Hot wax and small vittles are a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Jenn our fearless soy candle leader was informative and fun. I appreciate her authenticity and real connection that she made with us. It was nice to meet someone who was able to be themself. Refreshing. The entire class was an intimate group of five total. Jenn took her time with us and made sure that we were happy with the scents we chose for our candles. The class spends a bit of time talking about scents and how to layer them. Did I learn how to make candles on my own? No. It was more of an introduction to the world of candle making. Give it a try and dip your wick into it. FYI: You get a 15% store wide discount on the day of the workshop. Scents open up more fully in your candle after a few days. One Disappointment: We checked Google and Yelp for their hours and thought we could make it before they closed. We raced over for our candles after work. Google & Yelp HAVE MISINFORMATION about HOURS. We tried to call...no answer. Hours are not posted on their door. So check their website for their hours.

The store is not overwhelming, it's got a nice selection with well curated and complimentary items next to each other as to give you a complete vision for your home. I found out not only do they carry sustainable products but the artisans that supply Ceto Home are respected & paid living wages to produce said items. It's a concept long overdue. This place is essentially a carefully curated home store for people who have taste but also can't be trusted near beautiful objects. Everything inside is eclectic, often funny, and somehow both ridiculous and essential at the same time. A lava lamp? Obviously. Napkins with personality? Already in my cart, spiritually. The owners clearly have an eye for things that make you stop, laugh, and then think, wait, I actually need that. It's a dangerous combination. My wallet has filed a formal complaint. They carry something for everyone -- including your dog and cat, who, let's be honest, have been judging your home décor for years and deserve a say. The soaps, clocks, and candles all feel handpicked rather than bulk-ordered, which is increasingly rare and delightful. I went in "just browsing." Crystal whiskey glasses that depict National Parks, Which can be chilled at the perfect temperature for a 25 year old whiskey. This is just to name a few items that stood out on my visit. Sidecar Mercantile is a great representation of coolness & gifts for that hard to buy for someone or just for yourself. It's a pretty small store the selection is small it they seem to have some cute home decor from San Francisco and maybe local artist. The main reason for my 3 stars is price. It just seems incredibly unreasonable. There were felt coasters for $30, little felt rings to put on your wine glass for $28, reusable bag for shopping that was $68, tiny vase for a tiny succulent was $28 but you could buy a whole basket of succulents with a basket for that price. And a very small candle for $35. I'm not rich but I'm not poor and I would find it very hard for me to come back to those prices. I felt that the items weren't that more unique to hold those prices.
