On the upside, the park is extremely clean, and the location is super convenient for exploring Hood River and the surrounding area. The convenience store next door came in handy more than once, which was a nice bonus. Unfortunately, there were quite a few downsides that made our stay less than enjoyable. The staff member we interacted with was surprisingly rude and unhelpful, which set a negative tone right off the bat. The layout of the park offers zero privacy--the office is located in the center, and all the sites circle around it like spokes on a wheel. We were placed right at the entrance, next to the dumpster and the dog post, where people regularly dropped off their dog waste. Not exactly the most relaxing spot. The park is very small, with no fire pits, no river access, and little to do onsite. If you're hoping for a scenic or peaceful camping experience, this isn't the place. One of the biggest issues, though, was the freight train that passes by multiple times every night. It's incredibly loud and woke me up every single time. The other side of the park runs along a busy highway, which adds even more noise. I really wish I had taken the time to read more reviews before booking--we definitely won't be returning. The train alone is a dealbreaker.

I would have given the park itself Five Stars if not for the poor customer service we received. The…read morepark is beautiful, well maintained and convenient to the highway without having the highway noise. Check-in was quick and simple as they told me were the last reservation they had for that day. We went to our site and after more than an hour of diagnosis I determined the power pedestal had a bad ground. I called two different numbers found on the website to request a different site and the calls went to voicemail. I left a message and walked to the front desk with the same request. They had gone home for the day. I found a different number on the front door and called that number and the person that answered informed me it was an answering service. I told them the problem and they said they would call maintenance. The temperature at that time was 92 degrees and my coach was getting quite hot inside. I informed them I was moving to a different site and they said I couldn't do so because someone may have that site reserved. I told her I was moving anyway. I had already been told I was the last to arrive that day. I later received a text message informing me that maintenance was not coming and it was okay to move, however in the future I shouldn't move without permission. Never once in any of these exchanges did anyone apologize for the failure on their part. That's why I rated the customer service so poorly.

My husband is now bleeding all over his arm and wrist. His wrist is now sprained because of the fall and his shoe has a hole in it where the dog had grabbed him. He went straight to the office who immediately said they were NOT responsible. My daughter is an Attorney and dissagrees. They WILL have to deal with it one way or another. This place is a dive in a bad location with homeless everywhere and now this. At least we met some nice people from. Yakima who were very nice and fun to talk to. ​We will try to focus on that. A police report has been filed!
