What a lovely park, just a block from one of the main thoroughfares in Fort Langley (Mavis Street), right down Church Street, over the railroad tracks and at the juncture of Church and the Fraser River.
My kid and I were not looking for a park when we stumbled upon this area. We wanted to go for lunch at one of the cute cafe/restaurants and we were just driving around the area, looking for a place to park. And what luck, that we drove down Church, to this park! There are two large parking lots here, flanking Church Street. Free parking, I might add. Ample spots for lots of cars. This is prime parking, and we will always now come here to park when we visit Fort Langley.
We explored the park a bit before heading to Mavis Street and Glover Street (the other main road). And we were so impressed. They have viewing areas on the Fraser River, and picnic areas, and a boat launch close by. The city's website says there are bathroom facilities here, too, but I didn't see them. What I did see is a gorgeous trail on wooden boardwalks running parallel to the river, under a canopy of trees. (The city map says this trail is called the Trans Canada Trail). It is so pristine here, and immaculately clean, and peaceful. So peaceful. read more
