Had lunch (Beef Pad Thai) yesterday at Rutherford Thai, since it had been a while. They never disappoint - food tastes great (served quickly and hot), service was pretty good, and the ambiance is nice (would be able to meet with someone and hear what they are saying). The two things that could be improved on: 1) it is hard to find a place to park and 2) the steps are a little deep and they don't have a hand rail. read more

Wowzers! We first tried Rutherford Thai before the pandemic. Unfortunately it's taken us several years to go back and I'm so glad we did! We started with appetizers - the spring rolls were hot, fresh, and crispy and the sauce was delightful. The Curry Puffs - delicious, a sweet/savory combo that left us wanting more. The Yum Nua - had a spicy lime dressing, nice kick of heat and just an explosion of flavors on your taste buds. We got the chicken Pad Thai as the main and again, delightfully delicious. We went on a Saturday about 5, the place was busy and buzzing and the servers were working quickly, our food came out quick, hot and with a smile. You can tell the family takes pride in their presentation, flavors and overall service - we cant wait to go back and try more! read more

Found a gem of a place here a couple years ago. Food was great, great service, nice serving size and great prices. I don't know what's happened the last couple months, but the food quality and serving size has drastically changed. I got a ginger stirfry to go a couple months ago and there was not much ginger in it, unlike when I've gotten it before. Tonight I got the garlic stirfry and I could not taste any garlic, plus my veggies were pretty raw and serving size was about 1/2 to 2/3 the regular size. My wife ordered the Massa Curry and received the red spocy one instead. We weren't aware until we got them home. It doesn't seem to be up to the same standards as before. Again tried to order for pick up. Lady does not understand English, there is no online menu, and they did not want to spend time on the phone giving me pricing. Small place but big on flavor. Like the legit purple sticky rice and mango. Good balance of sweet spicy sour bitter and salty. Would like to see more chili peppers, less bell pepper. Curry is good. And try the Thai tea. read more

nothing special like the raves I have read. a small cozy place with maybe ten tables. ambience is very simple...no big deal. Service was very good. The wonton soup came out very hot which was nice. The wontons were very small with not much flavor. I had the shrimp dish with rice. I wasn't aware it contained fruit(apple and pineapple) and cashew nuts. The shrimp was excellent. I don't like having to peel off the tails. it was on a bed of mushy fried rice. it was an ample portion. I had a side order of fried rice. Again, it was mushy and lacked flavor. Had to add a lot of soy sauce to make it palatable. The menu is very limited. I don't believe I would go back. read more

Very average food, not bad and not great... just OK. If you know real Thai (Yes... I know the people are Thai.), the freshness and flavors are amazing. Our garden rolls had obviously been made ahead and sat drying out. My chicken Pad Thai (the most basic of Thai dishes) was just alright. The noodles were way over done. Again, some places make the day's noodles ahead and then quickly warm them up for an ordered dish. The duck roll was tasteless. I can not swear there was any duck. The sauce over the duck was so strong it hid any flavor there might have been. Also, the prices are no bargain. Bottom line: there isn't another place around the corner, so suck it up and find the dishes that work for you. Good luck! read more

This was my first time ever trying Thai food and everything on the plate was so incredibly delicious and intricately designed! I walked inside and it was very cute and well decorated. I had placed an online order and it was ready when I got there. The girls working there were super nice. Mediocre at best. I know Rutherford County is begging for new food choices but how are there so many 5 star reviews? When you come in the door there's no greeter and evidently you're expected to seat yourself. We watched as multiple guests were as confused as we were. As we wait for service we notice there's only two people so I tried not to get impatient, everywhere is having problems with staffing. Apps were Tom Kha soup and Spring rolls. Not much to say here. Soup lacked "pop", spring rolls were passable... My wife got the drunken noodles and I highly discourage ordering them. This isn't our first Thai experience and I don't expect every drunken noodle to taste the same but this was...off. I ordered the red curry, which was the highlight of this experience. It had flavor and texture that you could expect from a good Thai restaurant. Ordered a side of noodles for our baby (side note this place is NOT kid friendly. No high chairs or boosters) and it was literally noodles with no sauce. Nothing for flavor. I suppose you have to ask for your noodles to taste like something. Not much ambiance for a $60+ trip into town. Next time we will drive a little farther. read more

New owners as I did not recognize anyone from the numerous times we've eaten there. Tom Yam soup taste different. Still good but not as good. Service was crazy as the lady in charge looked stressed about everything! Younger gal did a good job trying to counter her energy. Basil rice was just ok. I had the seafood Pad See Ew and when I ordered the seafood one, the lady in charge looked at me like I was crazy. I had to reassure her it was what I was wanting before she finally scribbled it down. In the end it was good, but not as good as before. In town doing some errands when we saw this quaint and small Thai Restaurant. We've heard lots of good things about this place so the wife was ready to give it a try. We parked next the restaurant (literally less than 20 feet from it) and made our way in. The place is small but very well decorated. There's about 10 tables but spread apart enough where it can be an intimate dining experience. We sat at the high top tables and we took in the atmosphere. The menu had different options which is good because I had plenty of choices. The food came out after a bit but we didn't mind because it was fresh. The portions were reasonable. The food did taste well. We really liked the place and would come back to try new dishes. The girl in the front counter was pulling double duty and she did a wonderful job. The service was great. However, I drove through town and grabbed some food to go last night and it was the worst Thai food I've ever eaten. I ordered the Bangkok fried rice with steak. No flavor and it was super greasy!! I literally pour the grease out of the container to consume the food. The second dish I ordered was the Pad See Eew (soy sauce noodles). The noodles didn't have the glossy dark sweet soy glazed on them, noodles were broken down too much the dish overall didn't have much flavor at all. read more

Really enjoyed this experience! The menu was organized and diverse. Flavors were well balanced, food was fresh. Service was excellent- there was only one person to cover the whole dining room as well as to coordinate take-out orders. While we had to wait a few minutes, she acknowledged us, thanked us for waiting and was attentive after we were seated without interrupting while we enjoyed our meal. The dining room had booths along the walls and open communal tables in the center. Lighting was warm. There were a couple of TV screens broadcasting competition cooking shows which I thought was fun! Stopped in for a business lunch today. Great little local spot that served clean food in an oasis of fried stuff. Had the green curry with tofu, Thai hot. Great coconut taste but not too rich. The spice level was pretty good. Not crazy hot but def has some heat. The tofu tasted a little stale, like it had been cooked earlier and used a little past it's prime. They are open for lunch on Saturdays. Yelp shows they don't open til 4. My daughter and I met in Rutherford to ride bikes on the Thermal Belt Rail Trail. She lives in Asheville and I live in Charlotte, so good halfway point. This restaurant was a great finish to our day! The food and the service were great. This is my most favorite Thai restaurant in the south. The food is fresh and authentic. Fried rice, basil fried rice, chef's favorite shrimp fried rice are amazing. Taste like what you would get in Thailand. Curry also taste great! They put a lot of care in making their food taste as good as you can get in Thailand! Great job.
