We got our Marriott bag of treats including a chocolate, bottled water and a popcorn snack. Dinner told us where the pool was. Let us know about the hours, and we enjoyed watching Toy story three on the large beautiful television in the lobby. The pool is magnificent: not too cold not too hot and the perfect size to swim around and have fun, but not gigantic and cumbersome to move around in. We stayed in the pool for a long time, swimming and chatting and having a ball. The next morning breakfast was from 630 until nine. There we met the wonderful Connie and Julia and eight are delicious. Very impressive breakfast. I don't even like cheese, but I couldn't say no to the jalapeño three cheese scones. It was amazing. We loved the two different kinds of sausage oranges bananas make your own waffles. Either large or four minis eggs muffins oatmeal the list goes on and on. I'm not a coffee person, but I had quite the impressive coffee bar that had people coming back multiple times. Also at breakfast, I was able to watch Tanya talk to what appeared to be someone who's there quite often catching up like old friends do. This hotel felt both like a beautiful palace but also a comfy bed and breakfast

Not everyone can say that they have trekked across the vast good 'ole USA on a cross-country trip…read more Well my little booty can say I have: twice in fact. Once taking northern route from Ohio through states like Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada and now the southern route along historic Route 66 (currently US 44). This trip began in Chicago before concluding in Los Angeles and started at about 6pm which meant driving through St. Louis and deciding to stop for the night around midnight. Where was the stop? Budget Deluxe Motel in Rolla, Missouri. Where the heck is Rolla, Missouri you ask? I can't answer that. It's the middle of nowhere near the Ozarks at the intersection of US 44 (route 66) and 63. Nestled by a gas station and the freeway; Budget Deluxe Motel is literally a roadside roof over the heads of travelers but certainly not a destination spot. The reason we decided to stay the night at this establishment was merely because we were exhausted and the attendant at the gas station said "You can get away with more at this motel. Less cops ". Not sure what that means except that maybe the hotel across the street has prostitutes and drug busts? Lord knows. Either way, we were famished and just wanted a bed. Walking into the main office is like walking into a hillbilly throwback. This place genuinely feels like the South and is terribly outdated. The front desk woman (Budget Deluxe is family-owned and maintained); announced that they had one room available on the first floor with double beds. This would be $39.95 plus $5 per adult. Yeah, they charge per adult. One can pretty much tell from the exterior of this motel what to expect on the inside... No bells or whistles... But I was even more disappointed than I would have thought. Budget Deluxe has old-school physical keys (not the plastic door keys) to rooms and I opened it with difficulty. Literally, because the carpet is up against the bottom of the door and inhibits smooth opening. Once I used my gym -strengthened arms to push through; my eyes gazed upon a room that looked straight out of 1979 but I suppose it is 1982 when the motel was built. This place has late 70s/80s furnishings, an old large tube TV that people throw away at curbs, and a sink counter that looks straight out of a jail cell. There is an old microwave, old small coffee maker, and a mini-fridge, though. The bathroom of Budget Deluxe is sort of what did me in to more disgust. The cramped quarters features a toilet which ran and there was... wait for it... pubic hair on the floor and in the shower! Um, what?! Don't they wash/clean this place?! Thank God I had travel Lysol spray. The mattress was actually suitably comfortable but I was awoken in the morning to construction at the gas station and loud banging from upstairs. Not the most pleasant wake up call. At the 11am checkout, I returned the keys to the motel staff whom were actually kind and friendly. But I couldn't get out fast enough. So what's the conclusion about Budget Deluxe? If you are exhausted and want to spend minimal bucks for a roof over head and don't care about outdated amenities and pubic hair... then Budget Deluxe is your place. It's literally just that: a roof over your head as I was too grossed out to even shower here. Otherwise, perhaps you should travel onwards to the next stop.

Check in was easy, the internet connection was fast, and the rooms were clean and quiet. The microwave was perfect for nuking some popcorn. This Budget Deluxe goes on our 'approved' list.

They are in the middle of a Renovation and they have 'Excuse Our Mess' on all of the doors. The Check-In Clerk was Becky and she was very nice and Professional. Directing me where to Park and enter to be close to our room. Our Room was a Pet Friendly one -- therefore no Carpeting. But the Flooring was a Laminate and appeared to have been newly replaced. The Floor was Gray and Black and the Black Out Curtains were Dark Blue with hints of Gray. The walls appeared to be newly painted in shades of Gold and Green. Which found a little strange. There was a Gold Wing Back Chair with a Pillow. The Bedspread was WHITE with a Gold and Rust Runner along the bottom. Absolutely NO Artwork on any of the walls. It made me think that they were still working on this room. The Fridge and Microwave were a little older with some scratches, etc. but worked just fine. The Pool was Indoors and looked AMAZING!! But Hubby doesn't swim -- so I didn't use it. Their Breakfast was Continental with the usual Cereals, Breads, Bagels, Yogurt and Fruit. They did have some Muffins that looked tasty, but I have to eat Gluten Free so most of items were off limits for me. They also had little Pancake and Waffle Makers with your choice of Regular or Blueberry Batter (which smelled really good). They had some Hot Items -- Biscuits and Gravy and Sausage Patties. Hubby said that the Gravy was pretty good! I had a Yogurt and an Apple with a glass of Orange Juice (the Juice was very diluted). They had Coffee and Hot Tea, as well. We had easy access to an area to walk our Pets and carried along our little Waste Disposal Bags. They are directly across from Bandana's BBQ -- which is an excellent place for Lunch, Dinner or Drinks. All Members of their Staff were Courteous and Helpful. The one Minus Point for me was that they charged $15 per Dog -- Totaling $30. The Check Out process went smoothly and I was given a Printed Receipt from a sweet Young Lady whose name I didn't get. Will definitely stay here again.

Service animals are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act and are not subject to pet policies or pet fees. No damage occurred, and the charge on my folio was explicitly labeled as a pet cleaning fee rather than any documented damage or extraordinary cleaning. I contacted hotel management in writing to explain the situation and cite the applicable ADA regulations. As of this review, I have received no response or resolution from the property. On top of this the comforter was stained upon arrival. The hotel claims to be very clean and all it takes is 5 minutes of being there to see their low standards. This experience was disappointing and concerning, particularly for guests who rely on service animals and expect ADA compliance from a national hotel chain. I would strongly encourage management to review ADA requirements and ensure staff are properly trained to avoid similar situations in the future. I would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone I know. Truly, I'd rather sleep in my car.

The bathroom was pretty standard. My only complaint about my visit was the water pressure. I love a good hot shower. I tried different settings on the shower head but was disappointed. My bar was a bit low when booking this particular hotel prior to our departure. Rolla is a mining area and not really a bustling spot for regular travelers like myself otherwise. Parked directly between Springfield and St. Louis though, it was going to be the ideal spot for us to wrap up 10 hours of driving that day. This Hampton Inn seemed to be the best option in the area. Clearly the most expensive hotel for Rolla, it appeared other options had exceptionally bad ratings or were super cheep road side rooms. Traveling with one other female, a kid and a dog, we booked the Hampton Inn because: 1) it would take a pet ($75 pet fee) 2) it had a frig in the room 3) assumed better safety based on hotel brand name 4) no other known option in my opinion I felt comfortable booking Small, friendly, easy, relatively clean, I found this Hampton Inn just fine. It includes breakfast every morning in addition to two bottles of water in the room. Priced a touch high for area, but not really though for being the best option in area and safety in the Hilton branded Hampton name. Carson who checked us in was friendly, welcoming and explained all we needed to know. Thanks Carson for the hospitality. No USB port options in room, which was my only noticeable con observation. The bathroom could use a little update, maybe some sanding down of the paint on the vanity that was pealing away specifically, but was clean, with plenty of towels and bottled pump shampoo/conditioner/body wash in shower. It was ok. It had a clock, when many hotels are doing away with these in today's world. With 4am wake up times, best to have options for alarms. Although we arrived late, I believe it also serves an easy dinner in the same area as they serve breakfast. Pictures look like maybe a simply pasta, some breads, etc. Don't let my 3 be a discouraging rating. It means to me OK good, not OK bad.

From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was not welcoming. They weren't outright rude, but they were inattentive and gave the impression that guest service was not a priority. The room itself had a noticeable mildew odor, and the sheets smelled sour, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. The biggest issue, however, was the shower. It drained extremely slowly, leaving us standing in dirty backwash while trying to bathe. We reported the problem to the front desk before leaving for the day on Sunday, expecting it to be properly addressed. When we returned that evening, the beds had been made and it seemed like some sort of spray had been used to mask the smell, but the main issue was not fixed. The shower was still draining poorly, and it appeared that the only "solution" was pulling the drain stopper up higher rather than actually resolving the problem. Overall, the lack of attention to cleanliness and failure to properly address a basic maintenance issue made this stay very unpleasant. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this location to others.
