Start your loop from Semiahmoo Resort, take the paved path by the marina on the left side, and stop by the Alaska Packers Association Museum for a breather. Then, stroll back along the beach, where you can swap bird-watching on Drayton Harbor's side for seal-spotting in Semiahmoo Bay. And trust me, there's no shortage of seals--they're practically putting on a show! Shell hunting? Jackpot--whole oysters everywhere! It's like the beach said, "Here, have some treasure." Oh, and if you're a dog lover, this park is like doggy paradise. Picture your pup frolicking in the sun, while you hunt down those blackberries that grow all over the Drayton bay side of the path. If you're staying at the resort, grab one of their free bikes and cruise the spit. Summer does its thing here, making the whole place feel like the set of a feel-good beach movie, complete with breathtaking sunsets that will make your Instagram followers jealous. This place is like a vacation for your soul.

It was also cool to be able to cross the street and be right back on the beach. My dog had a great time running and playing on the beach, and my wife and I enjoyed picking black berries on the trails that run along the shore. The drive out to Semiahmoo was also beautiful. There is a museum/gift shop where you can park as well as a parking area further down the road past the museum. Its a great place for a day trip for a beach day.

But maybe you'll find restrooms at the other washroom (coords: 25PJ+QM Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) to also open late night? . If you stay late enough, a security officer will drive by and shine a flashlight into your car. I'm glad they care about our safety. I was alarmed, but appreciated the care. I ensured the officer I was fine, then he left. + Late night, it's mostly a quiet, peaceful ambience. - I love pickleball. Where I come from, all the public courts would fill by 7am. Panoramic, beautifully manicured grassy fields for soccer, football, baseball or anything that requires a giant field - you can find it here! There is a Waterpark, Playground, Bike Park, Sandy Area with Volleyball nets, and Tennis Courts in this surrounding area as well! Also, South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre offers tons of exercise and sport classes along with their large gym facility. It's great to walk around and see all the sport events happening or walk your dog (leashed) on a big open field. I really wish you could take them off-leash but no can do doggo. But there's an amazing Off-leash Dog Park near by - Dogwood Park! Plenty of free parking around the area as well! Public washrooms available at the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre and Rotary Club Centre. Overall, such a great part of South Surrey to get your heart racing and muscles pumping! Go on and get some fresh air and Vitamin D!

If you're not from Alberta, that analogy might not resonate with you. Crescent beach is like a locals only type of beach. There's a volleyball area, a Sandy cove for swimming, public restrooms, and a long walkway along the beach you can walk on. There are benches, logs and giant rocks for sitting and sun bathing or to just enjoy the sound of the water. I grabbed sushi from nearby sushi spot Hanaya Japanese restaurant and got their lunch special. Took my food "to-go" and headed on down to Crescent beach. There is free parking along residential streets but you can also park close to the public washrooms area next to the Crescent Beach swimming club (which is for members only). Although there are not many food or drink places on the beach, there is a little sail boat place where you can book a tour on a sailboat and head out onto the water. There is a dock for fishing too and the water is super clean. Lifeguards are also on patrol at this beach which is an amazing safety feature to have as well. I would definitely recommend this beach if you want something a little more low key, a little quieter, somewhere to meditate perhaps or have a nice lunch.

We took a nice spring break road trip up from Seattle to Vancouver and plotted our border crossing here - it's a lovely route with lots to see and do and this was an excellent spot to stretch our legs. The dramatic 67-foot tall, brilliant white arch spans across the border into both countries and shines like a beacon against the grasses and ocean. It's beautiful and we had fun making a fuss of my son walking over for the first time haha! The most astounding thing was finding a neighborhood that seemed to be right on the border line haha! We had to google if they're considered Canadian or American lol!! Turns out they're technically on the Canada side - but was an interesting rabbit hole to explore. Customs/immigration sits just beyond the arch and is well marked. The short lines moved fast but this was a weekday - based on my reading it can have some very long wait times so we got lucky. The park has lots of paved parking, shelters and seats, but I didn't see any bathrooms anywhere. You can access the park from either country and its entrances are well marked.

We were met by to agents and requested to go inside. Not sure what was going on we obliged. Once we walked in it was like a check and Chong movie with people everywhere looking pretty rough. We found a seat. They wouldn't even let you go to the bathroom. We were finally called to the desk. Again we provided our passports and explained what we were doing. He asked who I worked for and once I told home the US Federsl government things changed. About 5 minutes later they apologized for the delay and we were on our way. This whole ordeal set us back time wise so we just went into white rock. A very nice little border torn with a great Main Street, marina and beach. We wandered out onto the pier which had a great view. The main area where we parked had plenty of space as well as awesome shops and restaurants. Wasn't what we had planned for Canada but was a good visit.
