Main dining room...not a bad view in the place!

A hidden gem along the way to Banff and Jasper if you're coming from the US. The lodge and dining room has the a wonderful rustic ambiance with stunning views of the mountains and lake. The service of the staff is warm, responsive and first class. Food is reasonably priced with good portion sizes and excellent presentation. The menu has a variety of great dishes and has vegan and gluten free options. Would recommend for anyone passing through!

I can't believe no one has actually posted a review for this gem. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, but not old or worn down. There are also two large patios which are probably a great place to tune in the summer. Best part of all though is the food! We went for lunch and all had something different. The short rib sandwich is to die for and the chicken parmigiana sandwich is incredibly flavourful. It is clear that lots of thought has been given to each dish, from ingredients to presentation, and I wish I was there long enough to try everything on the menu. Finally, the best part is the price. Lunch prices are much lower than what you'd expect to find for this type of setting and quality.

I visited Bear Street Tavern based off of a recommendation by a coworker. Beer and pizza is usually…read morea winning combination and Bear Street Tavern is a great example of this. Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.

We were so pleasntly surprised that even brewhouses in the area had such limited selection. We got the double double pizza and a sandwich, which were so delicious and flavorful. Not to mention, the wheat ale and Papa Bear pale ale were also refreshing while we sat outside
