The best thing about Alpha Omega is that is that it's very family friendly. Not many wineries welcome children and this location was very accommodating. Our children were well behaved, I kept them occupied with lots of arts and craft activities, but my child still end up knocking over a glass of wine. Our server Jokayla was so gracious with us and helped us clean up. She was also very accommodating with everyone's taste preferences and offered customized recommendations for us. This is one of the wineries that did not require an upfront charge to enter which I appreciate so much. Not everyone in our party drank. Up to 2 adults can share a $75 flight of wine. If you purchase 2 or more bottles of wine, the tasting fee is waived. The pours are also plenty so this is a great deal. I just loved their flexibility. Valet parking was free! The winery is upscale, with beautiful views of the vineyard and the water fountain if you get terrace seating. We had reservations for 10:30am and had front row at the terrace. We had a relaxing time and this is one winery I will highly recommend to families. 100% we will come back and enjoy this beautiful location and great service!

They've only been there for a year I believe, but from the outside to the inside, everything is purposely selected and placed. And the bathroom! Yes you read that right, the bathroom is impressive. Probably what stuck out to me the most was the wine glasses used for the flight tasting. These glasses are exquisite. While I don't remember the exact dollar figure, they use German glassware that was 100 a pop, and each glass was selected based on enhancing which wine was being tasted. The first glass on the left was what we started with, which was a white, and as you go toward the right you transition into the bulbous fishbowl type glassware typically used to drink reds. The flight tasting was 75 which is pricey, and their flagship red is quite expensive in my opinion. However, you like what you like and if you enjoy it then it's meant for you. This is a great place and I'll most definitely visit again when I'm back in Napa.

She was able to quickly switch gears whenever the situation called for it while still making sure we had a fun, informative, and memorable experience. We were seated on their secluded patio for our tasting, which was beautiful, but it ended up being a bit too warm for our group. Our tasting attendant didn't offer much guidance - he basically just poured each wine, said the name, and left it at that. We were hoping for more insight and storytelling to go along with our tasting, so that was a bit disappointing. When we asked if we could move inside due to the heat (and some health concerns in our group, the request wasn't accommodated right away. It actually took my fiance calling Caymus directly (who wasn't even on the trip) before they moved us into an indoor area, which they mentioned isn't typically used for tastings (the space with all the wine barrels). That's when our experience improved - a manager came out to pour our wines and check in on us, and also apologize for the trouble. From that point on, a great time was had! The vineyard itself is beautiful, and the decor inside is stunning. While our experience started off rocky, it did end on a positive note.

Jaye was hilarious, genuine and made us feel at home. She was our hostess with a beautiful spirit, knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. She allowed us to exist while ensuring all our needs were met. Sarinee did the same. Both incredible women, beautiful inside and out. Located along Highway 29 in Rutherford, Sequoia Grove Winery offers an intimate Napa Valley tasting…read moreexperience centered on Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-style wines. The winery combines a peaceful redwood-shaded setting with carefully structured wines and warm, knowledgeable hospitality. My visit was especially memorable because of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah I tasted. Both demonstrated the depth, balance, and elegance expected from quality Napa Valley reds. Having a bottle signed by the owner added a personal touch that transformed an enjoyable tasting into a lasting memory. The drive to Sequoia Grove follows Highway 29 through the heart of Napa Valley, passing vineyards and wineries as you enter Rutherford. The winery is conveniently located beside the main road, but its landscaping and tall trees give the property a much quieter and more secluded feeling once you arrive. The tasting room occupies a rustic wooden building surrounded by gardens and towering coastal redwoods. A flagstone walkway leads through ornamental grasses, shrubs, flowers, and mature trees toward the entrance. The natural wood exterior allows the building to blend comfortably into the surrounding landscape rather than appearing overly elaborate or commercial. Outdoor tastings are offered beneath the redwoods, providing a shaded and peaceful environment for enjoying wine. The gardens and patio areas create an intimate atmosphere that feels more like a private retreat than a crowded Napa Valley attraction. Well-behaved leashed dogs are permitted in the outdoor areas. Inside, the tasting room maintains the rustic character established by the wooden exterior. Exposed wood, warm lighting, comfortable furnishings, and large tasting tables create a polished yet relaxed atmosphere. The room feels refined enough for premium Cabernet Sauvignon without becoming overly formal or intimidating. Sequoia Grove offers hosted, seated tastings rather than simply lining visitors along a crowded bar. Current experiences may include standard wine flights, wines paired with small bites, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon tastings, and more elaborate chef-prepared food pairings. Tastings can be held indoors or outside, depending on the selected experience and conditions. The smaller scale of the tasting areas helps the visit feel personal. That intimate atmosphere matched my own experience, particularly when I had a bottle signed by the owner. It was a thoughtful moment that made the winery feel more approachable and created a keepsake I will always associate with the visit. Sequoia Grove produces a changing portfolio of Napa Valley wines rather than a fixed number that remains constant every year. Its selection focuses strongly on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varieties, including Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and red blends. It also produces wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, along with vineyard-designated and limited-production releases. Some of the winery's best-known bottles include its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford Bench Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, and Cambium, its flagship Bordeaux-style red blend. Cambium is featured prominently in the winery's premium tastings and food-pairing experiences. The first wine I tried was the Cabernet Sauvignon. It was bold but beautifully balanced, with rich dark-fruit flavors, velvety tannins, and a long, lingering finish. It had the structure and depth expected from a Napa Valley Cabernet while remaining smooth and elegant. It was powerful without feeling harsh and delivered everything I hoped to find in this style of wine. The Bordeaux-style blend was equally impressive. It was smooth, layered, and complex, with fruit, oak, and spice working together rather than competing with one another. The balance gave the wine a refined quality, and each sip seemed to reveal another layer of flavor. It was an excellent California interpretation of traditional Bordeaux-style winemaking. Sequoia Grove's current tasting information does not indicate that a souvenir glass is routinely included with its standard experiences. Guests should therefore not assume that the tasting glass can be taken home unless the winery specifically states that it is included. The signed bottle I received, however, became an even more personal souvenir from the visit. Sequoia Grove Winery was established in 1979 by brothers Jim and Steve Allen. They founded the winery during an important period in Napa Valley's development, when the region was gaining international recognition for producing wines capable of competing with respected European estates. The property's redwoods became central to both the winery's name and identity. Its rustic tasting room and mature trees create a strong connection between the winery and the natural character of the land. Sequoia Grove quickly earned recognition for its Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery reports receiving nation
