The people at the window are rude. Customer service is ass. Sorry not sorry. I kept my cool and even said thank you when the service was completely provided, and the employee just ignored me. Besides Russell, the owner being THE absolute most rude, smug, argumentative jerk I have ever had to deal with....he is a complete fraud and so is his business! My young son was in his Volleyball gear (I say this because they have a mole at this location that informs this towing company as soon as the driver walks away) as he was playing all day at the Anaheim sports center and parked in Anaheim "business center" that was closed on Saturday and didn't see the sign upon entering the lot BECAUSE it is ON THE OTHER SIDE of the entrance and away from how you would walk to the arena. Russell and his guys have always been there to bail us out whenever our concrete trucks were acting up. We are a major trucking company and their rates are very competitive - they have beat every other company that we've ever used. Russell himself is out and working in the field, he isn't some guy who sits in the office and makes up random prices. Rude rude and RUDE!!! I just called to give the towing company the title to my car that was towed for 72 hour of parking. I flew in from Arkansas to take care of this (Bc my daughter was driving the car and lives here) the man who answered the phone was unbelievably rude. I was trying to take care of this situation and I'm just floored at how rude this man was to me on the phone. And then hung up on me. Ok, this is weird..everyones reviews are so heinous...what gives? I think some people had a bad experience because their car was towed for unfortunate reasons, but don't take it out on the truck that dragged it there... anyways..I have used Russels to move cars, trucks and the occasional peice of equipment for my company and have had nothing but sweet people on the phone, a great price and promp service, nothing broken or damaged..etc. Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a tow or transport! read more

I was having the worst day with terrible tow companies having waited nearly 4 hours after multiple trucks declined to tow my vehicle for whatever sad excuse they had. I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne, he was the most professional and detail oriented tow operators I've ever worked with. He was very quick to analyze the situation and had my vehicle loaded up and en route to its destination within 10 minutes of arriving. Rude, rude, rude! My husband received a text (from the insurance company) stating that Russell's towing would be at the house in 60 minutes. He had a question and called the number on the text and said he had received a text and the person on the phone and said, "WE DON'T DO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ". My husband said I received a text and the person on the phone said, "WE DON'T SEND TEXTS" At this point my husband raised his voice And said there's no need to be rude. All I had to do was retrieve my items from MY car (which I provided the necessary documents) and instead the owner decides that he doesn't want to. After proving legally that he has no right to withhold my belongings, he finally opens his gates to let me in however, he then sits on a truck and watches me struggle, carrying my items back and forth. TERRIBLE SERVICE DESERVES NEGATIVE STARS!!! Russel's towing is a joke do not use them. I recently just got one of my vehicles towed due to an accident and on top of the headache of dealing with the accident and insurance companies I have to deal with these idiots. Firstly the only reason why I went with this joke of a company was because the insurance company sent these people you would think they would send a good reputable company but no. Second the wait for a truck was just unbelievable I was waiting for the tow truck to arrive arrive since Sunday morning and they didn't show up till Monday afternoon the next day and when I called about finding out where this tow truck driver was I was given an attitude and told they would be there tomorrow because they are closed WOW SERIOUSLY ?!?!?! They didn't have the decency to at least apologize for the delay or to at least call and say they can't make it on time and that they would send someone as soon as they have available. 3rd when the driver (Curtis)finally showed up he was at least decent we made small talk while he was securing the vehicle before leaving I made sure to ask him if he knew where to take the vehicle and he said he did and gave me the location and I told him it was correct I asked if he would call me when he arrived at the location to make sure the vehicle arrived where it should be he said he would but he never did. Shortly after leaving I receive a call saying that he has taking the vehicle to anther dealership other than where he was supposed to go so I call him twice to give him the address again but he doesn't answer so I call the main number on the business card I was given too explain the situation & to let them know that's not the correct place I don't understand how you can go to the wrong location when it's obviously in opposite directions from each other anyways when I call, the man who answers who claims he is the owner I didn't get a name but I'm guessing from previous reviews his name is Russel was just the most rude, unprofessional SOB I have ever spoke to he does not know what it means to be respectful, courteous, and how to be a professional business owner he cussed me out and hung up on me 4 times all because I asked why the driver went to the wrong location and if he could contact the driver to let him know where to go since I couldn't reach him. I can't ever fathom talking to anybody the way he did was just unacceptable he deserves to lose his business and everyone who has dealt with this sorry ass company needs to report them to the BBB, media, wherever you can to get this place shut down asap!! I live about 20 min or less away from the shop where the vehicle was getting serviced so I timed when he should have arrived and called the shop myself to make sure it was there and he was arriving just as I had called and told the lady working what had happened she obviously apologized for there behavior but it's not her fault she said she would report them to her manager but I'm not sure they can do anything as they are not affiliated with that tow company. Lastly in my opinion find you're own tow company and then see if your insurance can cover the cost instead of them just sending you any random company. Worst towing for sure. My insurance called them to tow my car and gave me a phone number to contact them as needed. I give them a call to ask if they can pull up my window (my car was dead and needed to be jumped to pull up the windows). The operator picks up and I ask him if if they've picked up my 97 blue Honda Accord and he rudely said "ugh do you know how many cars we tow a day? I don't know!" After giving additional information I asked him if they can pull up my window and he said "yeah We'll think about it." Then hung up... I called again to ask for the direct phone number of the tow man and he gives me the number then Just hangs up... rudest fucking operator ever. read more

The rudest, most smug SOBs we've ever dealt with in the towing business, and that really says something. The Stanton police had Russell's tow my stolen truck back to their yard, without my permission. The woman working the office was so condescending, like I was supposed to know I was gonna have to pay $250 to get back my stolen truck that I gave no one the ok to tow in the first place. The drivers were even worse. The thieves who broke into the truck took apart the ignition so they could start it with a flathead. We asked one of the drivers for a flathead and he gave us the smallest one on the face of the planet. When they realized the truck was not gonna start on it's own, they "offered" to tow it out on the street. They just wanted us off their property. And of course, they said, don't forget to give us back our screwdriver. You would think they would have a little sympathy for someone who had their property stolen, and recovered in complete shambles, but no. We've never felt the urge to physically harm someone before. If you ever get your car stolen, and it's recovered, don't wait for the cops to call you to tell you when you can come get your car, bc they won't. They'll just let some crooked thieves like Russell's tow it so they can get some revenue. If you know where your car is at, just go there and wait for them to finish the paperwork. Even if you have to tow it home (like we did, another $200), at least you won't have to pay the first $250 to get it out. read more

They hire drunks. Don't use them because they condone drinking and driving. One of their drivers nearly ran me over on the street because be "saw" me texting. He must have been drunk! He pulled up next to me, cornered me into the center divider, and began yelling profanities so much that spit came out of his mouth. I panicked and could not believe he was like an animal. When I called and had owner of the restaurant corroborate my story, he refused to believe us and the owner - calling us liars. A formal complaint WILL be made. One of their drivers almost drove me off the road at Richman and Orangethorpe just now. He was going at least 45 and was about 10 - 15 feet behind me. I was trying to get to the left lane and slow down to turn but was afraid because he was going so fast. I honked my horn as he went by. He slammed his brakes and came to a full stop in the intersection, screeching his tires. Whoever was driving that truck is a menace and should not be allowed to drive such a large and dangerous vehicle. I have triple A and I called triple A for a tow, A guy Came out and said I owed $70 dollars because I went over the miles and I was like okay gave him my card and got charged $100 instead and in the receipt even said 70 as well. (The driver was on his phone the whole way to my destination and was cussing the whole time) The next day I called and let them know and "Russell" was EXTREMELY RUDE and no help at all. Just said that later he'll ask the worker who drove us how much he charged us and checked the receipt. I then called later in regards this issue because as I was going through my bank statement it said it was charged TWICE. Charged twice for $100. Again Russell was even MORE RUDE. He was screaming at me and being so unprofessional. I don't recommend this i did report this to my bank and Triple A. Towed my car from an apparent entire "Handicapped Parking," lot. Was unaware that a spot not marked blue without a posted sign could be "handicapped." Claims no damage to the car yet a cracked windshield appeared. Almost feels like a "pile on" based on this reply, but clearly "jaded" based on their years in the industry. Sent PHIL to take my car to the nearest collision center. First and foremost, PHIL looked like a Carni and had no patience. He dropped my car after waiting, he was about to swing on me, and took off. I called Russell's Towing Co. To notify them of PHIL'S behavior and the man I spoke with cancelled my entire call and left me to choose a different company. I will neverrrr ever call them for service again. Out of any bad service I have ever received, this one takes the cake. What employee almost swings at you and no repercussion is taken by their superior. Speaks volumes about their staff and company as a whole. Russell's Towing driver pulled out in front of me from a dead stop in the middle lane on the street, didnt signal, caused me to have to swerve into the center of Orangethorpe and almost hit the old lady with a walker crossing the street illegally. Then pulled up to me and asked me to roll down my window to yell at me and tell me that i shouldve slowed down because he had his amber lights on. He made no indication that he was going to pull out and didnt look for oncoming traffic, either that or he thinks he's the king of the road and decided to teach me a lesson, i assume the latter. Bunch of Snakes... Was at the Anaheim Sports Center watching my son play basketball this past weekend. All of the parking lots were full, no street parking anywhere. It was a Sunday and all the businesses were closed so I parked in one of the lots. Well low and behold an hour later we walked out and my car was gone. Circumstances surrounding the involvement of a tow truck are never great experiences, at least for me. We were in an accident and still a little shook up, but our driver was incredibly personable and had great recommendations. I actually left the experience feeling capable of tackling the problem with efficiency and even a relative sense of calm. We were also extremely grateful that he showed up in half of the quoted time; because whom among us wants to stand around at the scene of your accident waiting on other people longer than necessary? He also had a clean truck interior, which is a first in my experience. Overall my evening went from feeling like my world was caving in around me to oh, that just happened. This is not a review based on their towing service but in regards to their driver(s) and whoever is answering their phone calls. I was making a right turn onto Ball from Magnolia when one of their drivers came from the other side of Ball trying to turn left in between cars that were in the lane to turn left onto Magnolia. The driver cuts me off and when I went around him I gave him a look of "what are you doing?" He then proceeds to drive up next to me at the next light yelling "didn't you see me?" I told him how am I supposed to see you when you're coming from the other side of the road and trying to turn illegally while being blocked of vision by the other cars. He seemed more irate when I was trying to get the number off his car to call and report him calling me a "f-ing punk" I called the number to let them know what had happened and the guy on the phone just asked where I was and then abruptly said "well thanks for telling us" and just hung up. I don't know whether this company is good at towing cars but to have driver's like that who go thru road rage, swearing and yelling at people at the stop light when they were the ones who cut me off is a definite sign of a company you wouldn't want to call for any type of help. It seems there are plenty of reviews about the person that answers phone and how unhelpful and rude he is but for an employee who spends most of their time on the road driving to act that way and drive like that seems not only unfit to be driving around all the time for a job but dangerous on the road. read more

This was a while back just had time to post this review. My BMW had electrical issues and died in the road. BMW assist sent a tow truck it Took over 1.5hr to arrive. There was a skinny guy and a fat lady who was rushing and didn't answer any of my questions concerning the tow. They said do you want it tow or not I asked what there policy was on damage during the tow. They went to there truck and left... WTF.. Worst service ever. read more

My new Nissan Rogue stalled on me because if fuel pump issue their service team caused. Nissan unfortunately does business with this towing company. I called Nissan Corporate office who informed me they'd send out this company and text me an ETA but I didnt have to be there when tow comoany areived. I confirmed and said are you sure so that I can go to the dealership, they confirmed I didnt have to be present. I left to the Buena Park dealership and got a text stating Russells Towing would areive at 8:48pm. I get a call at 8:20 the woman driver of the tow truck said she was there and needed my keys. I told her it would take me 40 minutes to get there since I was at the dealership and she said I quote "I will have to call my manager to see if he wants me to wait and ill call you back, I said ok please do so I can go". We hung up and I called a family member that was near the tow teuck and my Rogue and they arrived in 13 minutes and no site of tow teuck was there. First of all im upset with Nissans corporate office telling me I didnt have to be present when tow teuck arrived but moreso am upset with this unprofessional towing company. This woman never called me back, Never!. I called the company Russells Towing and literally when the guy answered he said where are you I said the cross streets and he raised his voice at me upset and said YOU TOLD HER TO WAIT 40 MINITES So we are closed now call you 800 number and hung up before I could even say one word. I called him back and he immediatel said I ALREADY TOLD YOU WE'RE NOT GOING SO CALL YOUR 800 Number so since he was yelling I yelled back saying she said she was going to call me back and he hung up. I already called Nissan and informed the manager of what transpired and cannot wait until morning to report this company to the corporate office because Nissan should not be using such a shitty towing company. Their lack of hospitality, professionalism and manners is almost laughable. This towing company has caused me the worst experience of my life when it comes to getting a vehicle towed. My honest opinion, do mot use this company, there are many others around that will treat you with respect as anyone sjould be and not lie!
