Excellent place to have a bra correctly fitted. Personalized service. The ladies know their job and have so many sizes. You tell them your bra size they bring bras into the changing rooms for you. They help you fit it correctly then they suggest size or cup size adjustments that would fit perfectly. This is the service a lady received years ago when buying bras. When you park on the street it looks dark and closed, check the hours and try the door. Outside look is deceiving. I found my favorite Foxcroft brand shirts there. Lots of bathing suits, underwear and more. Such good service read more

Bras seem overpriced but Ruth's has great service and can modify both new purchases as well as previous purchases. I believe the employees are only paid minimum wage even after being employed there over 10 years!!! And---that's just not right!!!!! People cannot live on that! read more

My size has changed over the years, and local department stores no longer provide fitters of any sort, so I decided to return to Ruth's in the hopes of getting a proper fit. I had been there years before and although I had been warned prior to my visit that the ladies there were 'mean' (they weren't mean, simply abrupt and curt), I got a good fit. So I returned a few weeks ago and was met with palpable curtness but got a decent fit. I left with a purchase of close to $200. I especially liked one style and called to see if they had more in stock. They did not so I had the tag and gave her the item number to reorder. The two came in last week so I went to pick them up. Once home, I discovered these bras were completely different from what I ordered. Even the item number was different. I returned the next day to return them. I was met with the same woman who had serviced me before. In short, she argued with me, insisted these bras were identical to the ones I had purchased prior. Finally the owner came up front. She was only a few feet away so I'm quite certain she heard what was occurring. But I had to repeat what happened again. The other woman smacked down the tag I had given her off the bra I had purchased a few weeks back (proof of her mistake), and stalked off, not to be seen again. The owner did a credit card refund though I paid for the bras in cash. She was pleasant enough but took no responsibility. I won't return. Bras are expensive as is without being treated poorly. Why the owner continues to keep that employee is beyond me. Ruth's reputation of nastiness has preceded this business for decades. It's really true. read more

When I go home, I spend more money than I probably should. Oh, how I love Oregon and how they spit in the face of sales tax. So on my recent journey home, I stopped at Ruth's Foundations to get fitted and buy some new undergarments. The ladies were all very nice, and the woman who helped me was quick to bring me new styles and sizes to test. They have swimsuits, robes, nightgowns, etc in addition to bras and the like. They also have a sewing machine right there to make any alterations needed - if you need an extra hook & eye sewn on, or a little extra padding, they'll do it for cheap. It's way up in the Southtowne Shoppes, which isn't the closest when you live a few blocks from Sheldon, but it was worth a visit. read more

Went to Ruths today. Found a bra I loved, but didn't want to spend an arm or a leg so my fitter found a reasonable alternative. She then proceeded to alter the two bras so they fit more comfortably. I have always loved this place and wish we had more stores that catered to women's needs. I am from the SF Bay area and we could use a Ruths. Business 101... I was in the shop a week before dropping off 4 items to be altered. I wanted to make sure that the items would have enough time to be done before I was to leave on vacation. I have recently had a full mastectomy and needed to have pockets sewn into 3 bras and a bathing suit. I was waiting for prosthetics before I could have the alterations done. The seamstress assured me that she could have it done by Thursday if I dropped them off on Tuesday. And so I did. When I dropped them off, she assured me it would be done in time and would give me a call. No phone call, so I arrived on Friday to pick up my items (giving them an extra day). They were sitting at the bottom of the 'to complete' pile. When the gal at the counter went back to chat with the seamstress, the seamstress said she'd get to it when she could. When reminded of the situation, the assurance of completion and the fact I was going on vacation, she responded with, It won't be done today and I'll do it when I do it. The worst part was, I could hear the whole conversation! I was stuck, it was 3:00 in the afternoon, the day before departure! I got to my car and called Natalia's Alterations in 5th Street. Told them my story. They told me to bring them in and they would do it. I grabbed my stuff and went directly there. Not only did Natalia's alter my items perfectly, and have it done in two hours, but they were going to charge me $10 less than Ruth's. I paid them the extra $10 for doing the emergency and being so kind! I have told my story to everyone I know. I have also referred people to Natalia's. You may be good at what you do, but if you do not treat your customers nicely (call them if you cannot keep the schedule, so they have time to find another), then you should not be in business. Worst experience ever! Do not go to this store! I am a soon to be bride looking for something to wear under my wedding dress. As soon as we walked in all we got were glares. An older lady proceeded to shove in my face that I was a bigger size.. she laughed at us when I said I wasn't that size. She was so sarcastic and rude. I regret buying what I bought! read more

Was feeling hesitant that Ruth's could help given my bust size and needs versus what I was finding on the internet. When I walked in and told the sales lady my size (H cup), she immediately went and gathered several bras in/around my size in the style I needed. Once in the dressing room she assisted with putting on, as the styles were longline/bustier and difficult to try on by oneself. Once I tried on the 4th, I found the one I needed for my wedding gown. It fit well for a strapless (at my size) and was actually comfortable. It needed a slight alteration at the bottom, which she did right there in the store. The price was even $2 less than a style I had found on Amazon (that didn't fit). A big stress regarding my wedding was relieved after going to Ruth's. read more

The people were nice, but the fitting didn't go so well. I was given several sizes, none of them quite right. Then the person helping me with the fitting seemed to just lose interest with it. In the end, the best fit she could come up with was a bra with these issues: the cups wrinkle, the center of the underwire is not flush with my breastbone, and the underwire cuts into my armpit. I don't think that's a proper fit. I guess I was expecting more. read more

My bras came to $246, spendy, but comfortable. Originally, Norma was going to drop them off, but then, since I realized that my apartment is a bit hard to find, as the street addresses aren't clearly marked in my apartment complex (Willakenzie Crossing Apartment Homes), my American mom and I decided we would pick them up instead. This time, the women there didn't call me any bad names, they just hand delivered my bras in a bag, I went ahead and took them home, washed them in the washing machine, and dried them in the dryer. They fit perfectly! Though I thought the grey ones were going to be a different style, they're all the same, both the white and the grey. I think the other bras I like are from Warner's. I only have one of those ones now, since the others wore thin. Now I have eight Anita bras. A total of nine bras seems like plenty for me. I wonder if Ruth's might have the pajamas I'm looking for. I've been looking for a 2X size of Jaclyn's Intimates Super soft stretchy spandex long sleeve pajamas. Preferably in blue. read more

I was not pleased with how staff demanded to know and select my size, and the owner pointedly stared at my breasts as I was perusing the selection. I was straight up manipulated by one women who said if I "couldn't say" my size I should just 'write it down' instead of attempting to understand my concern at all. She stared beside me and didn't seem to care that I'd been basically harassed for revealing my size at other stores. I did speak to her again and she seemed interested in repairing the interaction. It seems like enough boutiques for women's underwear in Eugene are like this, unable to understand that some women aren't comfortable sharing their information and also can't just buy something effective online or go to a department store, which really does not have a wide selection of sizes or styles for petite-boned and full figured women. In my opinion they're not providing an individualized or very caring service at Ruth's. It's impersonal. A women's underwear store should be willing to accommodate a desire for more privacy, and if a specialty boutique for such a sensitive product can't provide complete discretion and privacy I'm not sure what they CAN do. read more

Not great selection for 30 somethings (my wife). The ladies were nice enough, but measured incorrectly. Anyone who says you take the band measurement and just add 4 inches to it to get your cup measurement is just being lazy and isn't going to help you get a bra that fits you correctly. read more

I love this store so much! A few years ago I decided to finally get bras that fit me properly, and the ladies were so helpful. I left wearing a significantly different size than I'd been squeezing my bosoms into previously, and [not surprisingly] it made kind of a huge difference in my daily comfort level. Last weekend, I went back to Ruth's to find out what size I am now (I've lost 36 pounds) and get new bras. Again, they were super helpful and I left thrilled with my purchases. I have shopped at Ruth's Foundations several times, and they have taken very good care of me. I am a rare size (30D or so), and while they don't stock very many bras in my size, they're willing to order whatever I want with no obligation to buy! Their prices are better than the major bra websites, too. The ladies are wonderful, very sweet, and tolerant of my 2 year old boy running around the shop. They also do excellent alterations, for free, while you wait! This kind of service is hard to find. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Normally I have to special order bras as I have a rare size. I'm used to paying $105 for an ugly bra. Well now I'm breast feeding and have gained several cup sizes yet remain very small in the rib cage. To my amazement they had cute nursing bras in my rare size in stock and I paid significantly less than what I am used to paying. I will continue to shop here even after I'm done nursing. They truly know what they are doing and their customer service was superb! read more

Worst shopping experience ever! First, I was treated rudely the moment I stepped in the door. I had been having a hard time finding a certain type of bra and since I saw the good reviews about this place, I thought I would try it out. I can see now that the 'good' reviews were obviously fake ones. The older lady that helped me acted like I was intruding on her precious time, even though no one else was in the store. I asked her for a certain style and she said she had it. My mistake was believing her, because when I got home and looked it up, it wasn't what I had asked for, at all. She out and out LIED to me! The worst part was when I washed the bra (on gentle), the side underwires popped out. I called the store and was told there are no returns! She offer to repair it for a charge! ugh! I felt so ripped off! You can buy the same bras online at Amazon or Just My Size. And they honor returns. My advice? Avoid this place and the grumpy owner at all costs! read more

I have been blessed/cursed with a large bust & was resigned to wearing uncomfortable ill fitting bras I bought online. My friend told me about Ruth's after buying her maternity bras here. I immediately felt comfortable with the woman who measured me and gave me my true size. At 61, this was the first time I had ever been fitted for a bra. She chose 4 styles, 2 of which fit me beautifully. Yesterday I went back for a second time looking for a strapless bra for my summer tops. Despite the challenge of finding one to fit my large bust the sales lady rose to the challenge. She found a bra in a size smaller than my normal & added an extender to make it fit my frame. Ruth's has a good selection(including pretty & sexy) & prices no more expensive than Macy's. I even bought a swimsuit yesterday. I won't go anywhere else for my bras! read more

I have never had a more uncomfortable experience bra shopping than when I went to this store. I had been looking for a smaller band size that is not usually offered in department stores, so I found this place through a Google search and thought I would give it a try. To start off, all of the bras looked like something my great-grandma would wear, but I decided to see if they had any in the size I was looking for anyway. There were only a few bras in my size and I had decided I would try two of them on even though they were kind of "meh" looking. The lady working there took me back to the dressing rooms and then started giving me other bras in my size to try on, even though I told her I only came to look for my specific size. She then kept poking her head in the dressing room while I was trying on bras and giving me incorrect information about how a bra should fit. She told me that because I was using the loosest hook, I should go up a band size. Um, no. You're supposed to use the loosest hook when you first buy a bra, that way you can adjust it as it stretches out over time. She kept insisting my band was too tight when it wasn't (I could comfortably put two fingers between it and my back) and kept giving me bras with looser bands. Despite me telling her that I was comfortable with the smaller band size and did not want to go up, she kept trying to convince me. I know what size I am and I know how a bra should fit and I found it extremely rude that she kept insisting on putting me in a bra that was the wrong size after I kept telling her they wouldn't fit. However, that wasn't even the worst part of my experience. After I left and had started walking towards my bus stop, another lady working at the store started yelling and running towards me. I turned around with a confused look on my face and she then said "I don't mean to be rude, but you didn't leave any bras in the dressing room." Um, yeah, that's cause I try to be a polite shopper and put things back where I found them after I try them on. I couldn't believe was accusing me of stealing a bra that I didn't even like! I told her that I hung it back up on the rack where I found it and if she didn't believe me, she could check my bag (although it was pretty obvious I wasn't smuggling a bra with me). She then tried to explain how they have had problems with people stealing in the past. I seriously can't imagine why because all of their bras are really ugly. I can guarantee you if someone my age were to steal a bra, it would not be from this store. Overall, this was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this store to anyone. The two ladies working there are rude, uptight and do not know what customer service is. They also seem to use the traditional "add four" sizing when finding your bra size, which is really archaic and incorrect. After this store, I went to Freudian Slip downtown (which is where I should have went to begin with) and the lady working there was really friendly and helpful and found me a cute bra in my size within five minutes of walking in. read more

I've been going to Ruth's for sometime now, ever since I started wearing a nursing bra 7 months ago. No one carries the custom sizes they do...like 32DD and 32DDD. I felt compelled to write a review today because I had another cool experience with them. I didn't realize they are closed on Monday but the woman let me come in and she fit me. I needed a new nursing bra bad (since my buppies have shrunk 1 cup size finally) and had driven 1hr to get there, but I didn't even explain any of that...she just let me in =) They will also sew/adjust any bra you buy right on the spot. I went there a week or so ago because the bras I'd purchased there at least a couple of years ago had become uncomfortably binding and I figured it was time for new ones. Instead, they suggested sewing in a cotton lining around the edges to reduce the chafing, which they did for me at no charge. It worked wonderfully! Wow, talking about stellar service. Instead of just SELLING me what I thought I needed, they GAVE me what I really needed. I'm now a customer for life there! read more

I have a hard to fit bra size and spent days trying on dozens of bras. Then I looked online. If they had my size it was expensive and was always one of the sizes that did not qualify for free returns. A few minutes in Ruth's was all I needed. The sales associate knew exactly what I needed from my description and the second bra I tried fit better than any I have ever worn. If not, they can extend or decrease the width, extend or decrease the strap, reduce the width after you have worn it for a few years and it has stretched out, and reinforce the underwire if it pokes out all FREE OF CHARGE! The price was very reasonable, anyway, and the free adjustments will extend the life of the bra. Plus, they keep a record for you so they can tell you what you purchased and any alterations, if needed, for next time. Thanks! I never need to try on dozens of bras again! read more

I took my elderly Mother who recently had a mastectomy, to have a fitting for a prosthetic and bra. The staff made it very clear that her state insurance was quite a hassle, and she would have to wait for several weeks to find out if the prosthetic would be covered, even though I had called the insurance and was assured that Ruth's was a participating business. My Mother needed this service and if it really would not be covered my family would be sure to buy what was needed. But not at Ruth's. We went to another business in town and she was fitted and was able to wear a bra and prosthetic home that day. Never again will the women in my family do business with Ruth's, very disappointed. read more

Ruth's Foundations Shop is one of the all time best places to go for bras, and to be professionally fitted for a bra. They have a wide selection of sizes from A cup to J cup, and they can do sewing alterations to help you get the best fit. Their color selection is great, as they have everything from beige, white, black, blue, red, purple, pink, flower design, lace, smooth. Lots to choose from. I am 20 years old and they have many styles to fit my taste. & I have noticed they have gals from 9 to 90 buying bras from them, so they have styles for every age, size, and flavor. They have nursing bras as well. Bras are just the beginning of it... they have so many other things in this wonderful shop, such as Old Friend slippers, Cuddl Duds (warm wear similar to long johns), watches, jewelry, robes, swimwear, cruise wear, cozy socks, I even found a really cute purse which I bought here a couple years ago. The owner, Norma, is so nice! All of the employees which I have dealt with have all been very friendly and knowledgeable about what they are selling.
