I ended up being scammed by Richland eye care, scammed out of a whopping $300. I ordered a year…read moresupply of contacts through Richland eye care. The total was over $1,000. The reason I purchased a yearly supply was because of the $400 rebate from acuvue Kat informed me of. Saying it was a pretty incredible rebate. $400 rebate? Why wouldn't I purchase the year supply? Kat (along with another employee) told me all I had to do was go to the acuvue website follow the reward instructions and make sure I input a NEW email address. I did that. It did not give me a $400 rebate only a $100 rebate. Kat left me a voicemail saying "Jenny we talked about this, you must've forgotten, make sure you're using a work email or different email." I don't even have a work email because I'm a stay-at-home mom (hence why the $300 loss is a hard one.) I called kat back to inform her it's not an email address I needed, then they gave me two codes to input on the acuvue rewards website. I submitted all the necessary info. Still, a $100 rebate. Even if you use a new email- acuvue still has your information. You make a new profile with a new email address, you still have to input your first name and your last name your mailing address and your date of birth, using a new email doesn't do anything. So instead of getting the $400 rebate I was assured of receiving multiple times. I lost $300 and am only receiving $100. Not a single employee ever knows what's going on there and will steer you in any direction to get your money. Go elsewhere, learn from my loss!

I was coming back from Battle Creek VA after a visit with the optometrist there and decided to stop at the Hiemstra store in Kalamazoo on my way home. I ordered a pair of glasses with no issues, but I requested that their store send my glasses to the Paw Paw Hiemstra location as it is closer to where I live. I was assured they would do that. About a week later, I received a call from the Kalamazoo location letting me know they were in at their store. Again, I requested that they be sent to the Paw Paw location. A few days later the Paw Paw location let me know the glasses were in. The next morning I arrived at the Paw Paw location and checked in to get them and then was asked to take a seat...and there I sat forever. I watched as the store staff seemed to be channeling the DMV. They farted around, talked, drank coffee, and seemed to do everything but help customers waiting. There was one person on staff helping a customer, while the other two optical staff seemed to have more important things to do. They finally got around to me, and I got out of there, breathing a sigh of relief as one might after a visit to the DMV. Do better Hiemstra!

The next morning when I picked up the glasses from my desk they fell apart (top right portion of frame). On 6/30/26 I returned to Rx to for an explanation of why this happened. The clerk was somewhat mystified as well, stating that "this is something not expected from Oakley products". I pointed out that I am the "guy" who never abuses his tools. I wore the glasses properly and took care of them properly this should not have happened. Rx's manager suggested I should have purchased their $30 protection plan. So I had to buy new frames. On a whim I took the broken frames home and glued them together and then over the course of two weeks sprayed lens cleaner on them. Sure enough they fell apart. The not-so-good: She recommended a specific over-the-counter dry eye product that she also sells from among a whole line of OTC eye products in her office. They're expensive. I don't care for upselling like this in a medical professional's office. Some dermatologists do this too. That should not be. It presents a conflict of interest. Peddling optional products in a shoestore, beauty salon or car repair shop is no big deal because those provide things that have little to do with health and safety. Eye health (and dermatology) are different. I don't like my medical professionals to get commissions by recommending certain (pricey) products over others...that they just "happen" to sell in their offices. I bought a similar product at Walgreens for a fraction of the cost.
