We ordered the three meat dinner with potato salad and fried okra. Ribs, sliced brisket, and chicken. Everything was amazing. The ribs fell off the bone, so technically they maybe should've not been quite as tender, but the flavor was amazing and I wish I could smoke ribs this good at home. Brisket was excellent, and the chicken super juicy. As advertised with the 5 star review rating on yelp, this place is exceptional. Pretty much no one was wearing masks, but we're both fully vaccinated, so it really wasn't a problem. Highly recommend this place, I want to come back, and actually order a chicken fried steak! Delicious! Delicious! Yelpalicious! I would love to give them a 6th star, if only I could! Visiting Lake Eufaula area with friends for the weekend. We were headed back to OKC on Sunday afternoon and had a hankering for something tasty. I yelped to see what was in the area, we decided to give this place a try-so happy we did! It's a small spot, but is in the process of expanding. They have poured a concrete slab towards the back of the building. It's great to hear construction is underway to create a larger footprint for this little Henryetta culinary gem. They serve BBQ. Darn good BBQ. Award winning BBQ. Like all good BBQ places, when they are out, they are out. So when we arrived midday on a Sunday they were out of ribs. I was so sad. So we ordered the two meat meal with sliced brisket and pulled pork. It was a perfect sharable meal for two of us. It was a girls weekend and there were 4 of us dining together. Me & my crew, we all love good food. We made it more of a family style experience-it's the best way to go! You get to try so much more of their tasty offerings that way. The sliced brisket was my favorite. [ But I am dying to return to try their ribs ]. The smoked bologna was probably my second favorite-it was so so yummy! [ TIP: Not sure if you'll like something, ask for a sample! The kind folks here will take care of you. ] The smoked chicken was also tender, juicy & yummy. I liked the pulled pork, but it rounded out the bottom of my list. This lunch packed with so much flavor and deliciousness, that pulled pork had some serious competition. Some BBQ places do the meat well and offer sides as an afterthought--not Rustlers! For sides, the potato salad was my favorite closely followed by the round pickle chips in the serve-yourself condiments bar. The potato salad is a flavorful yellow mustard style potato salad which isn't usually my first choice, but it's awesome. Someone in the kitchen should be very proud of themselves for that potato salad. My question is, what would some of those delicious round pickled chips cut up finely and added to that potato salad taste like--boy I bet that would take it to a whole 'nother level. Which leads me back to that self-serve selection of various pickled things. You just gotta pick some out and try them with your meal! My perfect bite was a pickle chip with sliced brisket smothered in their tasty house made BBQ sauce. Oh, it was the just the perfect bite! We went back for seconds to that tasty little serve-yourself bar. I enjoyed their baked beans and coleslaw. Both tasted fresh and home made. I was less of a fan of the mashed potatoes, but probably because that potato salad was so darn tasty. So extra points to Rustlers for bringing their "A game" with all their amazing sides. As other yelpers have mentioned, they offer black cherry kool-aid and all its deliciousness. It was great with my meal. The adult in me watered it down quite a bit, but I sure enjoyed it. You guys. Do not miss the smoked pecan pie with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. They take a small commercial single serve pecan pie and smoke it in the smoker for about 20 minutes. They bring it to your table topped with ice cream and caramel goodness. It was worth every single calorie. It didn't taste like a commercial pecan pie. You could taste the subtle smoked flavor. I loved it! It was perfect for two people to share. I wish Rustlers every bit of success-they deserve it. The folks here were so very kind. They wanted us to enjoy our time with them. They cared about how we were enjoying our meal-that goes a looooong way in the hospitality department for me. Wish list items: * Craft beer, preferably craft draft beer. They offer your standard global AB/Coors products. Next level would be a partnership with some local Oklahoma craft breweries. [Could we have Rustlers BBQ, sides and pies served at a brewery in OKC on the weekends, pretty please...?] * They are open Thursdays to Sundays 11am to 9pm. Henryetta is lucky to have the gem. We had the "all in" and everything was delicious. I was very impressed by the ribs (fall off the bone) and the brisket (featuring a beautiful smoke ring). Awesome find just off I-40 in Henryetta OK! I was told about this BBQ restaurant by a friend in CA! Time Magazine rated this as best BBQ in OK... they're right! We are driving across country and stopped in for dinner... Steve Sanford the owner suggested we order his sample platter... pulled pork, smoked chicken, hot links, brisket and wait for it... fried bologna! We added two ribs and then the sides- coleslaw, incredible baked beans and the sweetest potato salad I've had in a long time! The meat is incredible. Steve is a craftsman with the smoker! Great smoke ring and so moist, the ribs fell off the bone. The hot link is spicy enough to get your attention but not over powering. Chicken has a nice smoke flavor but full of juices. The brisket was fork tender and again, perfectly smoked. Add a couple of slices of grilled toast and you have a platter! The condiments took me over the top! Pickled okra, fresh slices of onions, crisp pickle spears, sweet pickles and peppers. Drinks included the normal fountain drinks but we opted for the seldom seen black cherry kool-aid! He has beer in bottles but we didn't order any. On our way in, we mentioned we were passing through. Steve showed us hi side lot with 7 RV sites with poured pads and full hook-up! He has a washing machine and dryer for your use and stays open until 9:00pm. Invited us back over for desert... one of his staff made home made cake-balls. We were traveling through Oklahoma on a long road trip and were so happy to find Rustlers BBQ conveniently located near Interstate 40. We all got The Big Jake sandwich which has 4 different proteins- turkey, beef brisket, pulled pork and hot links on Texas toast! It was phenomenal! Okay! First, I rarely place reviews unless it is really good or really bad. You will be glad to know this place is really good! Second, I know BBQ because I run my own pit so I am a BBQ snob of sorts. Many BBQ joints to me are very mediocre. And most chain restaurants just don't have the time or can justify the cost on creating BBQ the "correct" and good ol' fashion way of low and slow stick burning. I am going to upset many people with this statement but you can keep your overpriced Burn Co BBQ hot and fast smoked meat with heavy charcoal taste. Burn Co brisket is dry and bland. Yes, their ribs, sausage and fattys are epic but not cooked low and slow the traditional way like Rustlers! Now Steve Sanford does it right! You can really tell he cares about his product and its refreshing to find great BBQ still out there in Oklahoma. His brisket and chicken are very flavorful and moist! Just the right amount of smoke.This can be a challenge for this who cook BBQ and know what it takes to make it happen. Now for my main course, "The Big Jake" sandwich was amaaazing! It's 4 meats (brisket, chicken, pulled pork and hotlink) in grilled buttered garlic sour dough with pepper jack cheese! Nice change up from the usual bland bun just to hold the contents. And guess what? Just a little bit of BBQ sauce to enhance the flavor profile (not to cover up the hard work or be like other places, mask an inferior product). My wife did the chopped brisket which is a perfect consistency of how the likes it. Chopped fine and mixed with sauce. Maybe not how others may like it but she loved it. He offers it sliced which I will try next time along with the ribs. I hear they are good too. This place it a smaller joint but very clean and nice. Don't let that fool you into what awaits you inside. I personally don't need to go to fancy places with huge overhead, I can eat BBQ off a paper plate or just wax paper and a stand up counter if it's good! What a great off the beaten path BBQ place! Driving home from Eufaula and wanted something other than fast food, so came to Yelp to see what was around and found this gem! It's connected to a small RV park and you'll have to get off I-40. It's tucked off 62/75. We had the pulled pork, turkey and chopped brisket with cole slaw and fried okra...OMG...turkey was SO juicy and the okra was perfectly cooked (less batter so you could really taste the okra!). Passing by after dropping the kids at summer camp. Thought I would look for some barbecue along I-40, and this place came up. It's a touch off the beaten path, tucked behind some industrial spots, but less than 5 minutes off the highway. The interior is quaint in a faux working class Americana sort of way. It's trying to look older than it is, but it's very clean and nice yet casual. There are four booths and five tables (of various sizes) inside and five picnic tables outside (along with a table in the enclosed entryway). You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I'm a brisket guy, so that's always one of my choices. They also offer pulled pork, "twice smoked" bologna (which I would definitely try on a return trip), chicken breast, hot links, and St. Louis style pork ribs. I ordered a two meat platter with sliced brisket and ribs, along with red-skinned mashed potatoes and BBQ baked beans. No alcohol here, if that matters to you. The food was brought out on a paper lined tray, with the sides in styrofoam cups and accompanied by a slice of Texas toast. The brisket and ribs were well executed, with a good smoke ring around both and a flavorful dry rub on the ribs (two ribs on the two meat platter; four slices of brisket). There was only one sauce offered. It was relatively sweet and low on the spice level. The flavor was okay, but not my preference. The beans were excellent, and the potatoes were okay for what they were. Yes, they offer potato salad, but it's primarily mayo-based and that's not my jam. I didn't order the slaw either for the same reason, and I don't trust corn on the cob anywhere but home. Overall, the meat was really good. I'll definitely be back in the area, and will adjust my ordering to my preferences next time. I'm giving the place four stars based on their excellent execution and the quality of the meat. My criticisms were based on my personal tastes, not anything they did wrong. The only thing that prevented me from giving a five star rating was the one sauce. Oklahoma is sort of a barbecue melting pot, and the Texas influence is strong enough that I believe a spicy/hot option should always be offered. Classic order at the counter BBQ place. It's a little on the small side, so peak hours might be a little packed. There were only three tables taken today though. The cowboy decor is really cute. I can tell the owner put a lot of effort into it. The bathrooms were clean, which is always a must! The staff were really nice and helpful. The manager or possibly the owner came out to greet us midway through our meal. We had the pulled pork, the sliced brisket and grilled cheese sandwich. All the meat was flavorful and juicy. The baked beans and potato salad was pretty good too. The BBQ sauce was really good and not spicy. A couple things missing though were more choices of BBQ sauces, some people like their BBQ spicy, and I didn't see okra on the menu!
