Great spot for healthy variety of lunch and breakfast options. I had a veggie wrap and it came with a side of chips (side choice is chips or soup for all lunch menu items). I've only eaten here once and I have to say that my breakfast burrito was excellent. Well priced with a wonderful piece of homemade wholewheat bread and jam. However, I sat at my table for about 5 minutes, staff walking back and forth between the kitchen and the only other seated table, until one of them thought it might be a good idea to let me know I have to order at the counter. Rookie mistake, but with about 12 tables and waiter delivery, it's not obvious that that's the procedure. The meals headed to the other table all looked really good so I was excited and ready to get past the early delay. But then they brought my tea in a tiny tin pot, the kind that you get at hospital cafeterias, that filled almost half of my cup. Really! I know I'm in coffee country but spring for a few decent tea pots. So, if your not a tea drinker, this could be your place. I'll be back, "black coffee please!" read more

I'm a huge fan of Blue Dog Cafe. We stubbled into BDC on a rainy afternoon shopping and exploring Invermere and we were O'So happy we did! The selection of freshly made food is great. Everything we ate was excellent, from the soup to the chips and salsa (which they make in house). We were so impressed that we made another trip into town just so we could eat and relax in BDC before returning State Side. They offer a great selection of Kicking Horse coffee to include their own brew (which is really good actually). Their home made deserts are a treat not to be missed and again, the service is great (very friendly). If you haven't been here, you're missing out! read more

I always use Yelp to help me choose a place to eat when I am travelling. I was passing through Invermere and looking for somewhere to get a late lunch. The Blue Dog Cafe had good reviews on Yelp so that's where we went. They have a good number of items on their menu so I think most people will find something they will like. I cold not decide between a few choices and while I was deliberating another customer received his order for a chicken sandwich with cranberry chutney. I asked him if he liked it and after he took a bit he gave it the , so that's what I ordered with a cup of creamy tomato soup, which actually had chunks of tomato and onions. My partner ordered the falafel pita and she said it was good. When on a road trip it can be easy to default to a fast food chain, but you can get that fare anywhere. I find that it can be much more rewarding (and healthier) to find a local restaurant for an experience unique to where you are. Thanks to Yelp I am usually happy with the places I choose. The Blue Dog Cafe has the usual beverage options and I picked a bottled craft ginger beer, but I wish I had noticed the home made flavoured sodas, which I will have to try the next time I visit Invermere . To sum up, good, healthy food made to order and decent value. read more

Excellent place to get local homemade while food. The flavour in the sauces/dressings is fantastic! Our crew had the breakfast burrito, scramble, smoked salmon wrap, garden salad (the creamy dill dressing was to die for), and the cheese quesadilla with side soup (tomato with a basil aioli, OMG). Since 2002 I've been in and out of the Blue Dog quite often and I think I've had the falafel pita just about every time. After a while it lost it's luster, but this place is still fantastic for lunch or a quick bite anytime it's open. The staff are always pleasant and engaging, which makes for a nice time when it's busy and a bit hectic. Fond memories of this place, if you're in Invermere, go. read more

Super cozy and intimate rustic cafe space with local mountain-town art work on the walls. Great food (particularly the soups!) and very friendly staff. They offer yummy baked goods, sandwiches, and more. Such a nice place to stop and grab a bite when in Invermere! read more

Cute little cafe. Very busy spot but service is always friendly and accommodating. Portions are average to small - but enough to satisfy. Quality of wraps and salads and treats are all great, food is always fresh and made to order. I always make sure to stop in here for a quick lunch whenever I'm in the area. My fave is the Thai chicken wrap, which I've also had made into a salad. They have enviro-friendly take away containers also, which makes bringing lunch to the beach super easy and eco safe :) read more

Very nice, very tasty, small cafe. The food was good, the coffee was great, and the ambiance was very cool. We were glad to have a chance to have breakfast there but were a little bummed when they didn't open before 10AM on Sunday. All in all great experience. read more
