

I went in for an exam on a monday the exam was detailed but I wasnt informed or asked what level of service I required I said my eys had gottne worse since my last visit at the end of the long exam I picked out a frame and was told my charges wouldd be over 1000 dollars Now I paid it them bur I remember seeinf signs all over the windows saying glasses single lend 98.00 I have no I dea why my price was so much more but that isnt the reason I have a problem my invoice clearly stated pick up in 1 week the folowig monday well I caled monday to verify they were ready and was told no they arentdone yet wit no explanation why I called the day after same eaxact response no they arent ready check tomaarrow so I did again no not ready no we dont know why! by this time I was a bit upset so I called again thursday same responseI informed them that was not an answer I want more detail "why" I was informed the lab who they use broken the lens andhad to redo it that I understood I was also told it would be heree the next day they had been shippedI was even given a tracking number I called the next day eraly after I verified from thetracking that ups said deliver and signed for burt I was told no they arent here I said well they were deliverd shelooked again and said no stop bothering me they are not her I informed her this was rude and she was either wrong or jusrrt faabricating a story I asked to speak to some oneelse se said her manager would be in thenext day . sound familar? well I went in and told them I wanted a credit for what they said was supposed be here andahad not treated me right I paid for this and they didnt fulfil my purchase then and only them she said oh I issed them they are here! RX optical was bought by another company. I knew something was wrong when they tried to upcharge me for extra eye test,. Was told my contacts i wore for years were discontinued. So was given a trial set im suppose to wear a couple days before they would release my prescription. Was charged 125 for a fit test on the new lenses. Got home checked online and found my same old contacts that are supposed to be discontinued. Im betting they switch brands so they can charge for the fit test and make money off brands they only sell. All of the staff were insanely busy the day that I had my appointment, but their customer service was fabulous all things considering! They still prioritized my appointment as they acknowledged the busy phones and walk-ins, so it was very awesome how they juggled everything with a smile on their face. My tech's name was Sunshine and she helped me find two perfect pairs of glasses that fit well on my face and talked through all the different options to add to lenses as well. The rudest people I have ever met. The service was well below standards. I have worn glasses for many years. I know what the experience should be like. They did not offer much help in selection of frames and never fitted them on my daughter when we went to pick them up. They demanded 100% payment in full before order was placed. My S.O. needed a new pair of glasses and he usually goes to August optical however they make appointments for several months out and we didn't want to wait that long (Who does?!?) so I called Rx (my optometrist). They had an appointment for him in 2 days. Yay! He went to his appointment, ordered his new glasses and they called 2 days later and said they were in.
