The beef quality was superb--thick-cut, tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned without overpowering its natural flavor. While the edges were cooked slightly beyond medium due to the uneven cut, that's a very minor critique. The grilled asparagus was delicious, and the green chile hominy was absolutely amazing. Overall, I would give Perini Ranch Steakhouse a 98 out of 100. The food, atmosphere, and quality were exceptional, making it one of the best of the steakhouses I've experienced.

We took the onions and cucumbers off our salad due to dietary issues and that left us with lettuce, mushrooms, and dressing. Our burger was the best part. It was cooked well, and the bun was soft. The strawberry shortcake was disappointing. The fruit was stewed and the biscuits were hard with just room temp heavy cream to offset the temperature of the fruit. For ambiance, it was nothing to write home about. Very busy and very loud, but it was a Saturday evening so that was to be expected. What I didn't expect was the lack of air conditioning in July. It was over 100 degrees that day, and it was cooler outside. Unacceptable for Texas in July when you're seating tables 3' from each other. Our server was good. She was attentive, and kept our water glasses filled. We may try again once the weather cools down.

Completely unexpected just a few miles from Camp Bowie. Reservations recommended. Came with a group and snagged half a dozen seats at the bar. Started with cocktails. Everyone was pleased. Heavy pours. Austin prices. Totally worth it. You know you are in the presence of culinary excellence when the menu is limited to less than a dozen items. Crab cakes. That is all. Order it. Eat it. Move along. Korean fried chicken is the bomb ! Get it. No regrets. As is the wedge. Pick a steak. Order it medium rare. It's truly that good. And, apparently, even if you aren't a fan of mac&chz - you can (and should) get it with seafood, steak, or that f'n delicious Korean fried chicken. Just get it to go and arm wrestle your 9 year old for it tomorrow. Poor kid is going hungry... Exceptional service. Owner is welcoming and awesome. Bar manager is awesome. Ambiance is awesome. We're coming back.

I had the Beef Wellington with Stilton sauce. It was the most tender, perfectly cooked piece of beef I've ever eaten. The mashed potatoes were amazing, as well. Service was extraordinary. Every morsel of food was prepared to perfection. I can't wait to return.

It would be like if you combined the Westin with a dude ranch with a Michelin restaurant. My group was there in January, so as you can see from the pictures, it was very dry/ brown, but im sure in the spring/summer it is gorgeous and green. The rooms are well appointed; the sunsets gorgeous. They have a lovely community porch/lookout area where you can sit wine or coffee and just soak in the scenery. They also have a community fridge for guests to utilize. There is a Nespresso in every room, as well as filtered water. They also have some very sweet farm animals (donkeys, horse, dog) that you can play with and pet. My only complaint about the rooms is that the showers have low water pressure. I assume this is b/c they are on different infrastructure than an "in the city" hotel. Not a big deal to most people, but i have long thick hair and so like strong water pressure to wash my hair quickly. As for the restaurant, it reminds me of a friendlier, more texas version of French Laundry (the famous restaurant in the Napa Valley area). There is a fixed menu of 5 courses, all of which were very tasty!! I would have liked bigger portions, but the quality was great. I greatly enjoyed the food, the other guests, and the nice but not invasive wait staff. The staff largely leaves you alone, so make sure to expect that when you stay here. They are not constantly bugging you or checking up on you. If you are looking for a lovely country getaway, do make the trip out to Coleman, TX, and spend a night or two at Ranch Loma!

Robert led us to our gorgeous king room where the most delicious yuzu margaritas, prepared by Laurie were waiting for us. We enjoyed relaxing with our drinks before dinner, taking in the beautiful landscape and visiting with the other guests. There are several very comfortable (and stylish) outdoor seating areas. Really, everything at Rancho Loma is comfortable (and stylish). Dinner was 5-courses of PERFECTION. I brought wine and my hubby brought a couple of bottles of beer which were kept cool until he was ready for them. Hubby was super impressed with the little pilsner glass with orange zest that Robert brought to the table for his beer. When I asked for bread, the waitress brought 2 freshly warmed slices drizzled with olive oil. (It's all about the little touches, you know.) I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite course, so I'll say it was a toss-up between the Lasagna Bolognese and the Akaushi strip steak. This was the first steak I've had in 8 months and boy was it worth it!! For breakfast, Laurie whipped up the best huevos rancheros in the world. SO fresh & delicious! I really cannot recommend Rancho Loma enough. Service, food & the accommodations were all A++. Robert and Laurie have created something truly special and we can't wait to return again!
