Well, I wanted to try this place but I regret it. There is no difference between this place and long john silver's. We tried several different items and all were pretty much a greasy mess and neither I or my brother liked it and ended up throwing most of it away. I just adore Rusty's Wharf.. I mostly come here for family meals and I just love that they always have a coupon in the Val-Pak for a free meal so we get 3 dinners for the price of 2.. The food is like a better quality long john silvers.. That may be why ljs went out of business in pataskala? Their tartar sauce is delish! I love their clams, fried fish, grilled fish, rice, hush puppies.. Everything is great.. Really fresh and doesn't seem like it's been frozen!!! One day soon I'm going to try their wings.. We love going to this charming restaurant a few times month. There is something for everyone: I love the baked fish, my husband gets the fish basket or sandwich, and my daughter (who isn't a seafood fan) loves the burgers. This place is a hidden gem in Pataskala. It's nestled in a shopping center and sits back a ways from Broad Street behind a car wash, so it's easy to miss. I lived right down the road for over a year before I even realized that it was there. The service is great. The food is excellent. The place is tiny! If you plan to eat in, make sure that you avoid lunch or dinner time because it fills up fast. Also, be prepared to smell like a deep fryer when you leave. The ventilation could be a little better. My advice, call ahead and get your order to-go so that it's easy in and easy out. read more

I don't live in the area anymore, but whenever I come back to visit I make sure that I have Rusty's at least once. There's not a lot of diversity in Pataskala's food offerings, so it's always nice to know Rusty's is there to counterbalance the chain restaurants across the street. Oh man, if I lived closer I'd be in big trouble! This place serves the best fish sandwich I've ever had in a comfortable, clean environment with sweet, attentive service. I also had the beans and mac & cheese with hush puppies - all to die for. Free wifi was a bonus as I was there for about 3 hours while I waited on my car to be serviced. Tucked in a shopping center behind a car wash, they can be a bit hard to locate on your first visit, but it's well worth the effort. This place puts LJS to shame. The fish is perfectly fried, not greasy at all and the batter doesn't overpower the fish. The clams are tender and moist and the shrimp are nice sized. I almost always get the sampler which is a good value and enough food to not leave you hungry. You can't go wrong here. read more

no masks, no gloves, no problem. i am currently watching some employees working and only one is properly wearing a mask. i've been here for about 20 minutes and nobody has washed their hands or sanitized a surface. the cooks are touching the food with their sweaty, raw hands. i just spent $35 here and unfortunately i'll be throwing my food away, which saddens me because damn do those COVID fries smell good. :/ read more

Ok. I live in New England and thought I was crazy to get seafood in Ohio. I must say. I had the calamari basket and was so glad I did. In fact I don't think I have had such good calamari since living in California over 10 years ago. Perfectly cooked with light breading. I love the fries too. I was a few doors down at the quilt shop and asked for a recommendation. The perfect vacation meal after driving 5 hour. I will return next time I drive to visit my son. read more

Whenever the wife and I are in the mood for fish n chips, there's two places local that will fulfill our urges. Luckily, they're pretty similar to each other, Marino's in Upper Arlington, and a bit farther out in the suburbs, Rusty's Wharf. I'm still undecided on which is the better one, as they're both owned by different family members, and there's slight menu and recipe differences between the two, but I'm leaning towards Rusty's Wharf. Fish is always well breaded and hot, not over fishy flavored. Chips are tasty, I've also tried some of their other items and enjoyed everything but the chicken. Service is great, and for being a thousand miles inland, you'd think you're at the edge of the Atlantic eating a fresh catch! read more

I had high hopes based on some of the reviews, but the fish and chicken was basically the same as Long John's, Marino's, etc. The mac-n-cheese was good, not great...about a step above KFC's mac. You order at the counter and they bring your food out. The place was clean, including bathrooms. The help was friendly. If you're in the area, give it a try. Visited Rusty's Wharf once and will not be going back again. All of the fish is heavily battered and fried...basically 60% breading 40% fish. Basically like a Long John Silvers. Was hoping for so much more. For what you get, their prices are really high. read more

This is one of my favorite places. I love the fish, hushpuppies, everthing actually. It is a small restaurant in the middle of Pataskala. They do alot of carryout but you also can sit down and eat. The wait for food is not very long because you order as soon as you walk in. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to get my meal and the staff is very friendly. Talking about Rustys Wharf has made me hungry. Im going to get Rusty's fish, fries and hushpuppies. See you there. read more
