5 PM on January the 20th 2025 entering the 15 southbound from the 10 freeway. The driver rudely cut me off. Apparently he doesn't know what a zipper is. It was my turn and he pulled in so tight behind the car in front of him that I had nowhere to go except for into the wall. I assume he didn't think this review was going to come. Or maybe he just doesn't care. I really hope the Towing company can figure out who this driver is. If the company is professional enough to reply to my response, apologizing for this action, I might consider deleting my review. I called for tow services at 12:38 pm. Was on the freeway with my toddler so AAA said they would expedite it. Action Southland towing was supposed to arrive by 1:16, so had the toddler picked up and waited for them. I called back 4-5 times and my service kept being cancelled. They never picked me up. Russell Towing was finally called and there under 20 minutes. The guy was very experienced (30 years of experience), kept me safe, and had a calm reassuring energy that was appreciated after being stuck on the freeway for 3 hours. read more

We had a very scary experience where our car overheated and we were forced to wait at the 7-Eleven. Not only did Russell's get there in less than 25 minutes but the driver knew obviously what he was doing and was incredibly good he had to tow the car for 45 miles didn't skip a beat managed to check the car out and even gave us some helpful tips. if you want a tow truck driver with a flatbed that knows his way around cars and classic cars I recommend getting this service all the way around we have our car safely at home and it's going into the shop and because of his advice we were able to keep more damage from happening. My car looked like somebody went threw my car and when I received my car you can only tell that they went threw my car. So far I'm missing my sun shades and no telling what else. RIP OFF ALERT !!! The owner of this business is unethical. He will tell you one price and sneak in other charges. He told me my tow would be 135 plus 40 dollars a day. My car was impounded over the holiday weekend and police stations were closed to get a release. I was in complete contact with this man the whole time. He was aware of my situation. So when I finally was able to get the release be tacks on an additional 100 dollars to my charges he was trying to keep my vehicle by placing a lean on it. So now I had lean charges. I'd like to give this company a NEGATIVE star. They don't deserve any stars. They have a racket whereby they tow, in the middle of the night, a car which was recently purchased and due to the Pandemic, unable to get new license plates. We were so upset thinking our car was stolen. After meeting with the Sheriff the following day, we learned our car was at Russell Towing accruing 100's of dollars a day! The Sheriff is aware of this business and says they do it regularly and will focus on certain neighborhoods at a time. It's amazing they get away with this. Now we're told we need an authorization from the California Highway Patrol. But today is Saturday and CHP is not open until Monday. We are in a "Catch 22"/ up against a wall as the $$$ keeps adding up at Russell Towing. For what purpose? Because they're GREEDY. I would like to take just another quick moment of your time if you've read this far; Don't give this company your business. High key rude af!! I had a car towed and I asked the tow driver if he was here to tow my car. I know it's a stupid question sure but he just looked at me and laughed as I was standing there. No smile, no answer, no response just a wide smirk. It's a simple question not the brightest question but a response would be nice for all I know he was here for a different car. Moving forward I am not going to do business with this company I'm not sure how there a AAA certified. Honestly.... My experience was pretty darn good! Estimated time was an hour... Tow truck came in 30 minutes.... I guess it's due to the day of the week... Friday- monday is the busiest..... Expect to wait longer... Tuesday.... Not much action.... Russel didn't sound too friendly... But the truck driver was very friendly! Respect others to be treated the same... Fellow yelpers... Hubs hit an island to avoid a teen in an SUV who wasn't looking and moved into his lane. Result - bent wheel, undriveable. This happened at 9 pm Wed night. We called State Farm's Roadside Assistance and they sent Jason from Russell's who showed up in 15 minutes and got hubs home right away. The next day on Thursday we called Roadside Assistance again to get the Catmobile to Anaheim where Santa Ana Wheels had a rim for us. We called at 1 pm. By 3 pm we'd gotten three extensions on the hour they told us we'd have to wait. We called Roadside Assistance back told them to cancel Pride Towing since they had lied about the time to us and to Roadside Assistance staff, 3 times over. We asked for Russell's. They told us 45 minutes or less and literally 15 minutes later Russell's showed up. We made it to Santa Ana Wheels in time to get the Catmobile fixed before closing. Russell's is our hero! read more

The driver, called on receipt of the request and when close by to confirm. He listened well and found the parking lot where I was waiting nearby. Our Sprinter RV broke down in Westminster CA about a month ago. AAA first sent a flatbed too small to haul it. AAA then sent a heavy tow truck that could handle the load. However, the driver didn't have the tools to remove the drive line. He spent over an hour messing around, then left. Not only that, his truck could only haul one passenger so my wife and I would have had to follow in a cab. The third truck was the charm. Phil from Russell's showed up with the right tools and knowhow to get the job done. Within a half hour he had us hooked up and on the way, with room in the cab for both my wife and me. When we got to the Mercedes dealer in Long Beach, their shop had close, but he knew exactly where to leave it. He quickly maneuvered into the tight area and unhooked us. Excellent job Phil!! I arranged for my car to be towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership after it broke down on the road. I waited around 40 minutes, which wasn't bad. I've waited longer. The problem began when the service rep came. He was truly the rudest service rep I have encountered. EVER. Not even a hello when he arrived. He refused to speak to me the entire time (let alone make eye contact), and I only knew he was done because he got into his truck and started to leave. He rolled down his window and mumbled something before leaving-- which I could not hear over the loud noises of the truck. I've never been so baffled. Sure, he's coming to help me out. But not for free. I paid all the necessary fees. Yet there I was. Being treated like a nuisance. Sure, "pleasantry" is not part of the guaranteed services of towing. But I am a paying customer.
