I decided to check out Rush Bowls, after my morning run. The parking in the front is limited but they do have street parking nearby. I was greeted immediately after I walked through the door. The lady behind the counter was very patient with me. I'm not a big fan of açai bowls so I opted for a different base and ordered the Bravacado. This had a base of mangoes, bananas, avocado of course, and pineapple juice. It was so good and refreshing! - Sunday, March 30th This was my daughter's and my first time visiting Rush Bowls, and we were genuinely excited to try the smoothie bowls we've heard so much about. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations in several ways. We both ordered the Beach Bowls, and they came out extremely watery--not the thick, refreshing consistency we were hoping for. The granola used tasted exactly like the Nature's Path Pumpkin Seed + Flax granola that I often buy at the store, which gave the bowl more of a store-bought feel than a fresh, handcrafted one. I was really hoping for something more homemade and unique. Customer service also left a lot to be desired. When we walked in, we weren't acknowledged at all. The employee at the front seemed much more engaged in a casual conversation with a coworker than in helping customers. I'm very understanding, especially with young adults--I'm a mom myself, and I know everyone is still learning--but it felt disrespectful to be completely ignored and treated as an afterthought. The bowls were made so quickly and with such little care that it was obvious. My daughter and I both agreed that the flavor and experience just weren't enjoyable. We really wanted to like this place and were hoping for a warm, welcoming environment with bowls made with love and attention to detail, but sadly, that wasn't our experience. We hope Rush Bowls takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both their customer service and the quality of their product. A bowl off the menu will cost you $11 to start and go up if you add additional toppings, and you choose the type of milk (almond, coconut, low-fat, etc.) to blend with and get 1 choice of toppings. Yes, definitely pretty pricey but if you're stopping by for a meal, it works out. The bowls are generously sized and quite pretty too! Om nom nom~ If you're not a spooner and prefer to slurp, smoothie options are available as well. And if your dog is feeling left out, they even have a Bow Wow Bowl for him, topped with a Milk Bone!! So extra but so freaking cute :D There's plenty of easy parking + limited seating inside and a few spots in the shade outside. I really wanted to like this place as it has so much potential. I tried this place twice before creating me review. Pros: located near memorial park which makes it so convenient to grab a healthy reboot after a run. I liked that they had several options and dairy free options/substitutes. Cons: i tried the super protein smoothie and then another time the green rx. Both smoothies have great ingredients on the menu however, neither had much flavor. I feel like maybe the ice to ingredients ratio may be off because both smoothies I hardly could taste anything. I did not try the bowls but if the flavors could come out more in the smoothies, this place will definitely be successful based on its location and convenience. Safety - its a small spot but everyone had masks on and it seems like most people hang out outside rather than crowding the inside.
