Came here recently and generally enjoyed my experience. First, they offered valet parking, but there were actually a bunch of spots available nearby that weren't reserved and didn't require a valet. Since I usually like parking my car myself, this was a bonus for me :) Anyway, we walked in for a pretty early dinner and it wasn't super busy, which was great. The staff were polite and nice throughout our experience at Ruth's Chris, and the vibes were definitely peaceful, with relaxing lighting and the tables spread reasonably far apart. Our table was located upstairs (like most of the other seating, I think!), and we followed our hostess to a table in the corner. So far, so good! Our server was really nice but she did make a couple of mistakes throughout our meal. She brought the wrong wine for my wife and, at least initially, it felt like I was waiting around for a long time for her to come take our order, bring our table the beer menu, etc. Speaking of which, it's a little strange to me that there's nothing on draft at this location, but not a huge deal :) We were brought bread and butter almost immediately, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the bread was only lukewarm, so that was a little disappointing. My wife and I ended up each getting the Ruth's Classic three course meal. I ordered the seafood gumbo, 8 oz petite filet (with truffle crust!) with fresh broccoli, and the carrot cake a la mode. The seafood gumbo was a little underwhelming for me. There wasn't really enough substance to it, and the taste was only OK. My steak was medium rare, as requested, and was very good! I liked the truffle crust and will probably do it again sometime :) The broccoli was also really fresh. My carrot cake a la mode was a great ending to the meal, and I actually appreciated how small it was, since I was getting kind of stuffed! It was more like a carrot cupcake than a slice of carrot cake. I guess I would recommend they be more upfront about the size of it on the menu, but as I said, it was a plus for me :) My wife also really enjoyed her Caesar salad and stuffed chicken breast (I sampled the chicken and liked it too!). In general, we had a good experience here. I'm excited to try other local steakhouses so I'm not sure I'll be back here for a while, but I can definitely imagine hosting a family gathering or work event here and it being successful. I've never been to a steakhouse like this before and I had such a great experience! Came as a late birthday dinner with family and got the filet steak, with a side of cream spinach, au gratin potatoes and the lobster Mac and cheese. The sides are quite big, perfect for sharing with everyone. And we got a free dessert of choice since we were celebrating so I got the cheesecake to go. Everything was so good. I remember it was the holiday season and it is also always nicely decorated and festive. There is always ambient music playing, there service is outstanding and the food is always delicious. I recently dined here with my mom for a special occasion and it was an outstanding meal. We had the menu where you pick a salad, entree and dessert. I had the lettuce wedge salad with blue cheese and petite filet and everything was cooked and served to perfection. The desserts - wow- we had a creme brulee and the bread pudding- out of this world! *Updated review* Cannot say enough how this is hands down the best steakhouse in the entire Raleigh area. We've been to so many other steakhouses and the ambience is usually great but ends there. That's what you get for your money. We had a reservation at another new steakhouse that didn't have a wow factor the 1st time we went and decided to switch to our favorite. So glad we did! Service from being seated to waitstaff and even a manager checking in is always impeccable. It doesn't get better than this. We started with shrimp cocktail which were huge! Lucky night for us. We also both ordered steak. My husband a ribeye and me a filet done Chesapeake style. Both cooked exactly how we asked and you have to love the sizzling hot plates. We ordered sides of Brussels and Au gratin potatoes. We decided these were the best we've ever had, home or at a restaurant! It was my first time to visit a Ruth's Chris and let me tell you set your expectations. It's basically a high end Applebee's but by the way people have talked about it for years I was expecting something more. Like NYC dining or close to it. We arrived for our reservation and the hostess was rather curt and uninviting. Your hostess is the face of the restaurant and no matter if it's busy or dead is the first point of contact. A cheery disposition is key! The dining room was festive and we were seated by the kitchen exit which was neither good nor bad. Our server was fine. Not great, not complaining--very vanilla. That said their disposition was more well suited for the hostess spot with a smile and warmth. The food was okay. The Lobster Bisque wasn't worth it. I'd suggest you try it at another dining location but I was most surprised by the presentation. The expo was not expoing. As you can see the soup has spilled and plates needed attention. I'd say if you are looking for an Applebees experience elevated, go, but I'd say if you want a great dining experience...keep looking. read more

This review would have been one star had it not been for Mandy. Read on to learn more. At the last minute, another couple called and asked if we wanted to go out for steak. It was about 6 pm on Sunday. I made a few quick calls, and this Ruth's Chris location was our only option for decent steak places. I set the reservation for 7:15. Our friends who are pretty close arrived on time. We were running late since it was a long drive, and we hit a lot of traffic, then construction, then a stalled car. Have you ever noticed that stuff only happens when you are trying to keep an appointment? But I digress. Our friends opted to sit at the bar while waiting for us. We arrived at about 7:40 and joined them. Within a minute or so, the hostess came over and offered to seat us (props for her attentiveness). Unfortunately, when we got to the room where our table was to be, there was nothing set up. In this room, there were probably 2 empty tables to each occupied table. But, every empty table either needed bussing or was unprepared. The hostess apologized and said she would get our table prepared immediately, and the four of us returned to the bar. After about ten minutes (about ten minutes to eight), we were still at the bar waiting for our table. We were laughing that they didn't even want to serve us. Mandy, who was behind the bar doing something, said, "You are welcome to sit in my area," and pointed to tables by the bar. We said absolutely and took a seat at one of the booths. Mandy was on the ball. We had our drink orders taken, water delivered, bread provided, and drinks brought over, all in a jiffy. THIS is what we expect of Ruth's Chris. We went from having fun and regretting our choice of restaurant to having fun and loving our choice of restaurant. In addition to Mandy, let me also call out Derrick (I hope this is the right spelling) the bartender. While our friends were waiting, the husband wanted a rather off-the-wall drink, and it required nutmeg. Derrick apologized that they did not have nutmeg, so my buddy ordered a different drink. After making his drink, Derrick left for a bit, returning with the nutmeg. He made it his mission to find it somewhere in the kitchen and make the drink for my friend. THAT is how you provide excellence to your customers. For our appetizers, we had a crabcake and seared tuna that we all shared. The tuna was excellent, but the crabcake was stellar. I'm not one to really like crabcake, but this one hit the jackpot. I'm going to get it again on our next visit. For my meal, I had the 16 oz ribeye, and it was perfect. Tender, flavorful, cooked just right. My friend had a sirloin. It was very good. He liked it, and I liked all of the bites I stole out of it! My wife was not very hungry, so she had an order of 6 grilled shrimp, which she loved. I can not recall exactly what our other friend had. It was a fish dish. But I had a bite, and it rocked. My wife did the review of their 2 dishes. I was more interested in paying attention to the eating :) My friend and I also got a flight of rye and a flight of scotch. Both were great, except for the Speyside serving, which I don't like. But, I'm not faulting anyone for that, I ordered a flight, and i got a flight, and it was good stuff. For dessert, Mandy cooked us up a couple of Bananas Foster. I don't think they lasted more than a few minutes once they were placed on the table! We also requested "a barn-burning-sized flame." We didn't quite get that since nothing burned down, but we got a nice flame. Again, Mandy knows how to make customers happy. We ended our dinner on a high note because of Mandy. To summarize: Even 35 minutes after our reservation time in a mostly empty restaurant, they still couldn't provide us with a table. We were ready to leave, but Mandy saved the day. We went with friends. We loved the ambiance and the service! The food in my opinion was good but not great. For two people our bill was over $200 with 1 martini espresso that cost $18. I just think it's overpriced. The serving sizes were small. We ordered a 6oz fillet and shrimp. It came with 2 shrimp on top.. my steak and shrimp were both cooked good I got a side of wild rice. I just thought that was so so and my husband got the creamed spinach which I also thought was so so. For dessert we ordered the chocolate Sin cake and I got the cheesecake. Both were good. We have been to this location a dozen times and always enjoy consistency in the quality and service. We celebrated early Valentine's last night, and had the most amazing dinner. Started with the blueberry mojito - fresh muddled blueberries - yum! For dinner we did the Ruth's Classic, which is by far the best deal around! I had the steakhouse salad with avocado ranch (highly recommend that dressing), 6oz filet (tender and cooked to perfection), creamed spinach, and a mini cheesecake (amazing). We ordered the tomahawk steak, plus two additional steaks, an appetizer, and two sides. While the wait staff were great and attentive with drink refills and other needs, the steaks were not cooked well at all. I've never had steak cooked so poorly at a Ruth's Chris before. It's disappointing because I know the quality this chain usually delivers, but this location didn't meet those expectations. We scheduled our anniversary dinner here as Ruth Chris was where we went on our wedding night for a small dinner after the main ceremony (Raleigh location). We have visited them each year for 5 years. We made an early reservation time as roads and restaurants are busy during the holidays. We checked in and waited only a few minutes before being seated. Each and every person that came to our table made it a point to wish us a Happy Anniversary. Our waitress staff was amazing. They kept our drinks full and paid great attention to our table. We give the salads and soups 10/10. We give our desserts of apple crumb and cheesecake 10/10. We give our steaks 8/10 as we both asked for Med Well and they were Well with solid chars as you can see in the pictures. We will ask for Medium next time to ensure we get Med Well. My husband has always been a big fan of Ruth's Chris Steak House. He loves the food, so when we have something special to celebrate we usually go to Ruth's. The last couple of times we have been to Ruth's in Cary it hasn't been very special. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. My husband dropped me off at the door while he looked for a parking space. The valet did not open the door for me. Not a big deal, but not great. I walked up to the hostess stand to check in and one of the hostesses was busy playing with her phone. Another hostess, after she sat us threw rose petals on the table. Not a big deal, but thought that maybe should have been done before we came to the table. We ordered dirty martinis. They were not- so we told our server. He came back and remixed our martinis with some extra brine. Again- not that big of a deal- but when you are paying quite a bit for a cocktail - when it comes out wrong shouldn't you get a new cocktail? We ordered the lobster bisque to split. It came out in one bowl so we had to hover over the table to share. We weren't even half way through the soup (which was delicious!!) when our entrees came out. Horrible timing on the server's part. The steaks and the au gratin potatoes were super! The brussel sprouts were ok. Probably will not order them again. Our server offered us a dessert. We were told when we made our reservations that we would get a free dessert for our anniversary. That did not happen. When we finished our dinner our server and many others passed our table several times without offering to clear the plates. Had a wonderful dinner for my birthday and Kyle was our waiter and did an amazing job! The only issue was as we were winding down a party of 6, including 2 small children were sat near our table. The issue was the child proceeded to scream multiple times during the meal. In my opinion the staff or management should be asking the parent to get their child to stop screaming or they should leave. Paying $200 plus to listen and deal with that nonsense is complete ridiculousness. read more

The service was good at Ruth's Chis on a Saturday evening. I ordered the 16oz rib eye, I also ordered the crab fried rice, and calamari for the table. My ribeye and the calamari were delicious. I enjoyed it. I also had the opportunity to try the sweet potato souffle and the Brussels sprouts and both were delicious. The calamari was very flavorful and had the right amount of crispiness. I wasn't a fan of the crab-fried rice. I would have liked more crab meat and seafood flavor in this dish. The ambiance was nice. The lighting was good and the decor was pleasing to my eyes. It was a spur of the moment when a couple of our friends called us to go out for a steak dinner on a Sunday at 6 PM. The only place that was available to take us in was Ruth's Chris in Cary. Our friends sat in the bar area while waiting for my husband and I. We were running late since it was a good drive for us. Our table was never ready so we sat in the bar area where we got such good service from the bartender and Mandy. The entrance and the dining area are beautiful. The bar area's modern and have a more casual vibe. I had 2 kinds of margarita, mango and strawberry. The strawberry's awesome. All the food's great as usual. Christmas Eve Dinner At the last minute our family decided to go out for Christmas Eve dinner and Ruth's Chris did not disappoint! Surrounding: The ambience was wonderful with Christmas decorations and music playing throughout. The restaurant was busy and after about 5 minutes we where seated for our reservation. They where accommodating to our request for a booth with our children and provided crayons, coloring paper, and a small craft kit. This was great to keep the children entertained. Food & Drink: We enjoyed a martini and an old fashioned ($18 is to steep for the old fashioned I might add) which where delicious. The martini was made table wide by the waiter. The kids meals where a hit. It included a small steak with French fries. The steaks where cooked perfectly and so where the french fries. The waiter was conscious of our family members allergy and assured us everything will be done appropriately. The children devoured there steaks and asked if we could come here more often! The adults ordered lobster bisque, filet mignon, creamed spinach, and baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly and the steaks tasted better than Nana steak or Sullivans. We opted for the blue cheese crust and it was something that we will definitely get again. The baked potato was large and we split it between 2 adults. It came with little dishes of cheese, sour cream, and bacon. The desert we ordered was the bread pudding and it was the one part of the meal that left us disappointed. Food: 2 stars - meh. Steaks came out hot. Mine was tough and my husband's was undercooked. Lobster tails were small. Onion rings were huge and crispy but flavorless. Service: 5 stars - had the best server I think I've ever had. Scott made a "so-so" meal enjoyable. He was very attentive and we enjoyed talking with him. If it were not for Scott the meal would have been highly disappointing! Especially for the price tag. The manager replaced my husband's way undercooked steak and apologized, but it was Scott that made the difference. There was an overpowering smell of burnt butter but I guess with the steaks coming out on searing hot plates with butter that's to be expected. Overall I'm glad we went for my birthday, mainly due to the service, but for the cost and food I don't know that I will go back. - I asked for my birthday dessert to be packaged up to take home instead of eating in the restaurant. Always enjoy Ruth's Chris but have noticed that the filets have gotten significantly smaller in size & used to be bacon wrapped (maybe they still can be?). As per usual I needed to send back to not be so rare. The potatoes are usually very good but these tasted like instant ones, rather watery, spinach was ok but we asked for bread twice & never got it. I like their bread! Service just wasn't really the best the night we visited & several other diners noted the same. Service is generally top notch, maybe an off night for staff. We were looking for a last minute reservation on a Friday night for a steakhouse. Ruth Chris had plenty of openings so decided to try. So glad we did. As we arrived, they did have complimentary valet but there were plenty of spaces in the parking lot so opted for that. Cute dining room and loved the ceilings. Our server Robert was on top of things-quick to recommend items, never waited more than a minute for a refill and just had a great personality. Surprised by some of the reviews on the food here. We opted for filets, ny strips, mashed potatoes, zucchini sticks and a few of the deserts. Everything was amazing! Steaks were cooked perfectly, sides were hot and my Caesar salad was one of the best I've had in some time. The peanut butter dessert and cheesecake were good as well. First appearing on their menu late last year was this wonderful Osso Buco ravioli, and if you are savvy enough to order it, you have a WINNER! The Osso Buco stuffed ravioli was loaded with tender meat, and the sauce is simply scrumptious. Plus you get your greens with the accompanying spinach. I had a craving for a Black and Blue filet so finally gave in and went to the one place I'd have sworn would know how to cook one. Before I write anymore, I simply mean it was not black and crispy on the outside nor blue on the inside, but it was extremely tasty! Served with sizzling butter sauce on an extremely hot plate was the reason for the flavor, plus come on, the wonderful quality of the steak! I was in early, so it may be the grill top didn't have time to heat as high as it needed to be yet. I'm used to a blackened outside, with a raw/rare center. Their bar menu has a ton of rightly priced food and drinks! My go to aperitif is the strawberry drip martini. It really makes you feel like you're on the set of Sex in the City! It is so good! I highly recommend! My husband and a friend of his eat there a few weeks ago. I don't eat dairy and ordered a lemon basil dressing on my salad. When it was brought to the table, the dressing was white. I thought it was a vinaigrette, but it was not. I asked if it had dairy in it. I was told no. I asked the second person if it had dairy in it and they also told me no. I am unsure where to begin. Starting with the wine, it was old and the server never even sampled it to check for aging before pouring two glasses and walking away. In short, the filet was over cooked, dry, and a bad cut. I eat Ruth Chris for fast food so I have had my fair share of this food. Last, we sat at the table for 10 min with my napkin strategically placed on top of my plate to make a point that I was done. Eventually, I had to wave over the manager to get him to box of food up and get us some coffee with Baileys. Second time we've eaten there and it is fantastic. Service (Clarke) was great. Food, as usual, fantastic. I had the prix fixe, caesar, sirloin, broccli and cheesecake, suptuous. Ruth's Chris is always solid, and it's a great place to go with an expense account. I went to this Ruth's Chris for a company meal. We ate early, and service was very attentive and fast. They have a good cocktail list and also a good list of wines by the glass. I had an excellent Justin cab. My colleague had a Moscow mule, and he said it was strong and really good. We shared the calamari to start. It was crispy but maybe a little underseasoned. I had the wedge salad and the petite ribeye. The wedge salad was excellent, a perfect blend of salty cheese and bacon and crisp iceberg lettuce. The ribeye was so good. Perfectly seasoned, cooked to an exact medium rare, and tender enough to cut with a butter knife. At 12 oz, it wasn't really petite, but you can't really have a smaller ribeye. I ended up taking half home for the best breakfast the next morning. I could cut it with the hotel plastic knife, it was that tender. We shared the cheesecake for dessert. It was decadent and huge, definitely big enough to share with the table. read more

At the bar we had the option of ordering off main dining menu and the bar dining menu. Our table was ordered from both and the food was good. One of our guests who is a college student was asked to remove his hat upon seating. I appreciated that attention to detail and it was certainly handled in the correct manner. I stopped in for happy hour and dinner. Sure, it's a chain. But unless we are in Texas, a good steakhouse is hard to come by anymore. So is a good happy hour at one. But look no further, this chain answers the unmet need. This location is one of the newest and nicest in the Ruth's chain. The staff were amazing. I was waited on by Jennifer at the bar. The bar menu you has a number of food and drink options that are easy on the wallet. I highly recommend the ahi and the chicken sandwich. The wine on happy hour was tasty and low calorie. The beer selection is awful but it's North Carolina, so it's to be expected. The next time you are looking for a nice happy hour or a good steak, consider this Ruth's Chris. We been dining at various Ruth's Chris locations since 2019. This time it's for my birthday! We decided to travel to Cary, NC. We were greeted right away and seated on our reservation time. Our server was Taylor and she was awesome. There were fresh rose petals placed on the table (I assumed for my birthday) and my birthday was acknowledged by the lady who seated us. Went here with a couple family members as a special treat to myself yesterday. The server was a young lady and she was awesome. We went at 5 and there was no table available for 3 but the server pulled a reserved table apart and said since it's just the three of us, we could eat before the reservation comes. This was such a thoughtful gesture. The server was on point the entire time. Everything came quickly and was delicious. I always expect the food to be top tier here and it does not disappoint. I had the Ruth's classic which I think is a good deal. I ordered the steak entree with the mashed potatoes and a salad. The salad was large and the steak was the perfect size! I also ordered the crab beignets and those were very tasty as well. I'm still trying to calculate the value of the app and the price at $22 but I don't think it's a bad value. We ate at the bar area which still had a good ambiance. Now to explain why it's 4 stars and not 5. They don't allow you to split bills there. Our server was going to ask for manager approval but we told her not too worry about it. But I understand this rule for large parties but I'm not quite getting it for smaller groups. It's not that hard to split the bill two ways. One final critique is that the drinks from the bar weren't that great. It was a margarita and all I tasted was lime although the flavors were supposed to be mango and hibiscus. However I received a little simple syrup and it tasted good afterwards.
