There's a cool little demonstration garden and a roughly 1km path around the perimeter of the park spotted with benches and young trees. At the far side there are two lookout decks with views of the wetlands and the airport. On the other side of the creek there are off the beaten path trails where you could take your dog off-leash for a walk in the wetlands. To the east of the parking lot there is a trail that will take you to am underpass to cross Fraser Highway to continue your walk that way. On the far side of the park you'll find a memorial for Afganistan War Vets. It's really a nice spot to sit and reflect and will be even more so when the trees grow in to dampen the noise from the highway. The north side of the park just in the other side if the memorial has a path that will connect you with 56th Avenue should you wish to continue walking that direction. This is a great park to bring grandparents or small children to. There is decent nature to look at without any strenuous walking involved. Or you could walk around the path 5 or 6 times to get a bit of a workout in. Either or.

My kid and I were not looking for a park when we stumbled upon this area. We wanted to go for lunch at one of the cute cafe/restaurants and we were just driving around the area, looking for a place to park. And what luck, that we drove down Church, to this park! There are two large parking lots here, flanking Church Street. Free parking, I might add. Ample spots for lots of cars. This is prime parking, and we will always now come here to park when we visit Fort Langley. We explored the park a bit before heading to Mavis Street and Glover Street (the other main road). And we were so impressed. They have viewing areas on the Fraser River, and picnic areas, and a boat launch close by. The city's website says there are bathroom facilities here, too, but I didn't see them. What I did see is a gorgeous trail on wooden boardwalks running parallel to the river, under a canopy of trees. (The city map says this trail is called the Trans Canada Trail). It is so pristine here, and immaculately clean, and peaceful. So peaceful.

Its just the begining of the magic. Trailing along this park/trail would feel like crossing fields, forest, fauna and just going deep into woods. Half of the trail is around people's farmland. Ofcourse its fenced but u can see the crop and the farmhouses along the way. At places its dense tense trees n wild flowers. Pathway is gravel. U can bring your horses for horse riding or just a walk with them. ( i wish i had one but i will soon take my friends there). Somewhere in between is a railway track that is a perfect spot to take some rail track photos. ( i did take some) In total its 14 km stretch which is too much to walk or jog but who cares if u wanna be healthy so just go for it. Enjoy this sight.

The dry spell during spring/summer means the waterfall is more like a trickle. Cliff falls is now a…read morenarrow stream going over part of the rocks. I looked at others' pictures and could now see the difference. Most of the rocks are barely covered by the water. The interesting part now seeing the perfect round holes in the rocks. I guess those holes were formed by erosion when the falls was in full power, gushing over the rocks. We certainly need more rain to fill the creek. It is quite an easy hike/walk to the falls. Some parts have bridges and steps to help navigate. There are picnic tables and benches in the clearing so you can rest and refresh. Bins are there for garbage. We didn't walk to the hatchery area as the heat got to us. Nice place. I will be back to check out the salmon hatchery next time and hopefully the waterfall will be at its usual size. Parking is available at the lot next to the baseball field.

First time visiting this park and we saw lots of wildlife here…read more I like how the info board at the entrance of the park tells you where everything is and the estimated time it will take to complete each trail, and the distance of the trail and if it's flat or steep elevation. Very useful and helpful to decide which trail to go. We decided to do the Mini River Loop trail which is 2.3 km and will take about an hour to complete. However from the south entrance, we need to take the South Valley trail which is steep downhill to the valley where it will meet the Mini River Loop trail. Fortunately the steepness is not so bad and you can walk on the side which is grass if you are like me, afraid of slipping on the loose gravels in the middle. Just watch out for wildlife. We saw a skinny snake on the south valley trail. I was too stunned and by the time I wanted to take a picture, the snake has slithered across to the grass area. I managed to take a pic of it entering the forest. Only 2 steep parts of the south valley trail and then it was flat before meeting the Mini River Loop trail. That is a very nice walk with benches scattered around. On that trail, we saw chipmunk and squirrel and some tiny birds hopping on the ground. You can also hear the birds chirping and animals rustling among the leaves and bushes in the forest. We also saw people walking and running with their dogs, having picnics. A very nice place to be with nature and do some forest bathing. There is a pond near the parking lot and we heard the bullfrogs and saw ducks there. Definitely recommended for a simple commune with nature.

For the most part it's pretty clean and a well maintained trail. Lots of signs and maps so you don't have to worry about getting lost. Cell phone service varies depending on how deep the tree canopy is so be aware. There are washrooms along the trail near the garden park. Definitely will come back for this little slice of heaven in my back yard.

After discovering this lovely lakeside park, we have been bring our beloved Daisy here whenever we are in the area, I recall she used to love watching the ducks & other wildlife going about their business. Later when Daisy is not able to walk the distance, we would take her here in her stroller, the path along the lake is well paved and offers different vantage point for a lovely walk. Now that Daisy is on the other side of the rainbow, I am sure she would be happy that we are still coming here from time to time! Parking is abundant, & a very dog friendly park! The park has a paved path all around the lake, picnic areas with tables, and playgrounds. The park is clean and we found the other people using it to be very welcoming. We also saw lots of other dogs, much to our dog's delight.

The Malcolm Knapp Research Forest located in Maple Ridge BC is a plot of land owned by UBC to train…read moretheir students in their forestry programs. This Research forest is also open to the public all year long for walking only (no bikes or dogs aloud!). There are 4 loop trails located in the forest as well as many many km or logging roads to explore. If you go far enough on some of the logging roads you can gain a view of Pit Lake far below. There are also options of following logging roads into Golden Ears Provincial Park near Mike Lake. While hiking here you may hear very large trees being cut down and it may be a little unnerving (It made me jump a little bit) but this is just the forestry students learning. If it is unsafe to be on a road or trail due to this activity they will close It! For that reason do not go past trail closed signs if you see them! If you visit the forest during the week you may be able to pick up a copy of the trail map from the front office as they are usually open.

There are so many trails that one can cover in a relatively short amount of time. Trail information can be obtained through a pamphlet provided at the park. I was able to ride through a few trails and chose to walk others due to hills. As a new cyclist, I'd have hurt myself because it was an especially wet day. There's a playground, facilities, and picnic areas. The information pamphlet also provides a short history of how the land became a park. Very cool and beautiful place. I'll likely visit anytime I find myself in Lynden.
