I LOVE THIS PLACE! Best thai food around, and it's so affordable. My favorite dishes are the shrimp pad thai, tom kha, tom yum, and the summer rolls. Their thai iced tea is also so yummy. My meal is usually $20 (with drink and appetizer) and I always have leftovers. The service is fast and great. The ambiance is also very quiet and cute. 5/5 definitely recommend if you like thai food! read more

I had the best Pad Thai in my life. It was seasoned perfectly with a great hit of heat. It will be my 'go to' often. My friend had the Cashew Chicken. I will order this the next time I'm there. I have been in Kings Mountain for a while and my only regret is that I didn't go sooner. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the market has so much to offer. Truly a hidden gem! It's been very challenging to find an authentic Thai food in North Carolina and I'm really glad to find Thai Hut. I ordered the chicken satay, Tod Man pla, Pad Thai, Pad see Yew, Basil fried rice and Whole fried fish with curry sauce. All of them are delicious and they cost me only about $44! I highly recommended the fried fish with curry sauce and the chicken satay. The fish is perfectly fried and tastes well with its flavorful the curry sauce. The chicken satay is nicely seasoned and grilled with peanut sauce. I like the PadThai as well. It's hard to find one here that tastes like the original pad Thai. Most Thai restaurant in Charlotte areas cooked it too sweet abs soft. This Pad Thai is novelty cooked with perfect balance of sweetened and sourness . It filled with decent size shrimps and tofu. The only dish that is give 3 stars is the Tod Man pla. It's too salty for my taste. I'd highly recommend Thai Hut and come back here again. read more

Our family loves Thai Hut. We've been eating there religiously since we moved to Kings Mountain four years ago, and they've never done us wrong. The food is reliably delicious and well priced. I especially love that our favorite, Pad Thai, is not the red, sweet type. Service is always fast. Dine-in orders are ready quickly, and take out orders are ready in 15-20 minutes. The staff is always kind and welcoming, as well as attentive. The ambience is that of a small family ethnic food store with a dining area in one large corner. Holy Kings Mtn! Thai Hut was super legit. Definitely go here if you are looking for a no-frills-thai-in-your-face experience. We had earmarked this place for about a year to visit in conjunction with a Crowder's Mtn hike. Our plans were to do a Saturday morning hike up the mtn and then eat copious amounts of Thai food as a reward. Depending on where you park at Crowder's, Thai Hut was about a 10-15min drive after hiking. It wasn't super busy for a weekend, but it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Thai Hut also serves as a market... so you walk in and see a bunch of shelves lining the back wall and a pretty cavernous space between the front and the shelves... and then the tables are on the left. The main dining area has a pass-thru window with a bell for when the food is ready. Our server was super new... she had only been working there for a week, but she was very sweet. You could tell she wasn't too familiar with the menu yet, cause she was looking for the code numbers. We realized this and translated our order accordingly. We ended up sharing a TON of food and everything was delicious. Pad Thai (bonus fried tofu in here!), Lad-Na, Tom Yum, Tom Kha, summer rolls, thai-style Chicken Wings, Red Curry, and Massaman Curry. SOOOOOO GOOD! I need to come back here more often. It's worth the trip from Charlotte (IMO). I'm usually a Tom Yum person due to the coconut milk, but I think they've converted me to a Tom Kha cause of the fresh citrus flavor that bursts from the soup!. read more

I will eat here again but... I Chose the Thai Hut special with tofu. I requested medium heat. Spot on. Tofu was firm and small pieces but a generous amount. The overall dish was generous in size. Broccoli, pea pods, cabbage, bell pepper, onion all cooked well. There was, however, a separate taste at the bottom of the dish. I couldn't figure it out but, i don't think it was suppose to be separate but infused. The place is simple. It is a diner in a convenience store. Well marked outside. Great food again yesterday at their small restaurant and grocery store in the heart of kings mountain- I had a vegetarian dish with shrimp and husband had a beef dish and soup with spring rolls- I apologize for not recalling the details but I think all the food we have tried over the years is hot ( temperature) , good seasoning, and timely served. I read about the Laotian community in Kings mountain NC and found this authentic restaurant after we biked on the Avon Creek trail. I can only say that I wish they are closer to Charlotte. The prices of the dishes are reasonable and the taste is best in this area. The restaurant is in the same area with its oriental market. Let me start with the Tod Mun Pla. I can smell and taste the fragrance of lime. The Pad thai, Pad Kee Mau, and basil fried rice are all tasty and perfect for my taste bud. The sauce for the Pra Lad Prik was thick and flavorful. I definitely recommend this restaurant to whoever would like to taste authentic Thai foods. read more

Thai hut is literally the only place in Kings Mountain that I will spend money at. Come for me if you will but, other places in KM will struggle to put salt and pepper in their food and call it spice. Get three orders of egg rolls, three orders of chicken satay, five chilies in your order of papaya salad, a special order of sticky rice, and a few orders of phó and your friends are gonna love ! I went to Thai hut with my family of 4 for dinner one night the food was delicious and it tasted great, but I picked up the soy sauce and started pouring it and the entire cap came off, that made me kind of iffy about the place. Sanitation wise was horrible the waiter picked up a dirty rag that they already used on all the tables and he had dropped on the floor he used the same rag for all the tables. We tried getting his attention and telling him it was dirty but he had headphones in and couldn't hear us. Other than that the food was great and most of the waiters were nice. We enjoyed it. Looks like an Asian convenience store once you walk in but then becomes this hidden gem. This place really surprised me. Not only were the prices very cheap for Thai, the flavors were there. The portion size was generous and the people were nice. I got the cashew chicken and my friend got the red curry. I was disappointed that the chicken tasted deep fried and it may have had a breading to it. It was still very tasteful. My friend really enjoyed her curry. I would recommend going there! Don't judge a book by its' cover...This is one of THE BEST THAI restaurants in NC! I've been to a lot of Thai places in NC and SC. This is in my top 2. It is by far the least expensive too! I'm not sure how I haven't heard of this place before. I highly recommend ordering the Tom Yum soup, red curry and Thai tea. The crab Rangoon was delicious too! We opted for take out, but there are several tables that you could dine at. This place also conveniently has a few grocery items. Quick exchange for my takeout. The food was okay nothing special. The noodles were dry and I would have preferred some spice options like my usual Thai spots. Great portion for $5.95.
