As I am buying an older house, I've been exploring my options for renovations. Ideally, most of the work I do will be done with sustainable materials. Even at Lowe's, Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators, sustainable materials still carry a relatively hefty price tag, and for what? Some of the stuff is questionably sustainable, or less sustainable than another brand. After having my cabinets quoted, countertops quoted and floors quoted, I am confident that Mwanzi can give any of those discount suppliers a run for their money when it comes to sustainable materials. You can rest assured at that every bit of lumber is either reclaimed or Forest Stewardship Council certified. One of the neatest things that they do is to claim local, fallen timber from North St. Louis and have it milled into lumber for their very own cabinet line, "Greenhaus Cabinets". These cabinets are made right here in St. Louis of a number of different woods and appear to be made with the finest hardware and craftsmanship. I will be saving all I can to afford my Greenhaus Cabinets, but I will be incredibly glad that I did. The sheer variety of sustainable countertops and flooring offered at Mwanzi is nearly staggering. For countertops they have Cambria, Caesarstone, Bamboo Butcher block, Squak Mtn. Stone, Richlite and Paperstone. There are many many more options for flooring. I look forward to working with them on every home project I am able to afford. I highly recommend making an appointment to see their showroom (yes, the showroom is by appointment only). Not to say I haven't had a few issues each time, however. The first major problem was documented in review 1. I made sure that I was CLEAR this time in the sink mounting. For reference, this piece of black honed granite for a a vanity console top, fabricated from a remnant for pickup (no install or measurement) is $750. Mitered edges are labor intensive and I get that. I was good with the price. My only issue is that one side is slightly longer than the other such that it doesn't sit flat on the console base. The measuring tape and level finally answered this for me. That said, I've gone months without a sink so I'm making this work and it's gorgeous.

Kelly is very inexperienced when quoting projects and will definitely bait and switch her pricing mid project, not to mention her attempt to nickel and dime you along the way. she agreed to a price and is now not willing to finish the project if we don't agree to her new price. I would not trust this company to build me a dog house, nor would I trust Kelly, the way that she treats those who contract with her is just unbelievable. Unless you want to end up in court with this company please make sure she is quoting you correctly up front. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

The owner stressed she wanted to make sure I was completely happy and suggested I wait to pay her after I'd had a chance to make sure everything was perfect. It's too close to the edges and so it has become more disgusting than I have words to describe. Once after I tried cleaning it, the glue came loose and my kitchen sink collapsed onto multiple appliances below. Terry (the owner) did respond to that situation, and came over to reglue the sink. Since then, I have contacted him 5-7 times with photos and request that he just come and fix it. He responded once and said he has no excuse-- he's just been really busy.
