I liked dr Fitton Staff got me in right away, had crown break off leaving jagged edge cutting my tongue. Nice and personable . Staff supportive. Thankyou again! read more

I absolutely love this place! Everyone always goes above and beyond whether it's with the quality of care or the kindness. Everyone who works here is so kind and personable especially the office staff. I have only ever had my dental cleanings here because I take amazing care of my teeth but every time I go it is the quickest experience in the world. I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone! It really does feel like a family when you walk in there. They have turned what is normally a scary experience for people into something I look forward to. Thank you everyone for all of your hard work and kindness. I will be a patient here forever. read more

You'll get your teeth fixed but follow the money. This is a business first, a dental office second. You'll see it in many ways, office attitude, turnover, their Hawaii office, the time spent per patient, so don't get sucked in to false impressions and friendly gestures. Greed and money comes before compassion and you. It will happen, give it time. People driven by money are easy to identify. Wealth, accolades and image are at forefront here, not you or your family. read more

Great Dental Office!!! There was a mistake in insurance acceptance. They were great about it and didnt charge me for the services already rendered. The staff is great and professional and truley care about patients. read more

I am scared of just things and people near my face. Today I received the most cmpassionate care from Jessica (dental hygenist) and Dr Fitton IIII DDS. Just got my teeth cleaned today. I actually feel confident enough to go back next week for my first filling ever, long long over due, because of the professional and non judgemental way the treated me. Thank you so much! And see you next week! read more

Practice is great. Jess is the best hygienist if ever had. Drs Fitton very professional, thorough and caring. Just moved to IL and Barrington area from out of state and I couldn't have selected a better dentist to keep up my recurring dental care. read more

Dr Rusty was recommended to me by a family friend after I returned from college. I broke my retainer and needed a new one. Even though I live in the city, it was worth the drive to be seen by such a caring and welcoming provider. I have been back several times and the office staff is always willing to answer questions. Also, Dr. Rusty has an on call number for the weekends and encourages his patients to contact him with any concerns. After my first visit, Dr. Rusty went above and beyond bringing the retainer to me in the city on his way home since he knew I lived so far away. It's very clear he and the other staff are passionate about patient care on top of beautiful smiles. I would strongly recommend Dr. Rusty and this practice to anyone seeking a skilled and caring dentist. read more

This review is long overdue! Last fall, one of my front teeth chipped; Dr. Fitton IV was very understanding of my concern and was able to get me in the very next morning! He was able to fix it seamlessly, and the material he used matched my teeth exactly. My teeth look great and the repair has held up. All of the staff are exceptional. I will definitely be coming back and have been recommending them to friends and family. Wonderful experience! read more

Dr. Fitton IV (Rusty) is amazing. Not only is he a great dentist, but one who truly cares about his patients. I had an emergency root canal on a Sunday and he met me at the dental office on Sunday at 10 PM to take care of my tooth-So impressed with this Dental practice. I highly recommend both dentists. They take great care of their patients. Office staff is extremely accommodating and friendly as well. On a scale from 1-10, this dental office is an 11!! read more

After years of having my braces off and a fixed retainer on my bottom teeth, one side finally broke loose one morning and was sticking into my mouth. I called my orthodontist (not Dr. Fitton) but was told he was out of town and I wouldn't be able to be seen by anyone until the next week, 4 days later. I wasn't going to make it that long so I looked for another local dentist/ortho to help me. Dr. Fitton's office offered to squeeze me in during my lunch that day to reattach my retainer. I was in and out quickly and years later, my retainer is still staying strong with no issues! A huge thank you to Dr. Russ and his staff for helping me out in a pinch and doing such a great job! read more

When your kids WANT to go to the dentist, you know you found the right place. Thank you for being great!

Both Dr. Fittons are extremely knowledgeable, progressive in thinking, and fair. Both are very personable. I would recommend this practice for dentistry. Anita read more

I hadn't seen the dentist in about 2 years. I was really nervous to come, but was recommended by a friend who had a great experience. Dr. Fitton and his staff were so nice and gentile with my cleaning. I am so happy that I found a dentist that I feel comfortable returning to. I would recommend to anyone. read more

My family (wife, 3 children currently aged 4, 5 and 8) has been going to this practice for the last 5 years. We started by seeing an associate dentist (non owner) for the first 2 years, and had very good experiences on a consistent basis. For the last 3 years, we have been seeing the owner's son, and that is when my comfort level with the practice dropped, until this week when it fell off a cliff. The main issue I have is the lack of interaction with and feedback from the dentist. If you take your child there, the expectation is that the child (as young as 3) stays in the exam room unaccompanied. This is fine. What is unacceptable is the lack of parent interaction with the dentist. My expectation is that if a health care service provider is going to take custody of my child, even if for only 10-15 minutes, that I get briefed afterwards by the dentist himself (not the hygienist or tech). I am not looking for anything more than a 1 minute summary that summarizes what happened, and what comes next. This kind of parent briefing has not happened at any appointment I have been at. My child goes in, he is treated, then sent back out with a quick comment from the hygienist. In the incident that served as the tipping point for us, my 4 year old daughter went in to have a cavity filled. I escorted her to the room, and ended up staying (at the hygienist's request) because my daughter wasn't handling it well. The dentist (Rusty, owner's son) walked in, didn't say hello to me (bizarre) and went straight for my daughter. He neither addressed me nor explained what was happening, so I just watched as he struggled with her (not his fault, she was difficult). His bedside manner with her was ok. He used a visit to the 'toy chest' to try to get her to cooperate. It wasn't working (again, not his fault). Halfway through, he asked me to step out so he could finish (I think he thought I was a distraction to my daughter, he didn't say). I stepped out and waited just outside the room, because I knew if I went into the waiting room, I wouldn't hear from Rusty on what happened. (Coincidentally, the dentist's father, who had no idea who I was, happened to walk by while I waited in the hall and said 'hello' to me very pleasantly). After a few minutes, Rusty walked out and told me he was stopping the procedure. He got the filling in, but she wasn't cooperating, and couldn't finish, and that was that. Rather than going on to explain to me what work was done and what was left, I had to prod him. "What work is left? What is the impact to my daughter since the work wasn't completed? Do we need to reschedule?" I then asked him if it would make sense for me to go back in with her so he could finish the job. He wouldn't consider it. It was a very strange and terse back and forth. One thing which I heard him say to my daughter as he walked out (he didn't know I was standing outside the room) was "well, now you don't get to go to the treasure chest because you didn't open your mouth for me". This told me that Rusty has very little experience with children on both a personal and professional level. It would have been no skin off his back to personally try to escort her to the treasure chest to give her a toy, and consequently give her a positive memory of an otherwise tough visit to the dentist's office. Not only did he not do that, he said that she couldn't go...as if that would motivate her (again, a 4 year old) to cooperate on the next visit. We will no longer be taking our children here for care. read more

Sadly my experience was horrendous. I went with tooth ache which turned out to be an infection. I ended up leaving with an unfinished root canal, no pain killers and no antibiotics; 12 hours later, in the worst pain I have ever experienced I was in the emergency room. I would not recommend them. read more

This past week I saw Dr. Russell Fitton IV to get a second opinion for procedures that were suggested by a different doctor. I was very upset and nervous after my experience at the previous dentist and was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Fitton's patience and understanding of my concerns. He and his assistant Noel were calm, friendly and professional which eased some of my anxiety. After taking new X-rays, Dr. Fitton did not feel that it was necessary to do such extensive work and even offered to file down a chip I had on one of my front teeth. The experience was extremely enjoyable and although I have to drive from the city to see the doctors here it is well worth the drive. From the friendly front desk staff, to the assistants that say hello to you in the hallway, this office really changes the mentality around a dreaded dentist visit. (Traci the office manager was very understanding when I needed to reschedule the appointment earlier in the week. As long as you call more than 24 hours before your appointment there is no irritating charge to your account! Awesome bonus). read more

Great practice - highly recommended. I went to Dr. Russ Fitton from the age of ~6-18, & then recently transitioned to working with Rusty. The transition was smooth, the service is top notch. I highly recommend this office, Russ, Rusty & the entire staff! read more

I have been going to Dr Fitting for several years, and should have written this before. I think his work is excellent. I usually see the dad, but have been seen by Rusty too. Both are great. The office staff is excellent. If a sore tooth comes up I am always worked into the schedule. If you are looking for a great dentist...you found the right place here. read more

I should have written this years ago!! Not many people love their dentist and I have to admit, I never understood why, because mine is AWESOME! I've been going to Barrington Dental for the last 14 years and was seen by Dr. Fitton III for the first 12 years. His son, Dr. Rusty Fitton IV started his career at the same practice a few years ago and I became his patient soon after. I recently found out that I needed to get my very first cavity filled ....... I'm 33, so this was a little scary for me. I've never been scared of my dentist, but that's partially because I've never really had anything done. This was new territory, but from the second I walked in, till the second I left the office, I felt like Dr. Rusty was there only for me. He talked me through each step of the filling and made sure I was comfortable. There's something about his bed-side manner that makes you feel like you're just there to get a cleaning...nothing to worry about and with his steady hands, you don't even know he's in your mouth! I will continue to highly recommend Dr. Fitton IV (Dr. Rusty) and the entire practice, Barrington Dental, to anyone who needs a dentist!! Oh and I've lived in Ca for the last 4 years and WILL NOT go to any other dentist, so this is a review from 2000 miles away and I'd make the trip every single time!!! Thanks Dr. Rusty!! GO HAWKS! read more

I rarely write reviews but I was so impressed with the service from start to finish that I couldn't wait to brag on them. I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Rusty is one of the most patient and informative dentists I have ever had! He took the time to go over my xrays, dental hygiene and the cleaning with me- which is a rare find these days! He is honest about necessary treatments unlike other dental offices I have tried. He also answers all my questions, which I tend to come in with many! The entire staff is so pleasant too! Overall, a phenomenal experience and highly recommend!! read more

I love this place! I am terrified of anything to do with dental.. but they were extremely kind, reassuring, and comforting. I had my initial consult with Dr. Fitton SR and he is a wonderful man who made me feel at ease. He gave me a quick recap of why my tooth hurt so bad and gave me the plan of care. I followed up with his son Dr. Rusty Fitton and he was awesome!! Turned out I needed a root canal when I thought I needed a sedative filling, and while I was sweating bullets he made sure with extra shots of local anesthetic and repetitively asking if I was ok and in pain made me feel so much better. He distracted me with conversation during the procedure ( which I sincerely appreciated ) AND! He understood what I was saying back with all those tools in my mouth! Haha! The hygienists are great, friendly, and knowledgeable. The front desk is incredibly nice and even the billing woman I spoke to was a delight. I am still slightly scared of the dentist but I'll tell you, I trust these people! Both docs are scheduled out so it takes a bit to get in but very worth it! If you need a new dentist, check them out! read more

I visited this practice to get a dental tray for whitening. Overall, I had a great experience. Dr. Fitton was very friendly, timely and professional. He was eager to answer and attend to all my questions and concerns. Additionally, he provided very clear instructions and recommendations on how I should proceed with the new dental equipment. read more

I had a cavity filled by a dentist, not Dr. Fitton, at this business. 2 days after the surgery, the tooth that had the cavity filled became VERY sensitive to cold temperatures. I went back a week after the operation and they "polished it up". The tooth is STILL extremely sensitive to cold, several weeks after the surgery. I refuse to give them a THIRD chance to try and fix what should've been done right the first time. Oh and they're trying to bill me for the operation.... Sincerely, Dissatisfied read more

I was very disappointed in Dr Fitton. He recently treated my 91 year old mother. He performed 7 resin procedures on her 4 front teeth. He was with her less than 40 minutes and she received a bill for $1,446.00, She was not informed that this would be an extremely expensive procedure. It would be a good policy to inform people especially the elderly who may be on very limited incomes how much something will cost. I went to their office to determine how you do 7 procedures on 4 teeth and they explained how. Dr Fitton came out and asked to speak with me, quite the arrogant man in his approach. He explained to me that he had to spend twice as much time with my moth since she can only sit in a regular chair. She is very frail and has major back issues. So his $1446. bill was really for less than 20 minutes of work on a normal patient. The work was fine. Not a dentist we will go back to, very disappointed. read more

I asked my son who is a specialist in the dental profession for a recommendation for a general dentist and he suggested Dr. Rusty Fitton. I was taken on time at his Barrington office that he shares with his father. Dr. Fitton spent a considerable amount of time with his examination and his explanation of the results. I found him professional , thorough and honest. I had thought that I might have needed a procedure as I had experienced discomfort. Dr Fitton pointed out that it was only temporary and would subside. I am extremely pleased with Dr. Fitton and his office and he is a welcome member of my health care team. I recommend him highly. read more

Dr. Fitton's office WAY overcharges for anything outside of a typical cleaning. The bonding on my retainer broke and they originally charged me $275 for a 5 minute appointment to get the bonding fixed. It then broke again three weeks later and I am just suffering through the sharp bonding until I can find a new dentist so that I do not need to pay a ridiculous fee twice in one month. They then lowered my bill twice after fighting with them but $85 still seems pretty steep for an ineffective, five minute procedure that did not even involve the dentist. I would look elsewhere if you require anything beyond cleaning. read more

I just got married in August and mentioned to Dr. Rusty I was always self conscious about my smile since my teeth shifted after braces. I guess it really is important to wear that retainer. Dr. Rusty used a 3D printer to create aligners for me that improved my smile in just six months. Not to mention any competitors, but it only cost me 25% of my quote from other methods. I lost one of my trays and it was replaced for free. I have sent two of my friends to them to get their smile makeover before their weddings. It was a nice surprise that my general dentist was able to straighten my teeth for me. read more
